What would cause a cop to gun down a normal walking NPC? I've never seen this before. It wasn't one the shitty scripted events you see repeated over and over. It was just a normal fat NPC in a blue shirt, and a cop just shot him and walked on.

I was about 1 second too late to see what actually triggered it, I was just turning the corner and they were right beside each other. What could've triggered this? Is it possible the NPC "bumped" the cop or somehow damaged him? I have triple digit hours in cyberpunk and never seen the cops turn on a normal pedestrian NPC like this before.

You get it for Dex, not for Meredith. Even when negotiating with her under the bridge you agree that keeping the bot is your payment for helping her. The corpo conflict isn't about the bot, it's about the convoy as a whole. Either Meredith can recover most of it and find out who ratted it's the guy in the trunk or the other guy takes over because she fucked up by losing the convoy in the first place.
