It certainly won't hurt to check it out but I'd keep my expecations in check if I were you. This isn't really a remaster, even if the name implies it but more of an update that introduces a bit of technical fluff and QoL with potentially further updates in the future (they are still exploring the capabilities of the tools they are given to see what can and can't be done according to the Q&A).
There's no separate server for people to start fresh, so at the end of the day it's still the same played out game where the majority of people sits around in Spamadan trying to sell shit in a completely fucked economy, while the rest mostly play solo and does shit with their own heroes. Personally I kinda doubt that this will lead to a big revival of the game, but I'd love to be proven wrong here.

Depends on the content. Early missions tend to have a size of 4 but it scales up to 8 with two of the later elite missions (the deep and urgoz warren) allowing 12 players.

You need healing. I generally used to think you need a minimum of 1 healing monk and 1 prot monk for most 8 player missions. After ritualist and paragon came out, theres other options. I recall doing some missions with 8 dps people who brought shitty self heals but it was painful as fuck, like everyone dead and huge death penalty. Beyond that i feel like every class is viable and a balanced compisition can get you through, but even if you go heavy into one type of dps class, you can still make it work through careful selection of skills, call targets to focus the same one, etc.

I recall a number of missions being easier if you bring a ranger with the winter spirit which converts dmg to cold and then having an ele use elemental resistance wards for bonus armor while it also fucked up the enemy synergies.

It's sort of trinity. There's tougher types but not exactly tanks, and healers are a must-have dedicated role. Builds are pretty flexible unless every person is doing something completely wacky and different.
There's a bit more focus on support-types than most MMOs. Like "batteries" that primarily just give other allies Energy.

Essential skills to know about!
Protective spirit (enchantment) 10 energy, 5 second cooldown
For about 20 seconds target ally cannot lose more than 10% max hp due to damage from a single attack or spell.

The above skill combined with high health regeneration and intentionally low max hp of 55 highlighted an early popular build to make you nearly invincible- until an enemy mesmer or necro decided to shatter all your enchantments.

Light of deliverance -elite skill, healing magic - 5 energy, 6s cooldown - all party members are healed for 55..70 health (it scales depending on your healing magic stat as do most skills) generally just a great healing skill to offset high pressure from large aoe damage over time or hexes and conditions by just outhealing it.

Spiteful spirit- curses- elite hex spell. 18..20 seconds. Whenever target attacks or uses a skill spiteful spirit does 29..35 shadow damage to that unit and adjacent allies.

Put your big curses like this or Backfire on the bottom of the stack and quickly cover them with quick, or less important hexes like mild health degeneration. Many healer skills only remove 1 hex at a time so putting a cover hex on top allows the important one to stay on longer.

There is no greater feeling in vidya than nailing an enemy with a distracting shot during his important skill or ressurect.

Lets talk about ranger mechanics. When a ranger shoots his bow at a stationary target, the arrow will hit him. When he shoots at a moving target, the arrow flies as if the target will continue to move in the same direction at the same speed. So if an enemy fires at you, you can dodge the arrow by strafing. But many skills leave you stationary to cast over time. Bows have different characteristics. Flatbows and Longbows have the highest range. Hornbows are for losers who want armor pen and should play a warrior instead. Recurve bows are the best for delivering interupts - a short flight time and low arc. Shortbows fire faster.

If you dont care about the interupts, you can maximize DPS by firing a distracting shot or savage shot immediately after another skill. This might be called an 'animation cancel' in modern gamer terms.

A minion master will typically take different skills that require a corpse to use like Animate Flesh golem, and animate bone minions. Another spell can be used to deal large close range aoe damage by blowing up your own minion, so if one gets low on HP, you use it.

While many people liked having ranged minions because they were powerful, I always liked having a ton of melee guys due to bodyblocking. Oh, that enemy healer wants to kite away and use a touch range ressurect on his friend? Tough shit buddy, there is a wall of zombies and skeletons around you and you cant move, and my friend is about to drop a giant meteor on your head. Sucks to suck!

all of it. you can do it with the henchmen in normal mode, might be a little annoying at times, but i'd say its possible. for hard mode you'd want to go through the nightfall campaign and eye of the north to get heroes, which are customizable henchmen, you can change their skills/gear in any way you want.
