Spread shouldn't be super exaggerated, but it also shouldn't be incredibly tight. Somewhere in the sweet spot where you'll miss a few pellets at mid range so as to not instakill someone, but also tight enough that if you're barrel stuffing somebody it will kill them. I could see an argument for slower movement speed and minimal penetration if the game has it. It should be a weapon that makes you think about how to both use and avoid it. The problem is, most people are fucking retards and throw themselves directly into it's barrel and get upset when it blows their ass apart.If it's a more large scale battlefield type game where there are lots of open areas with some CQB, it should have a tighter spread and deal good to instakill damage at mid range and absolutely fuck you up close. Most of these games have bullet physics and so shotguns should have a slow fire rate and slow projectiles. Slugs should extend the range at which it is viable. I could see an argument for not allowing scopes and again slower movement speed. You want it to be a weapon that is used primarily for point defense or clearing a building while also still giving you a chance to defend yourself if you're running out in the open to get to a new location.In both of these types of games, I think firing from the hip should make the gun have very high recoil and be very inaccurate. Won't be a problem if the person is in front of you, but makes it so you have to ADS at longer ranges. As a result make it so it has a slow ADS. This way you're less likely to just run and gun with it and more likely to play tactically with it. Pellets and slugs should always do headshot damage.
