AI corpos are gonna get most of the contracts for atleast 2-3 years.
After that the corpos you mentioned will start getting the contracts for another 2-3 years. It MIGHT come down but I don't think the prices will drop too much as the resources will still be scarce.
The prices will still linger a higher end for the rest of 2-3 years.
So I think around a decade is a safe bet
>>
>>727827514
I just hope I can find a job in time to quickly buy a second GPU for my local ai
>>
>>727828697
I think it will drop a lot faster than "a decade".
1-2 years tops.
RAM chips at $1000 can easily pay for another RAM factory, because capitalism and shit.

That's a thing.
It's not about how many dollars per chip you get, it's how many dollars x how many in total you sold.

>invest in a RAM factory to steal a piece of cake of the other companies
Is also a thing.

>>

As fun as it is to blame the jews this is more letting 2-3 East Asian companies control the RAM supply. They have been fined for price fixing and limiting supply before but it's not enough.

the companies in the game won't make new factories just so they can sell more chips for a few years. The new factories will be a money sink once the prices go down.

its funny that people are called "communists" for talking about shit like "taxing billionaires fairly" even though this is the kind of thing that resulted in what most people consider the "golden age of capitalism"

Capitalism only started going to absolute shit, and everyones quality of life started rapidly declining when millionaires started convincing poor people to fight against their own interests through propaganda.

If you think the government regulating the market is communism, then all of the best years of capitalism were actually communism, and this means that capitalism has literally always been a shit system and communism was actually the right choice all along.

You can't point to any era of capitalism where shit wasn't exclusively getting worse without pointing to an era where the regulations would be called "communist socialist propaganda"

Government and tech jews want to control AI for skynet, manufactured super viruses, and robocops to enslave or kill humanity.

Nvidia, China, and most open source people just want Futurama or something like utopia. They see the long game leading to Star Trek and are working together to get there.

Meta and Microsoft want it to control the infrastructure of the future. It's sort of like the internet 2.0 in that regard. They're frantically trying to participate in the race, doing all kinds of retarded shit in the process.

Google is really weird, on one hand they are aligned with Nvidia and the open source gods but on the other hand they are probably government tech jews, and on the third hand they're in competition with Meta and Microsoft. It's hard to tell what they're doing but they're going to win generally.

It won't. Not at the current pace. Jeets are delusional. Unless we have a completely new approach to ML, "AI" won't develop past a chatbot that sometimes makes sense.
Think about it this way. They have already scraped entire internet, all of the books that ever existed, correspondence of millions of social network users, billions of lines of code, everything they had. And LLMs still have nothing resembling intelligence. They will always make dumb mistakes and hallucinate bullshit, because they don't have inner understanding of what they are really doing. It's all statistical noise.
They need a completely novel approach to AI. If the best new tech they could show this year was brainrot generator app, you know they are fucked. They are just trying anything to create some more artificial hype to pump the bubble some more.

It's moving toward a world where the only people producing porn are doing it for fun and personal enjoyment which is how it ought to be.

General media always follows in the footsteps of pornographic media when it comes to tech adoption, so I predict all audiovisual media will go this way eventually. The mass commercial value of music, movies, shows, anime, comics, etc. will utterly collapse leaving only soulful hobby projects and personal passion work behind. Sorry, I'm now a jew.
I understand why you think AI doesn't have inner understanding, but you can make the inner understanding yourself.
You can use all the recorded knowledge compressed in the existing models on a workflow tailored for your needs (you need to have conscience to do this).
Try this and be surprised how powerful LLMs used as tools can be:

I think the AI bubble will pop by then and we'll probably be dealing with other economic issues.

>>727836194
>Think about it this way. They have already scraped entire internet, all of the books that ever existed, correspondence of millions of social network users, billions of lines of code, everything they had. And LLMs still have nothing resembling intelligence. They will always make dumb mistakes and hallucinate bullshit, because they don't have inner understanding of what they are really doing. It's all statistical noise.
And now they're training them on data poisoned by other shitty AIs too!
These LLMs were probably the best they were ever gonna get before they were available to the public and jeets started using AI to flood the internet with garbage posts and fake blogs.

I disagree, most people are just vacuous consumers and have not a creative bone in their body, even if you barely have to use your brain for prompting.
Plus, a large part of music and film/series is celebrity worship/gossip. You don't have that with AI.

