You are referring to your own desire for it to succeed, and a marketing pitch/hook "My game is more advanced so it has to sell"
This is no guarantee.
The way you check if the market wants your game is by handing it to unbiased 3rd party with a demo and seeing how the reception is.

Finishing to make a fun game is a tremendous achievement in itself, without selling it. but if you depend on its success you have to treat it like a business.

Currently making a game that is a mix between Elin and Rimworld.
You basically control one character or a handful of characters and navigate a procedural world to grow your character.
I am prototyping occupations now.

You should be able to accept an occupation called "waiter" with a predictable loop,

That's the thing you have to combat. When we've spent years gaming as an escape we've conditioned our brains to see gaming as the only real source of dopamine, but with excessive dopamine release it will have less of an effect over time. This is why you find yourself getting more depressed over time.

For me it took about a year of continuous effort before I started seeing learning and exercise as greater sources of dopamine. It takes more initial effort, but the release you get from these sources is slower and way longer lasting. Again you just have to start taking the initial small steps. Start by just doing 30 minutes of work every day. Once you've got a routine down you can start adding on more tasks. It's all about building up new routines slowly and consistently over time.

Pretty much all systems use the same algorithms. Just go through the docs and look at the system that the dev used, then use the same algo to recreate it in Godot. At the end of the day math is math.

I dunno. I'm getting better at 3D and didn't feel like drawing it out ha ha. I might be replacing the 2D head at some point. The 2D head is wonderful, and I really like the style, but I made it when I couldn't model. I have modeled several enemies since then and I understand how. 3D models are a LOT easier to deal with in a 3D space (who would have guessed?). I also might not replace it, and just keep the 2D head for Osh and Ellie. I don't know. We will see what time brings.

The us gives 10k to founders if they show up at crunches, meets and the like. Unsure how it is for gaming only, but start up funding is top notch. You could get a partner from Australia, Canada or eu, goverment funding for whites is at an all time high. Patreon and the like might work and could be combines. I doubt banks will talk to you without collateral. How much do you need? If it's sub 100k, it's easiest to find a publisher (tech demo and slice, ideally a smol crowd), a rich guy or ask game companies, like cdpr or gog or epic (if you hate sales). Like partial light armor gives you 130% health and a full body suit 600%. Numbers are arbitrary in this example. Another mechanic would be survival (food, sleep) giving you another possibly negative multiplier. Gameplay is similar to final fantasy 12 and parasite eve. Tb arpg.

in your system armor reduces poison ticks as a % of your total hp. it should not affect things.
then, only the relevant damage types multiply by the damage reduction to get the actual damage.

I think it's a consequence of the picture I took washing out the colors. I dug up an old laser printer to print the label and the blacks are surprisingly dark (at least compared to my ink printer that had no black ink) but I took the picture in a very bright room. The case itself came from some lame anime DVD my sister bought from a library when it was clearing out its inventory so, of course, the case was beat up and even had some weird Sharpie marks that I had to clean off with alcohol wipes. I didn't particularly care as I just wanted to at least get a sense on how everything looked when assembled before I make the final case art and buy the actual cases with the SD card holder.
Now I need to figure out how to buy an ESRB rating.

Sure, plate won't protect you for poison. Poison could attack base hp, not total hp, so that's an issue that can be handled.
The idea is that some armor makes you near inpenetrable by some (physical) elements, but a flurry of blows will be problematic anyway. Think sword and plate. One hit to the torso should be fine, multiple will soon start to hurt disproportionately more with each successive hit.
