I remember spending a whole hour throwing balls at the Spear Pillar Palkia because I was insanely unlucky. Quick Ball failed turn one, had it asleep and threw tons of ultra balls and nothing caught. Then used my ten timer balls, they didn’t work either. Went back to ultra balls and got it. Then I caught Dialga with the first quick ball.
I only use normal pokeballs because they're the most iconic

Only problem is that the reroll happens the moment you step onto the tile to challenge Lance, and the game saves afterwards, so if you fuck up rerolling is a bitch. Also, you can't call trainers while you're in the Elite Four buildings, so you can't verify your seed or advance frames normally through Professor Elm or Juggler Irwin. You CAN bring two Chatots, but I found the upgraded League to be a super ballache that I couldn't give up any party members for those birdbrains.So the solution I found to this was a more obscure program called RadioSeed. It uses the Pokegear's radio stations to both confirm the frame and to advance it. With that I got all three roamers shiny, then snagged them. Entei was an absolute bitch because it knew Roar and I wanted to catch it in a Heavy Ball, which I get the Heavy Ball penalty for because Entei doesn't weigh enough.
