but we actually talk about the games on our list, I wanna see what you guys like about your games
>>734242113(1/2)Xenoblade 2 is my favorite game, it’s damn near a perfect game to me, I love the art style, love the characters, zeke is probably one of my favorite vidya characters all time, love the story silly moments included, the ost is amazing https://youtu.be/0Xaw95i8F6k?si=I9XtMwwg0awBMM31https://youtu.be/zukZtQQ2hDU?si=GQ620uRlklWWTebrhttps://youtu.be/v8FckEqIo1Q?si=bYeNG9QS-SfNL6lyI love the combat, bursting orbs is so satisfying. The world is unique and interesting, and yes I even like the gacha, I like randomized things might come from me liking yugioh and card games in general. Also its one of those games that just keeps getting better and better the more you play it all the way up until the end I absolutely love the chao garden, that definitely the reason this game is so high for me I do still like most of the rest of the game though to me the sonic and shadow levels still have the best gameplay of 3d sonic games and I like tails and eggman stages too Kingdom hearts 2 is just how action games should feel to me, I find it the gold standard, movement feels good, combat feels good. I also really like the story and music and enemy design I think the heartless and nobodies look really cool I love the whole fire emblem series, I like to keep my 3x3 to one game per series but I could easily put conquest and sacred stones on here too , but engage is my overall favorite, I like anime dudes on a grid, the tactical gameplay, the support conversations. Call me crazy but I did actually enjoy the story. It has a really good sound track, I like a lot of the remixes older songs got. The change to make movement lower across the board was a really good decision too imo. Also good animations in a 3d fire emblem is nice
>>734242174(2/2)Kid Icarus uprising came outta no where its its so good the sky and ground combat is fun, collecting all the weapons is fun. I played the online a ton when that was a thing. I find the dialogue pretty entertaining. Maybe one day we will get a sequel or like I feel like you could make a starfox game with the exact gameplay style and it would fit perfectly Wonderful 101 one of the few good wii u games, really interesting gameplay, collecting people to form giant weapons. The combats fun and the story is really good has that Gurren lagan style of constant escalation I was a huge fan of pokemon, gen 5 is my most played, I love collecting stuff and rpgs, monster collectors appeal to me a lot, I really like the world tournament, this is a bit of a nostalgia pic as I definitely could put a few rom hacks above thisI LOVE BATTLE NETWORK, its such a unique gameplay style that’s really only been copied by a couple indies, like I said before I like cards and collecting stuff so collecting chips and building your folder is really fun to me. If I had to pick just one game though it would be bn5 colonel. I really like the artstyle and character design of battlenetwork Similar to what I said about kh2 towards action games blazblue is the gold standard for me in fighting games every character is super unique the game feels good like just running back and forth jumping and air dashing feels good, music is amazing and I feel like all its systems just work well together, I like bursts and ods, barriers ect.
Bro I don't want to hear the opinions of a retard that likes xenoblade
>>734242268so share your opinion

>>734242113>Crystalis Incredible cross between top-down Zelda clone and Ys, it was my very first favorite video game. My parents kept it and added it to a box of "my stuff", like with my baby clothes and shit, that's how much I liked it when I was barely even able to read. >Illusion of GaiaThis was my 2nd favorite game. I didn't even know it was related to Soul Blazer, but I liked both. I loved being to change between different characters and I loved traveling around the world, and it's nice to see how the friends grow and change over the game.>Chrono TriggerThe 3rd time I had a favorite video game growing up. I don't need to say more. It's Chrono Trigger. >Star Ocean 2I remember spending I think 2 different Summer Vacations starting this game and beating it. Loved it. >PSOI saved up my own allowance and birthday money to buy a Dreamcast, since my parents wouldn't buy it for me. The concept of playing with other people over the internet was insane to me at the time. Loved it and have played Ephinea occasionally over the years as well. Also played with the bros in couch co-op on the Gamecube.>MeleeThis might be the game that I have played the most in my life. Haven't played in several years because everyone got married, but used to play this with the bros all night and into the morning.>AutomataI genuinely think this is the best game of the past decade. I thought it was a meme game with 2B's ass, but when I eventually played it I was very impressed. >Black Souls 2The shilling (when it first came out) got me. It's what made me realize that RPGmaker games and also h-games can be genuinely good. The only game I've ever made a guide for, and lots of people have used it.>Siralim UltimateI pirated Sirlaim 3, lost hundreds of hours to it, and then Ultimate was having a kickstarter so I backed it. Great game, and I have some things in it. I don't use them though, sadly. Infinitely autistic Pokemon/SMT, basically.
