It's not about pirating, stealing, emulating, wanting something for free, or any of that stuff. It's about how it's such a vastly superior experience, and legally it cannot be sold, it has to be free, and so they're competing with a superior free experience. Why pay for something when you get a vastly superior experience for free? Don't condone Game Freak and the Pokemon Company's scummy behavior. They could have did so much for the anniversary of the most profitable franchise in the world. They did less than the bare minimum, there's super fans that are disappointed that there's no online trading and battles, so not even the bare minimum of expectations were met. This is how voting with your wallet works; if you buy these games you're telling them directly, to just phone it in, and to grab your cash, offering you the worst experience possible.
