Select for cats with higher luck. It doesn't just affect crit rate.
If you neglect luck, bad things happen. Cats with luck below 5 get a 10% chance to roll twice and select the lower of the two rolls in events. So even if your other stats are high, having less than 5 luck can fuck you over. The odds of rolling good events versus bad ones are also affected by the average luck stat of your whole party.
Luck is probably just as important as Constitution and Speed are.

There are classes that are not so RNG dependant. Butcher for example has base utility with diagonal basic attacks and the hook bringing the enemy to melee and Butcher high HP and attack makes it useful no matter how bad the lvl up RNG shits on you
