>>733467719Maybe you should go back and examine the stuff releasing on PC & the other consoles at the time you were too poor for.
I recently found out 360 doubled PS3 sales in America. I had no idea PS3 did so poorly. And they squandered that fan base so quickly.
>>733467807man I wish I could discuss 7th gen games on /vr/. maybe in another 5 years.
Dead Rising on 360 was, to me, the game the ushered in HDTVs as the main display for consoles. I played in SD since I didn't own anything that accepted component cables, and I always had a ton of trouble reading Otis' calls due to the text being so small and fine.
>>733468520It was a slower process than most people realize. I worked at GameStop at the time and while Sony was releasing exclusive bangers for PS3 MS was going all in on kinect around 2010/2011. At the casuals were losing interest in gaming and the the core was gaining interest in Sony due to Uncharted 2, Demons Souls, etc and Microsoft was losing them due to waggle shit. The E3 2013 conferences were just the final nail in the coffin. They had a chance with the SeXbox but Nadella went all in on multiplats right when they had the ability to strike.
>>733471680It's just tragic. The 360 was such a cool console and they tried incredibly hard to have second party Japanese exclusives during the earlier years. I guess the higher ups at MS didn't understand sustainability and gaming because they had been operating purely on minimum investment growth since the 90s, while Sony had to trust Playstation because of their financial difficulties and perfect track record.
