This tool isn't anything right now. 09% of the work is coming from GTA V as a game and the AI is "replacing" the textures with a new visual.
As with all AI, the footage cuts after a few seconds of each scene because AI melts and can't maintain any form of consistency after a certain amount of time regardless of how far it's come
You couldn't do shit with this for an actual game. At most it could eventually be a "skin" for a pre-existing game if it ever gets consistency down properly

For coding its great, but you gotta use it right. Can't just copy paste or vibecode if you don't know what you are doing. There is lots of fake hype.
I just wish I had the time to make a cool game for myself.

>>731921520
Its that really aggressive rhetoric. Thats like saying if I use photoshop for some parts of my game I didn't create anything.
You know what I did back then? I had to do with free shit I picked up somewhere and had to adjust what I actually wanted instead. That and begging for people to make stuff for me, and that wasn't that swell either.
In your opinion if I don't make everything 100% I didnt create anything lol I never could finish my game but a couple hundred of people enjoyed the demo at least.

>>731921543
Imagegen for sprites and face/body images that stay consistent for that character.
That stuff works even locally on our pc nowadays. Sound effects too.
Thats what I would use it for and fuck around more. I currently guess the "cool shit" part for me is in coding. Made it much more easier. At least until the top guys catch up and just expect more speed.
I actually forgot, I do use llms to translate japanese games locally. Thats way better than atlas/deepl since japanese is so depended on context. So thats cool.

>>731921603
You mean the video from OP? Yeah I guess its useless? Its some experimental thing to fuck around. 1 Minute consistency (mostly) is still cool though.

>The generative stuff always rings hollow
I disagree. Every element of a game doesn't have to ring with artistic intent. I'm perfectly fine with a game using a common font. A custom font doesn't add enough to the game for it to be worthwhile and I would rather the dev focus on making the game better in other ways. I feel the same way about AI use: if the game has enough stuff in it that makes it fun then I don't care if they have AI generated art in it. Considering wtf the western game studios have been putting out, the AI generated stuff might actually look better.

I would have no problem if the art in a game looked like pic related.

Why would it be bad for the human race that there is a tool that can generate nice looking art? It's not removing the ability to create art using manual methods, and it probably will just make "artisanal art" even more valuable, just like rich people will still commission painted portraits even though photography has been a thing for over a century.

>>731925362
I can already design a robot that sucks my cock for me and it doesn't need AI to do it. Sucking dick isn't enough.
What would really sell me is if it was a robot that could suck my dick and record hundreds of BJ sessions, analyzing the subtle details like my pulse, when my cock throbs or gets harder, when it gets softer, and how long it takes me to cum to optimize its technique, evolving into the ultimate blowjob machine that could suck my cock perfectly 100% of the time. I'd be more hyped for AI games if you meant you fags would then fuck off forever and infinitely consume from your own private generated trough, but seeing the AI threads that exist already, I have a sneaking suspicion that this will just result in you people desperately sharing "games" for some form of personal recognition

So are artists only in it for the money or is it about the passion for creating? Because if it's the latter, why would artists stop creating so-called "real art" if AI becomes (even more than it already is) widespread?

I'm actually kidding about the money laundering part. Although people might overpay for art as a means of obfuscating payment for other services, the act itself of overpaying for something isn't, and shouldn't be, a crime. Having shit taste, buying things while drunk, having no sense of value, all of these things might be undesirable, but they are not crimes.
>Money laundering doesn't exist
>Hear me out
As a backstory, I'm independently wealthy and have been for almost 10 years thanks to crypto. I have permanent residency and/or citizenship in 3 countries and a limited residency in a 4th. I own property and invest in businesses in all 3 of those countries. I move money frequently, and deal with the authorities overseeing such. There's a start up in Scandinavia that wants to position itself as a contractor to the EU for sniffing out "money laundering", and they wanted to fill an executive position. I got in touch, and explained that my unique situation made me a good candidate because, while I myself do not launder money, I am well acquainted with how someone might launder money. I chatted with them for a while, and came to the realization that what they really wanted to do was to connect online identities to real ones and that was the service that the EU actually wanted. They didn't give a shit about looking over invoices and auditing shipping manifests, for example. They want to know XxX_69BongR1pper420_XxX's national identification number, and have a dossier of his activites and contacts. This didn't make any sense to me, why the EU would want something like this, until the Canadian trucker saga played out. Then, it became clear. They just want a "Fuck This Guy's Life" button for anyone that gives the EU a headache. It's just doxx. They don't actually care about the underlying crime for the money laundering.
>But you said money laundering doesn't exist
>What gives?
See my next post