Yes, by not using LLMs.
I've been working as a software dev for 10+ years and tried using AI and it's dumb as rocks and always breaks and ruins codebase. There wasn't a single time it was helpful beyond generating a small script.

By making technology that can totally replace labor, winning the historic battle between labor and capital once and for all, and overcoming the global crisis of demographic collapse without resorting to suicidal mass migration.

Right now they're only replacing bullshit jobs, western "thought workers" with LLMs that can already read and write emails, which is 90% of their job. They're in the process of replacing "knowledge workers" whose job is essentially to have knowledge and apply it, but don't do any physical work. The future goal is replacing even physical labor with robots using machine vision, replacing service workers and menial servants with equivalent automated solutions, augmenting/replacing police and military with easily controlled machines, etc.

Ideally, this continues until there's pretty much no "working jobs" left and so the working class is rendered almost totally worthless. As the value of labor drops like a rock the former labor class either becomes slaves engaged in personal servitude or other cases where a human is needed, or they're rescued into the new system and become "middle class" cattle living on gibs who exist to consent to the new economy with their votes so everything remains stable.

If that works, in the long run, the population drops due to collapsed birth rates and the labor class gradually ceases to exist. Only a small slavelike underclass remains sort of like untouchables, they'd pretty much exist only as a social need because humans have the desire to be superior to other humans.

As a general rule, if you want to guess how the future will turn out, remember that historically during periods of stability, wealth always concentrates to the maximum extent possible, and only massive calamities like plague, revolution, and world wars ever reverse that trend.

>>727837003
>Mass automation will result in massive price declines for goods and services.
True, but where do the massive price declines for goods and services come from? From a collapse in the price of labor. Labor is always the most expensive component, that's why they're willing to spend trillions on a gamble to replace it. Everything under the umbrella of "AI" is labor-saving technology.
You can't just "create new jobs" that cost as much to sustain as the old jobs, that's expensive labor which defeats the purpose of the technology employed to save it.

You say "as always" but historically the new jobs that were created in the wake of labor-saving technology were further and further removed from physical work, becoming more based on knowledge or thinking rather than hard labor. This is because the nature of the labor-saving technology was physical. Machines could move but not speak. They could card wool and weave cloth, but not design a scarf or come up with a slogan to sell it. Now they can speak and write and mimic a train of thought. In research contexts they can even see, hear, and employ cognition to complete real world tasks. What unique ability, then, is left for the human to sell as valuable labor?

Only the fact that they are human, i.e. occupying a social role that satisfies other humans' social needs by their role as a fellow human. For the poor this means occupying a space of perpetual inferiority, for the middle class this means acting as a rubber stamp in a pretense of political participation, for the wealthy this means occupying leadership roles and deriving satisfaction from being above other humans, and competing with one another in games of superiority. That's really it, that's all that's left.

Serious question, I want you to imagine a job that a human can do, of course for much more money than a machine would cost, but the hiring corporation in question hires humans anyway. What does that job look like?

Another way to think about it. Let's replace "robot" with "third worlder" in this thought experiment. Is there any job companies prefer to hire expensive domestic labor for, if they can get away with it? Or do they outsource every single possible thing? And now that jobs are outsourced, do domestic workers only clock in 4 hours a day and get paid for 8? Did their wages go up or down relative to productivity, in the last thirty years of mass outsourcing and digitization? Now consider that machine and digital labor is even cheaper and more plentiful than third-worlders. What do you think will happen to wages as a result?
>>
>>727838223

You gloss over it with "more or less" but that's the difference. There are still technically human beings there overseeing things and operating machines. And also working in corporate jobs which haven't been entirely replaced yet. Replacing all these paid human workers with machines is a massive cost savings for the owners and directly reaps the value of their labor as pure profit.

AI "Works" to the extent that it's an EXTREMELY useful tool for people who know what they're doing to get the basics out and implement simple run-of-the-mill stuff quickly.

The problem, is that it's ALSO good enough to shit out basic-to-intermediate output for mouth-breathing retards, who have since decided to offload 100% of their thinking onto it and, if asked, would be UNABLE to critique, optimize, or even explain anything in front of them.

This is hitting schools, junior employees, and offshore teams like crack through a black neighborhood and we see these people set to be in roles with influence within the next decade.

