These people pop up all the time in any kind of extraction shooter or big MMO/crafting game like Ark/minecraft/etc and even Rust. Without fail, it always devolves to the human, the PvP, component being the only thing that matters, and Arc Raiders is no exception. It's overstated how often people assume the game is just rats or people crying about fighting. It's a constant juggle between people being naive and people who just like being a nigger like every other Russian infested survival shooter, but it's usually more fun in the end to potentially make a random friend and do a task together at the risk of losing some junk items, than to assume everyone is playing the game like Tarkov. You don't really lose all that much progress even if you're the biggest baby bitch that ends up getting mopped up by people playing the game normally, but anyone who says it's more enjoyable to shoot people at a disadvantage don't play for excitement.

Ive been extract camping a lot lately. Stella is my favorite map for it, not giving away my spot but its getting more and more known now. Ive stopped playing as much as I used to because of no craft loadout option. the menu UI in this game is so bad, bugs everywhere as well. Trigger nades not being nerfed just goes to show devs dont playtest their game. Swedish dev teams are fucking awful. Embark, fatshark, arrowhead, all very anti-consumer and none of them playtest their own games. Extract camping is the ultimate salt generator. from 12 year olds to reddit dad gamers losing their shit in prox voice is satisfying. I literally sometimes sit at an extract for 30 minutes and pile up 3-5 bodies. Dumbfuck console reddit gamers just go to extract thinking its safe, even with 3 bodies on the ground. Once they see a body is not looted they cant help themsleves. Also try using Synth fuel canisters (red ones). Perfect for ambushing. 6/10 game though. Overrated as hell.

the PvP element is what makes the game unique, but it's just not well balanced and lacks the depth to really carry this game. I honestly don't see this game holding many PvE players attention for long, so the longer you wait to play it and burn through the content, the worse it will be for you.

Not true at all. Runescape outside of the wilderness sometimes has the same social experiment in the Grand Exchange. People offering to double money if you trust them for example, or asking you to follow them for a giveaway and being unsure if they'll actually give shit away or if they'll troll after walking around for 10 minutes with the group.

This game could easily have no PvP but have the same social experiment just through whether or not you're honest. "Oh sorry I don't have a dog collar" when you're holding one, and checking loot containers with them to scoop the collar before they find it. People like you don't get. This game is friendly for one simple reason, it doesn't have systemic pvp incentives. For instance, if you had limited number of extraction seats in a round the pvp would not be optional but mandatory to survive, and stardew valley redditors would be forced to either shoot or opt out.
The issue is not that you are being shot at, but that the game itself presents no reason to shoot thus any aggression is random, asystemic and catches you off-guard which makes it frustrating
