Sand Stream only made it more powerful, but after that its been a slow decline.This cant take away how unbelievably strong ttar is, both ingame and comp, during the early gens. Its speed is ass but thats why it works so well as a wallbreaker. If you outspeed, the opponent is dead. If you get hit, youre probably gonna live, and then the opponent is dead. These days ttar is basically a knock off machine, but thats power creep for you.Meanwhile ingame this thing has been getting Rock Slide and EQ by level up since gen 2. Any game where Larvitar is accessible early (HGSS and GoD come to mind) is usually a fun choice. Pupitar is pretty good and can handle itself ingame with incredible moves.