I *like* AI, I find it useful, but I can't help but feel like I'm standing on the edge of total lobotomization of an entire generation below me as everyone is pushed into copy-pasting messages from the oracle as much as possible for their entire childhood.

Dystopian sci-fi usually imagines the future as overcrowded hives but in reality the population is cratering globally, even India has negative demographics at this point. AI being the future doesn't mean these investments aren't incredibly fucking stupid. None of these companies have any real way of making any of this shit profitable. Even if you do somehow create AGI, how the fuck are you gonna make all that money back? Would that even be ethical now that you've created a conscious robot? Meanwhile were creating these huge data centers that consume an insane amount water that it also poisons after its been used. Meanwhile, electricity rates skyrocket because the data centers are eating up the majority of the power grid.

And all this to do what? Having zoomers cheat on their exam? Tricking chatbots into saying nigger? I'm sure their will be, if not already are uses for AI but the level of money going into it is just crazy.
>>
>>727839345
>You can make something more accessible even if it is accessible.
The creation process is an integral part of art, and typing a prompt into an AI has no soul, there's no story to the art and no passion when into its creation.
The end product isn't the only thing about art that makes it art.

Which do you think holds more value, a man with no arms using his mouth or feet to paint a beautiful picture after years of practice, or a man with no arms saying "hey siri generate an image of a painting for me"
Which holds more value, a hand crafted mug made by a local pottery shop where you can see the human imperfections, or a mass produced factory slop mug?
Which holds more value, a cheap ikea couch or handcrafted furniture made by a carpenter?

AI slop is art in the same way that a cheap ceramic coffee cup is pottery. No one looks at shit made in a factory by someone pushing a button and says "wow now THATS art!", it doesn't register as having any artistic value at all because its cheaply made mass produced slop.

The only thing stopping someone from picking up a pencil and learning to draw is their own lack of ambition or dedication to learning a craft. Literally anyone can learn to make art, no one is born with talent. AI generated images will never hold any artistic value, at best they will trick people into thinking its something made by a real person, but the moment they find out that it wasn't it stops having any value to them.

No one will ever give a shit about AI generated images as an art form. No one will ever be an artist for using AI anymore than someone would be considered a potter for pushing the button on the coffee cup machine. Art hasn't been "democratized" or "made more accessible", its just been devalued as a career path.

The funniest thing about the whole AI race is how little of a technological moat they have.

Their entire success revolves around monopolizing the hardware because literally anyone with enough GPUs can become competitive in the space in a matter of months.

They are never ALLOWED to make money because doing so would mean giving up the race to buy every gpu on planet earth in order to stop your competitors from doing it first and pulling ahead.

when people say AI they mean nvidia gpu

like "AI replaced my job" they mean Nvidia gpu replaced their job.

>All art is real art, using a new tool luddites dislike doesn't disqualify art as art.
Yes, if you want to be a real pedantic faggot about things, anything can technically be art. I could take a shit on your front door step tomorrow and call it art if I wanted to.

But if we're going by this logic, how has AI made art more accessible if anything is art? I thought that the issue was that art was inaccessible before AI, but how can this be the case if all art is real art? Seems like an expensive waste of time when everyone is already a real artist.
>>
>>727840838
Part of art is playing into the strengths of your medium. If you aren't doing that and you're just selecting whatever takes the least amount of work for everything what's the point man

Most people who like AI have had it make their lives better. You're being a useful idiot for corporations who want the public to be against AI so they can regulate it to their benefit. You should support open source AI so it benefits all of humanity.

In India? Perhaps, you don't seem very tech literate rakesh. Here in first world literally every male ages 15 - 40 knows what steam is.

I don't believe this and I'm not pedantic. There is absolutely no logical fundamental difference between using in AI and a pencil or a camera.

They're creating circumstances to rape you, so you ask for THEIR solution that benefits them the most

It's not about turning a profit, never was. It's about categorizing internet users data, manufacturing consensus and launching hypertargeted influence campaigns, creating and supporting artificial social bubbles.
If you have enough matrix multiplicators in your compute array - you will win elections. Thats it. Thats the elevator sales pitch and political leadership bought it wholesale - hook, line and sinker.

Yes there is lmao.
There is actually a massive fundmental difference between these things.
>AI art: you type a prompt in and a machine generates an image based on other images its been trained on
>pencil: you the artist take your imagination and put it to paper, every detail is shaped and molded by your own personality and experiences, your soul speaks through your art and it gives viewers a glimpse at how you see the world
>photograph: an actual moment in time captured on film, a real place, a real event, the actual light from that moment recorded and archived for future viewing.

