I've doubt a single biological woman ever played a game like War in the East or Rule the Waves since enjoying military spreadsheet simulators is probably the most male-brained activity imaginable. It seems like girls will try out more casual strategy games though, especially ones that are character-focused like Crusader Kings or Fire Emblem, or board games like Risk/Diplomacy, in general it seems like girls are a lot more interested in board games in our digital era than boys since boys would rather just play vidya or the most autistic tabletop shit they can find.
