Gyro is more fun than mouse for aiming and even the DS4/5 track pad is easier to reach than the number keys for inventory functions or similar. My preferences where it is admittedly not optimal aside, these features really come in handy for something like Monster Hunter where you would typically want to be using a controller but still need to occasionally aim or have a lot of items to use or switch to. More importantly, why not? It probably won't be significantly more expensive than other controllers and the DS4 and 5 can also do similar things at a price comparable to a bare bones Xbox controller. Nothing bad can come from closing the gap between controllers and keyboard and mouse.