Money laundering is supposedly "fraudulent" payments for legal good or services as a means to pay for something that is illegal. Note, that the underlying crime is something that is already illegal. Murder, drugs, government corruption, stuff like that. Those things shouldn't happen, and the authorities should attack them aggressively. But those things aren't money laundering. If someone buys an absurdly overpriced fecal painting, produced by the son of a very powerful politician, that's just shit heh taste. Now, if that son influences his father to do something corrupt, then that's a crime. But, that's a crime committed by the father, not the son, neither the person paying for the shit art.
>But, you can establish a motive for the crime by considering the movement of money
No, not really. If the father does something illegal, the evidence of his actions are all his own, and can be discovered by their effects.

In our current regime, stuff like FATCA and KYC creates enormous barriers to business and legal financial transactions, because the intermediary agents (banks, firms, governments, businesses) all want to avoid the _appearance_ of money laundering, despite that fact that nothing is being laundered. They are fearful of this, not because they might accidentally launder money, but because they fear an _appearance_ of it will give regulatory or legal authorities a reason to make their life hell, just like the Canadian truckers. Meanwhile, the actual people involved in genuine crime often get a pass.

If authorities want to crack down on ilegal activities, that's great, but the inclusion of "money laundering" is just a trick to get otherwise law abiding people scared.

>Generative AI can now;
Do a lot of stuff, yes. But the degree to which it can do stuff reliably is vastly overstated by shills and zealots, not to mention the degree to which it can do things better than the alternatives.

And this is all in contrast to how improvements have slowed down to a relative crawl, and data centres are already running into bottlenecks of power and water availability, which really puts into question how realistic it even is to double the number of current data centres to maybe achieve another notable leap in AI.
And even if we did double the number of data centres, how much of a leap would it even be? And would it be a notable one? And would it be worth it?

Consumer hardware is already dying on the altar of AI. Are we about to double electricity costs and make water expensive as well?

NTA but when the AI companies are literally demanding free electricity and want to double or triple energy output, we are firmly at the physical limits of this tech. Node shrinks are hitting a wall, too. Intel was talking up 2nm 5 years ago and we still don't have a product for it, TSMC will likely have something out late this year, and unfortunately it looks like it's going to underperform the projected specs by a lot. If the base performance/efficiency can't get better, then the only avenue left is coding proficiency and that usually goes down over time because you move away from machine coding, to APIs, to libraries, to vibe coding. Imagine, in the future, you'll vibe code your AI app which vibe codes your shitty website for 3MB of text and hundreds of vulnerabilities.

It's really not that hard to pick out the obvious tells even if you try to hide them among squiggles. These are some shapes and strokes that a human artist wouldn't think to draw, especially when sketching an element such as the human face, which inherently calls for greater attention to detail. They don't follow the natural flow of an artist's hand or the subject's natural facial structures.

You're stuck trying to replicate a look, not considering how it is born, and how people who have studied art might attempt to read it.

