It is true that technically speaking the N64 is better due to having texture filtering and stable geometry, but blur and smear are just extremely ugly to me and they look like nothing but technical shortcomings (they are) which make the games ugly, whereas the PS1's limitations aren't as aesthetically repulsive and can pass as a "style" born from hardware limitations (much like 2D pixel sprites do for even earlier systems).
