I just 100% Mario Galaxy 2, I underestimated The Perfect Run and took me more than an hour to do it.
Now I don't know what to play next, I guess Castlevania Portrait of Ruin, I was going to buy the upgrade for Xenoblade X and finally play it but there is a lot of noise about the quality of the update so now I'm not too sure.

The Castlevania Advance collection at the moment, just finished Harmony and moving on to Aria, which I've already played but it's kino so I'm happy to do it again.

Fortune's Weave. I have to say though there needs to be a general direct soon, the 2026 lineup is grim to look at on the first party side of things right now.

>Is Skyward Sword HD any fun? I have it on my backlog
Yeah I've been having a blast but i've experienced a few pace breakers. It starts with a lot of momentum and gets you swinging a sword around quickly, feels great to do, invested with the story. Then you get to that first boss and it's absolutely rage inducing because of how involved it is, a bit of a tall order to figure out. I was so butt blasted I went online to see if I was alone, and it relieved me to see that there's basically a whole subsection of youtube dedicated to tutorials on fighting this guy lmao, and some of the comments were indicative of the boss being so bullshit people refunded the game. After that hurdle the game picks up speed again, but I got stuck for a while, then I got to the dungeon, both dungeons are well designed and fun, but again I got stuck. Over all the game is a bit hot and cold, but the music, artstyle, controls, and puzzle design all carry me along.

A bunch of Sonics have been on sale on Switch. I just dont wanna buy a game that doesn't scale properly in Switch 2 Handheld mode. An upgrade to Sonic Origins would be awesome.
Some games are said to benefit otherwise. I've heard Colors Ultimate works better on Switch 2 with much better load times, and Superstars is also pretty nice. Superstars is an underplayed game anyhow. It had its issues but it's a solid 7.9/10 in my book.
>>
>>733523110
If it doesn't bother you it's fine. No, it doesn't scale up to the 1080p, and there's uneven pixel density scaling from 720p->1080p because you're not doubling the resolution, more like a 33% scale. So then you need to apply a bilinear filter to dodge the uneven pixels, and that makes the games look blurrier than they looked on the original Switch. And SS looked particularly nice on OLED because it's perfect uninterrupted 60fps, and really colorful.

I mean, it looks fine, but it's exactly like playing DS games on the 3DS in terms of blurryness.

Not that much at the moment. Trying to decide if I want to pick up X to take advantage of the upgrade pack or Air Riders. The problem is compounded with the mixed reports I've heard about visuals of the X patch, especially in handheld mode.

>What are you looking forward to, or most excited for in 2026 so far?
Fortune's Weave, although it depends a bit on what else gets shown of it. I'm also curious about the various big anniversaries for several series this year, but I don't really expect much from any of them.

>>
>>733516239
They're awesome on Switch 2, especially MGS2.
The only issue I find with them is that without analog triggers the Switch is missing a bunch of fundamental features. Originally PS2 had pressure-sensitive buttons, which are used on guns and to zoom in at certain times. They alleviated the lack of pressure-sensitive face buttons on other consoles with the Analog triggers so now that's just gone.

I can only hope that they get revived in some form later down the line. I'm not sure if the sluggish software sales trend will continue for the Switch 2, given its exclusive offerings have largely been niche titles so far, but maybe if it does that'll be the impetus to get a deal like that back up.

nah its isnt "hard," so to speak. its just that its basically impossible if you dont have the right gambits/units set up.
i played through the whole game and was ready to finish it but in the final battle i did no damage and had to replay the last stage all over again with the "correct" units.
the game lets you play how you like the whole way -- even the last stage -- but the very final boss requires a specific set up or else you cant win. pretty dumb design but the game is still cool.

It's really more the issue that since Nintendo cartridges are more expensive than the literal pennies it costs to make Blu-Rays, so unless you're literally Nintendo with your evergreen Mario titles, it doesn't really make economic sense to constantly crank out physical copies if there's no demand.
Even Nintendo isn't immune to this, with some of its smaller franchises like 3DS era Fire Emblem or Xenoblade copies quickly becoming scarce.

Splatoon Raiders, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and (potentially?) Persona 4 Revival. I'd like to play DKB and MP4, but I haven't played any of the prior entires, and I like to establish a good foundation for what a series is before I play new entries. Haven't played them. I think the VB accessory and the attempt to recreate the 3D effect is cute, but if I'm going to pay over $100 to play VB, I'd rather import a real one from Japan. Officially releasing unreleased games is pretty cool, however.

I bought Ys X Nordics, I never played the original version of it but I kinda get why people were pissed about this Atlus-tier enhanced re-release nonsense and why people were so wary about buying Metaphor ReFantazio because of it.
I've been ambivalent about Ys as a whole, I liked the original two games for what they were as far as early action RPG games were, and liked Origin and Felghana enough but I've bounced off a lot of the other games in the franchise.

But I'm still gonna give it a shot.

different anon but even the higher difficulty you get to choose on a first playthrough isn't too hard either, at least for someone like me who has played the three previous titles. Yeah it limits the number of pikmin to 60, but the dog can take care of monsters (at least the troublesome ones that could create consequent casualties within your pikmins) or drag the objects (fully upgraded dog has the strength of 100 pikmin). The hostile fauna doesn't respawn either.

It still does have some difficulty spikes at certain points, especially with the TD sections with the green light pikmin and the Olimar's campaign (mostly because it urges you to find 30 pieces in a small amount of time across all the levels, so true management is key there).
>>
>>733538481
the people complaining the hard difficulty is too easy really need to accept that they mastered the game and they are nose blind to it by now. difficulty has a cap, it's not some zero sum game where you can just raise it forever.