No anatomical issues in this one, however, there are still obvious AI artifacts where the model runs into regions of uncertainty. Mind you, I don't need to search for them in this case, I saw from the thumbnail that this is an AI gen. Either way:

>the scales on the side of the bodysuit are mush
>ditto for the shoelace
>the twists on the braid shift direction midway
>the elements on the strap are unstructured
>ditto for the knob on the glove, probably the most obvious error in the image

Also, a bonus tip: you can use the colour sampler and run it across a flat colour element, and if the colour values warble from pixel to pixel, it's very likely due to the noise inherent to how these models generate images. Works even in JPGs because artifacting generally occurs at colour "border regions", the large flat elements are left uniform. In human-made art, those are almost always of a single colour value.

I look at AI generated stories, they are all unreadable shit.
I've seen the best of AI and it's all shit. if you want to burn trillions of dollars to try and achieve something that's slightly less shit go right ahead, but don't expect me to treat your product as anything other than the subpar dogshit that it is.

But that's not what I was asking for. How is "thing" not perfect in his webm?

that's your colleague's fault, not AI's. He is supposed to do at least the 5% effort required to proofread it. A few years back he'd actually have to spend his time writing it himself.

Or, alternatively, pull up a form letter and fill in the blanks in about ten seconds. It’s not like a form letter is more obviously impersonal than an AI letter.

The retard replies to this that have negative wit are worse than the AI. The AI is easily correctible when challenged, but a human with an IQ too low to effectively banter, jest, or troll will try anyway.

Also just for kicks, to further illustrate the colour picker and model noise thing, here's the same image but I crunched levels quite a bit. The focus is on the red background on the left half, and her arm and leg on the right half. The noise you see there is often a dead giveaway of artwork being AI (assuming someone didn't put some extra film grain on top of the image or something).

The face of Cammy in the lower left is by a human artist (qewie on *booru), given the same colour levels treatment. The noise is absent on the flats, and you can actually see the edges of the brush strokes clearly where the artist gradually gave her a blush.

If OpenAI fails it will only make Google stronger you retard, they are a direct competition.

Did you believe the videogames industry was going to collapse when Ubisoft stocks went to shit? That's not how industries work you retard. The investors will just move on to the next big player, which in the AI world is Google.
>>
>>731921001
95% of this happened with a normal google search
>>
>>731937104
You don’t understand the market. Ubisoft failing casts some doubt on video games as a market, but they’re what, like 5% market share? OpenAI is 60% and some change. Open AI is almost the entire market and is wildly unprofitable.
>>
>>731936949
if he's wasting time on something that takes 10 seconds to do manually, that's on him as well. You can use AI very stupidly / needlessly and tons of companies and people do. The hype train is huge and there are lots of snake oil salesmen. Mostly because they believe the same shit as you.

Your problem is that you want to think of it as like a substitute worker, like another individual you just give a task to and then fuck off to go play videogames while it does everything. No. It's a tool. You get out of it a result that reflects the tool user's skill. Random jeets can't make the same quality output as trained professionals with AI. Non artists cant make the same quality generated content as artists and visionaries can.
It is a tool. They should teach kids in school how to use it correctly. The key is to be skeptical and proofread it. You are like a director picking out a best take of something you wrote, and what you pick reflects your personal expression