I didn't expect much but I'm still surprised at just what little cultural influence AI art has had. There's been a flood of "art" on the internet in the last 3 years that's well exceeded the last 20 years before AI, and yet none of them have had as much impact as one dude badly drawing an anime character from a low angle.

Are you talking about the Frieren thing? Those kinds of trends have existed by the hundreds in AI communities.
>>
>>727842283
The problem with AI art is that everyone doing it is desperately trying to pretend that it's not AI art because they're ashamed of it.

it's not allowed to influence anything because that would require being at least somewhat open about it

I can go more fundamental
>use wood, graphite, fingers, and brain
>use thousands of tons of intricate etched silicon, a handful of water, a smaller subset of etched silicon, some coal/nuclear/hydroelectric, more etched silicon for your fingers to type on, fingers, and your brain
Wow these seem pretty different in scale.

>>727841956
You are a drooling retard. You are trying to conjure up empty words to twist and mold reality into that you want it to be. Just because you said magic word "fundamental" doesn't prove your overall point. Typing words and spinning machine generation roulette doesn't have any artistic process and thus it's not art. There's no artistic expression.

AI is actually making the internet so gay that I've recently been going entire days without checking my computer because everything online has gotten so soulless and shitty that its not even fun to browse the internet anymore, and I feel like I'm mostly doing it out of habit and getting annoyed that nothing that used to be fun online is still fun today.

I feel like if the internet keeps dying at this pace there will be no appeal left at all in a few years and I will basically only be using it to communicate with friends and family, but otherwise it will have nothing to offer me anymore.

The internet was already flooded with shitty bots making everything suck before this big AI boom, now shits just getting full on dystopian and I'm losing hope that the internet will ever get better.

They have nowhere near similar results and the tools are not built for the same purposes. You're retarded. You're generalizing just enough for completely philosophically vapid teenagers to agree with you, but if you generalize any more or less it immediately becomes clear the two methodologies are completely and utterly disparate. You need all of society's backing just to operate even local models.
>>
>>727842563
Agreed on all of this but I think the bigger influence is just third worlders desu.

The amount of AI stuff I see PALES in comparison to the amount of thirdies making sure their engagement slop garbage is everywhere you look so they can scrape together pennies in ad revenue. Even without AI they would be brute forcing the same amount of absolute trash onto your feed
>>
>>727842628
Both are tools for recording and communicating visual information. Cameras capture light into images while pencils make marks to represent what you see.

>>727842651

>>727842657
Literally every single thing you just said is wrong. There isn't an iota of intelligence in your brain.
>>
>>727839749
I can now get something in my head into a viewable medium in a few minutes without spending thousands of hours mastering an artform only to literally never be satisfied with my own work. >>
>>727842731

>>
>>727842776
You have no control over the process. You cannot even understand the process. You had no part in forming the process. AI is similar to a mass production line. Sure, you can pull the level, but you didn't make the shovel. You didn't make the machines that made the shovel. You didn't design the shovel that comes out.
>>
>>727842640
Whats the point of making AI shit online if there's no one to show it to? Whats the point of even using social media if 99% of the people you interact with aren't real people and its all a giant skinnerbox scam to keep you "engaged with the content" so you look at more ads?

I'm not using the Internet less often because AI makes me angry, I'm using it less often because there's nothing of value online anymore. Instead of seeing actual shit made or written by people online, its all bots posting shit made by other bots on an account made by a bot so some jackass in India can make $14 USD/month by flooding the internet with slop.

Literally what is there to do online these days thats worth the time? Surfing the internet used to be fun, there used to be shitloads of different websites with all sorts of weird shit to find, and it was all uniquely made by different people.
Now its all been reduced to 3-4 major social media sites, and everything on those websites is botslop or reposts of reposts from the other websites.

I know you're just acting retarded, but I can't imagine why anyone would be excited for the death of the internet like this.
>>
>>727842840
Hahaha god you indians are so dumb it's unreal
>>
>>727842840
But they aren't similar, you have effectively argued that they are being used for similar ends. Which isn't actually an argument that the two tools are similar at all. Please understand your own argument before you vomit it where I can see it.
