Depends entirely on the series really. Even mundane stuff like Afrika and the PSN Vol. 1 shot to the moon for no reason because of assholes who made Youtube videos about them during Covid. Now they're like $280. Same deal with Boxboy JP since it came with the Amiibo and all three games. Same deal with Rhythm Heaven Fever just because it had a smaller run than usual on the Wii.

I am not a fan of Youtubers during the Covid era who talked about video games, they genuinely ruined the physical space in general because of how much attention they brought to certain games.

It doesn't even make sense, just play those games on flashcarts.

For those that want to transfer to Bank and then Home, that can be done with unofficial games as well, so there's legit no benefit to using the official Pokemon catridges.

Obviously if you have it, that's cool, but I sold my Emerald since I didn't even have a system to play it on, still have X and AS. But really if I didn't, my modded 3DS can still play those games just fine.

Don't forget the "OR BEST OFFER" part.

The large number (in psychology) is called "an anchor" - designed to make you think that if the first number you see is a very large number, you immediately think that the thing must be very good or very rare or very unique or very desirable to command such a number. So you immediately attach the thing to high value. Its a marketing trick designed to prime you to spend more than the thing is actually worth. It's also why ebay (quite shadily) "hides" the "completed sales" search function. EBay makes more money when you sell items for higher prices because they get percentages, not flat fees for listings. They have every reason to let this anchor number nonsense proliferate.

>For those that want to transfer to Bank and then Home
While I don't know the exact process of how to go about doing the moving to Pokemon Home step without an official game, I like that the process of genning mons is pretty simple outside of that. I learned how to make a shiny legendary from all of their home games (including event ones where applicable) so my brother can have a complete collection, with his own OT and making sure everything was as legit as possible while being as close to perfect as possible.
It's a fun exercise trying to make mons that pass the legal checks, in some cases anyway. Most of the time you can just grab a wild spawn sample of the shiny mon, make it shiny and crank up its IVs, and even the most strict variant of PKHex will not know the difference.

>>
>>733275472
Legality is kind of a moving target. Aside from the "if buying isn't owning, then pirating isn't stealing" mindset, every country on Erth has different laws on the subject. Who got what where and how did they do it and why did they do it makes a very big difference. Nintendo can't sell for damages if no money changes hands when an emulator or coder transfers base code. Nintendo didn't patent the scripting language they used, they themselves licensed it. And so many fan edits and remakes and fanfic games exist because Nintendo has no legal ground to stand on: between freedom of speech, freedom of expression, parody, fair use, social commentary, etc, everything is covered one way or the other.

Nintendo, unfortunately for them, are in the legal predicament of having to PROVE real and actual losses.

If n emulator is designed and invented by a person on their own time, with their own equipment, and they release a thing that other people can get all without any money changing hands, Nintendo never lost out on potential revenue because nothing was sold and nothing was purchased. No money changed hands.

If Nintendo makes no effort to make older games available to newer players, things like #stopkillinggames happens and its their own fault.

They've been losing the PR war of morale and goodwill for years. Think I'm kidding? Tell them you want to host a smash tournament and get back to me.
>>
>>733275747
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>
>>733275742
What you're describing is about as fun as paying some Chinese sweatshop to print high resolution proxy cards when you could just buy a pack and open big hit cards.

The "fun" of doing it the "official" way is that it is "real". The product is authentic. You enjoy the thrill and the experience of buying the game or the pack of cards, playing the games and opening the packs and enjoying the surprise of getting great wild catches or rare cards.

When you can approximate that, or generate that in some mechanical, purposeful way, you diminish the overall experience. You cheapen it for yourself.

It's like comparing the victory of going to a bar, meeting a gorgeous girl, talking her up, taking her home, and banging her brains out VS driving to a street corner and paying some crackhead $40 to wobble your knob. The end result is sort of the same, but the experience is WAY different.
>>
>>733276057
We're equating a shiny Mew to dating a hot chick? Alright, I guess.
>>
>>733276231
I'm drawing a contrast between doing things the "official" way vs the "unofficial" way.

Playing the video game, fresh from the box, as intended and coming across a wild shiny is a cool, fun thing.

When you can just go to a website, click a few buttons, type a prompt and wait for machine to go BRRRRR and you have a filled pokedex of shiny hundos, you didn't play the game. You didn't explore. You didn't watch the story unfold. You didn't adventure. You didn't trade. You didn't battle. You didn't earn anything. You didn't experience the highs and lows. You didn't fight your way through a team draining swarm of wild pokemon and make it to the boss fight and catch the hundo, or the shiny, or the legendary. You didn't do any of the things that make playing the game fun. You cheapened all of it by skipping to the end by manufacturing an outcome that no one in the community sees as legitimate or real or authentic or earned or won.

The kid who saves up allowance for a year to buy themselves a booster box of card packs for their birthday present to themselves, to spend the time carefully and gleefully to open each pack and ooh and aww over every pull, to dedicatedly put them gently and lovingly into sleeves and binder pages and build a collection has something that another kid spending $10 on aliexpress or wayfair or temu to buy 100 printed copies of base set first edition shadowless Charizard cards to put in a binder doesn't.

It’s the left joystick, though I’m retarded and google just showed a ton of results even for the hardware itself not just the rubber cap.

Don't sit on your own balls on the way out!

Yeah, there's plenty of spare parts. The trick is actually assembling it yourself, Nintendo uses obscure fucking screw types so you may need to order some specific screwdrivers to open it up.

Pirate and emulate, there is too many games I've got for <10$ that are now at three digits to say anything respectable of the second hand market.

Western resellers trying to get a quick buck by buying old games and reposting them at 5x the price. This is not exclusive to vidya though, they try to pull that shit with every single collectible/hobby.
You can get the same games with a 3x/20x discount in japan, the only caviat being that you actually need to know japanese.

Poser has no clue lol

Both are one piece, if you buy a cheap one it's smooth plastic. Feeling is different from the original. If you buy a slightly more expensive one (7euro?) It's rubber. Changing is kinda of a pain

Nintendo is unironically winning. Younger zoomers and gen alpha are just incapable of using a search engine and setting up emulators.

That being said, everyone on 4chan already knows how to use this shit and you're arguing with bad faith arguments from brown people.

One time I let my older brother borrow my Heartgold version because I'd already played it to death and years later I ask him for it back and learned he'd traded it in to GameStop for a discount on a new PS3 controller.
We are not a black family, btw.

I remember using stuff like ePSXe, VBA and Snes9x to play stuff old stuff FF, DBZ:LoG and Pokemon Ruby Version on WinXP. That was back in early 00s. Unless we had an equivalent to Horus Heresey, I do not think all of it was lost.