I don't disagree that being familiar with the game mechanics after three installments make things easier for the fourth title, although I think it's fair to point out that the dog does alleviate a good chunk of the difficulty itself even for someone who hasn't played a Pikmin game before but isn't shabby when it comes to videogames in general (just focus on the item collect - health regeneration - attack upgrades). Hence why I pointed out the Olimar's campaign felt actually challenging since I started from scratch and with no dog, in addition of the time restraint in collecting all the pieces.

also something I should have pointed out with the dog is that you can regroup all your pikmin on the dog's back and throw your pikmins like a mounted gatling gun as such, even bypassing water as the little fella can swim.
In previous games, pikmins followed the character like an army of lemmings and a large amount of pikmin could be sometimes a problem with the ones lagging behind getting caught in an attack or squashed by a large enemy.

>How does it compare to the GBC game?
Literally the same game with soulless Vaseline funko pop graphics
>>
>>733541065
saar look at screenshot i find on 4chan
you are fool to play nintendo saar
>>
>>733541065
Looks like NLA to me.
>>
How does the TWEWY remake on Switch compare to the original? I heard the controls were a bit awkward because the original was designed around the DS touchscreen.
>>
>>733541298
The new controls are just the mobile ports but with gyro pointers as your "touch" controls. Personally I thought they were dogshit, but I've heard it's more responsive with the joycon 2.

>>What are you currently enjoying on your Switch 2 /v/?
cleaning up z-a mega dimension post game
>>What are you looking forward to, or most excited for in 2026 so far?
pokopia, splatoon raiders, mario wonder bellabell park, rhythm heaven, fire emblem fortune's weave, scott pilgrim ex, digimon, indiana jones
>>Did you get anything from the eShop sales?
monster hunter generations, monster hunter stories 1+2, hyper light drifter special edition

>>733541136
it's a horrifically bad AI upscale
even if this was free I wouldn't want it
>>
>>733541065
You really need to up your game and do a comparison of before and after, no idea what is supposed to be bad from that one, maybe a few red circles and arrows could help.
>>
>>733541836
how do you not see the terrible ai smearing?
this is what it looks like on switch 1
>>
>>733542027
I don't know how the game originally looks, like I'm not baiting or talking crap about you but now it is useful to know the downgrades, that looks rough.
>>
>Sonyfag coming to shit up the thread with his anti xenoblade shitposts
We just can't have nice things.
I bought the upgrade just to spite you BTW.
>>
>>733511754
Was playing Xeno X and having fun. Went to ZA and it's alright but I might go to Xeno 1. I have to resist the urge to double dip on Guardians of Azuma and Fantasy Life.
>>
>>733542203
You can just "eject" the patch
People are saying they're giving refunds, but dunno if it's that or Nintendo's "You get a singular, single refund, no questions asked" policy

I have both looked at a lot of ai shit and a lot of xenoblade x, it's very noticable that something is either extremely wrong or disgracefully lazy with the switch 2 "upgrade"
everything is smeared and the game shimmers in motion because the upscale details are inconsistent every frame
>>733542391
kill yourself nigger
i care about this game more than you will ever care about anything in your life
nintendo doesn't deserve a pass for this insultingly bad dog shit
>>
>>733542443
Oh nice, I thought it you bought it then it is there forever, and lol I won't refund 5 bucks but I'm still considering getting it or not, I'm so tired of waiting for Xeno patches and we finally get one but with compromises.
>>
All Nintendo Switch 2 Editions are scams. I don't buy them.
>>
>>733542452
this is what the game SHOULD look like
and that's a docked screenshot, handheld is even worse to the point of being atrocious
>>
>>733542452
>>733542541
That comparison looks alright either way
The spaceship town does look rough on the other hand because it's littered with small details unlike with the natural landscapes
>>

>>733542970
The natural landscape DOES have small details, all the rock textures are handcrafted, and the AI smearing just turns it into a fucking mess
and then portable mode kicks it in the nuts even harder when X was by far the sharpest xenoblade game in handheld beforehand
now it looks worse than xenoblade 2 in handheld, which was terrible but only ever just got really low resolution
it didn't completely warp the textures into a smoothie
>>
>>733542526
If you're playing on Switch 2 you're an idiot if you don't get those. It's literally just a resolution bump and framerate boost in most cases.
>>
>What are you currently enjoying?
I'm still playing through Pokemon Z-A. I put it down for a bit.
>What are you looking forward to?
I'm curious as to how Splatoon Raiders is going to play out. I'm considering skipping Tomadachi Life, but as of now I have no idea what I'd be picking up in the upcoming months.
>eShop sales
Contemplating getting Sonic X Shadow on the nintendo store, given that the physical price is higher than I'd like. 20 bucks is doable. I'd get it on PC if not for Denuvo.
>Virtual Boy
I don't even have NSO. I mainly play singleplayer games.
>>
>>733544893
Nice
>>
>>733520347
wait they added survival kids to the virtual console? that game fucks. I installed the eng patch for the sequel on my everdrive and modretro. I'm mad no one told me about the aduril edition restock or I would have gotten one. Probably have to buy one from a scalper now second hand or something gay.
>>
>>733511754
you guys think Age of Empires 2 will get to the Switch 2 eventually?
>>
>>733544182
Good thing I still got my Switch 1.
>>
>What are you currently enjoying on your Switch 2 /v/?
Red Dead Redemption, was playing DK Bananza but I'm taking a break. Also going between Air Riders and Pokemon Arceus.
>What are you looking forward to, or most excited for in 2026 so far?
Nothing really.
>Did you get anything from the eShop sales?
I'm strictly physical.
>Are you enjoying NSO Virtual Boy games?
Lol
