Why have you not switched yet? It runs pretty much everything except CoD / Battlefield / Roblox / Fortnite / League of Legends

You can make the argument that you were on the wrong side of the history if you are still not using Linux. Gaben himself WANTS you to use it. Did your life ever improve by disobeying him?

Hdmi 2.1 isn't supported on linux because hdmi company is being an asshole, and i use my qd-oled tv for pc gaming since i can't stand small screens, but it doesn't have dp. I use Linux as a main though but game on windows in a vm with gpu passthrough

Damn, I've been just directly passing my nvidia gpu to vfio drivers at boot since i just use it in the vm mainly and then pass it back into nvidia drivers in linux if i wanna do ai, but still using my amd gpu for display output in linux the whole time. But I'll try booting with the nvidia drivers tomorrow so i can try to fully use hdmi 2.1 gaming in linux then with the nvidia gpu driving the display

Na, bots, AI and retards have completely ruined multiplayer gaming and the internet in general and it all stems from a lack of accountability. I'm not saying it should be forced, but the option to play with your real identity should be there for those who want to play with normal people and not bots, cheaters and retards.

Accountability in multiplayer games is not worth giving up you privacy. You would open up the worst kind of slippery slope you can possibly imagine. I know that its a hard pill to swallow but online multiplayer gaming is kind of just dying and its never going to get better. There is no going back. The only way to have enjoyable multiplayer games is to play them locally with people now. The solution you offer is not only not a solution (cheaters will get fake id's) it will just lead to innocent people being shamed into doxxing themselves for peer pressure.

I did switch. Everything on Steam is simple enough. But using Wine is a bit of a pain in the ass. I got most of what I wanted working at the end but honestly I'm not one of those loser geeks who enjoy tinkering with this stuff, so I'm not exactly happy about this. I switched because Windows has been becoming increasingly annoying and if they ever get their shit together I might go back. I want things to just werk. I'm using Ubuntu if that's relevant.

Different but related issue, I can't get a pen tablet's pressure sensitivity to work in sai using proton. The software works just fine thanks to modern proton updates but pen pressure doesn't which defeats the purpose. I suspect it's because I'm on wayland.