why not just do it and then it's done, you faggot?
>>731936870
>are you seriously saying it's literally incapable of getting the right dates?
it MIGHT be incapable of getting the right dates, it MIGHT be incapable of getting a million other things wrong.
why the fuck is it better to hit a button and slot machine roll until you get something that looks vaguely correct instead of taking 30 seconds to fill out a template?
the ONLY reason why you'd need the slop machine to do it for you is if your English is fucking shit.
>>
>>731937340
Every time market instability is caused by a major firm failing, it is a result of some segment of the investor base losing confidence. If Ubisoft declared complete and utter bankruptcy tomorrow, I can near guarantee that stocks across the entire industry would dip slightly. Market contagion. It’s an iron rule of investing.
>>
>>731937038
I don't think I ever mentioned anything about AGI or anything. Even just the current common approaches of AI (LLMs and diffusion) are well enough to have lasting impact and gamechanging effects on industries once certain advancements will be made. One of them is figuring out the current memory bottleneck. Consider that 80% of the current AI issues is memory bottleneck, context limitations, forgetting shit, hallucinating shit. The other 20% is how these algos are actually applied which is what genie 3 is starting to show has a lot of room for evolution left.
>>
>>731937396
>why the fuck is it better to hit a button and slot machine roll until you get something that looks vaguely correct
Because it takes like 1/10th the time and effort? Sometimes to make a better result even, depending on your personal skill level at what it's doing for you.
and if you will accept "vaguely correct" as good enough, that's on you for being a shitter.
>>
>>731937519
Except it takes way more than three seconds to generate, read, regenerate, read, regenerate, etc.
>>
>>731937454
A segment, yes. Nothing is going to collapse due to a segment, and you know it. Your enemy is not OpenAI, which is a small as fuck fish in the AI world
>but muh marketshare!

Your real enemy is Google.
>>
>>731937570
again, you use it for tasks that take much longer than 10 seconds to do manually. Where it saves tremendous time.
And clicking regenerate takes like 2 seconds on cloud services.

>>731937621
Investor confidence would be wiped by open AI going away suddenly. Getting access to a large share of an unprofitable market doesn’t suddenly make everyone forget that the things you are absorbing lost them money to begin with.
>>
What you do not realize about AI generated content is that only a very small percentage of people genuinely care about the slight imperfections that AI produces. This is undeniable when you look at how much AI generated content is actually consumed. If a significant amount of people actually gave a shit, the internet wouldn't be filled with the stuff because there would be no one to consume it and therefore it would be unprofitable.

(You) are in the minority, and there is fuckall you can do about it.
>>
>>731937662
Nigger, you’re the one that outlined this plan of action as superior to the standard.
>>
>>731937796
Anon, the internet is filled because it is utterly trivial to produce. Whether or not it ever gets eyes on it doesn’t matter, you can make 200 in the time it takes for people to make a standard internet sketch.
>>
>>731937753
neither of the big sharks (Google and Microsoft) in the game have the problems openAI has tho, and you know it.
>>
>>731937868
But it is being generated with the intention of making money. And it can only make money if it is being consumed.

The most profitable youtube channel producing shorts last year was an AI slop channel.
>>
>>731937907
Microsoft DEFINITELY has those problems, and I’m willing to bet Google does as well. But my feelings on the matter are trivial, if AI goes from a sure thing to a wildly risky bet just by precedent, do you think investors will be as positive no matter who is at the wheel?
>>
>>731938035
If it costs you no time and no money to create, no time and no money to upload, at no point do you need to care. If it gets eyes, free money. If it doesn’t, it cost you pennies per video.
>>
>>731937796
Why are you ok with lower quality? What do you get out of it?
>>
>>731938105
That's irrelevant to the point I am trying to make. The fact that it does make money means that people are willing to consume AI generated content. A lot of people.
>>
>>731938127
Why do you assume AI will never improve despite the vast improvements you've already witnessed? Why do you assume there will be no quality control? If it offends you this much, why aren't you creating the next work of art by hand?
>>
>>731938281

>>731938273
Short fees are algorithmically generated. It is guaranteed that your slop is paraded in front of somebody’s eyes. If people linger on one video, it gets boosted in that same algorithm and shown to others. If your short is funny enough to grab the attention of 6-8 year olds for 15 seconds, you’ve found a market that the algorithm will target for you
You only need to achieve this goal a few times to make returns on your minuscule investment, and this state of affairs is only sustained by AI products being in a loss lead configuration to amass market share.
>>
>>731938372

Culture war is reactionism on both sides. The truth is right and left agree on many things but contrarianism, "red pills", and needing to cheer for your favorite side have muddied the waters and caused too much division. Both sides hate AI and that's a good thing. Don't fall for cheap propaganda made to make your feel like you're being a "contrarian".