>>734242334NTA, but you're asking people to effortpost.
I can only put 7 games
>>734242113What website
i've played so many games to the point where i don't even know which ones i liked anymore

>>734242654yeah I know, its easy to be a negative nancy and just call things shit but I don't care >>734242612>Siralim UltimateI wish I actually liked the monster designs >Black Souls 2what makes it an actually good h game? i find most of them seem sub bar and the rpg maker ones kind lack cohesive theming >>734242896thats fine
>>734242925https://topsters.org/>>734242946if you legit cant remember what you like maybe start journaling
>>734242963Why not just make a normal 3x3 thread? Why do you have to put some kind of "spin" on it?
>>734242113>Parasite Eve 3Over hated for no real reason. Claims of character assassination greatly exaggerated, gameplay wise this is solid and plays like Dirge of Cerby.>Dino Crisis 3No one played this game because it was an Xbox Exclusive. This is the God Hand of survival horror, only hated because Regina does not exist 500+ years in the future. >Bloodlines 2I'm happy this game flopped. World of Darkness is now shape from a shitty hollywood TV adaptation like fallout. >G-SaviourAbsolute Kino Late Universal Century era lore.>X-Files Resist or Serve.Solid Resident evil clone that went above and beyond.>Martian GothicThe Swan song of classic PS1 RE style Survival Horror and the culmination of the entire genre. >Bullet WitchI just like this game. It has custom soundtrack and a cool Waifu.>Dirge of CerbyThis game is fucking hard!
>>734243125>Metroid Other MTeam ninja has never made a bad game.
>>734242268bazed
>>734242174Im sorry anon, since i 99,9% completed Xenoblade 2 i can say anyone who likes it is a complete moron. Ive never seen a series that regressed so bad from game to game. Its a complete waste of time and has a worse anime story than naruto shippuden.>>734242268This. Thread is already ruined.
>>734243019feel free to just post your 3x3 if you want >>734243125>>G-Saviourwhats that play like, also its rare to see someone else that likes other m>>734243216I got X because the robots but thats the worst part of the game imo, the exploration was actually really fun being able to zoom through the map trivialized things and ground combat was more fun than skell combat. also why the heck are there 3 hero characters in that xb3 gameplay is that a dlc thing?
>>734242113based as fuck taste ngl
>>734242963>what makes it an actually good h game? i find most of them seem sub bar and the rpg maker ones kind lack cohesive themingBlack Souls 1 and 2 are basically an homage to Dark Souls, telling the story mostly in the same sort of esoteric way that Dark Souls does, using the lore of Alice in Wonderland which, in a sort of acid trip or dreamlike way, also blends the real life Liddell family into the lore (the author of Alice in Wonderland originally told the stories to the Liddell girls before writing it down and turning it into a story). It's also sort of horror-adjacent. I think any fan of Dark Souls will find something to appreciate in Black Souls, as long as they aren't repulsed by the idea of a JRPG maker with weird, "bad" art, though the art does really grow on you and helps sell the whole vibe that the games give.
>>734243303>since i 99,9% completed Xenoblade 2 iyou clearly liked it dude unless you just consider completing the story 99.9%Ing it . theres way too much shit in that game for you to play it for that long without having some enjoyment. you dont have to try and look cool for the internet
>>734242963>negativeNTAIt's more or less effortposting only to have it possibly ignored because nobody wants to read all that shit.
>>734243713be the change you wanna see in the world ive already replied to multiple posts itt, and you dont gotta write about everything you can pick just 1 or 2 games>>734243524I see, im not a fan of dark souls in fact i kinda have a hate boner for it since so many games wanna be souls likes now, but I can see the appeal in that kinda story telling though. but it still probably isnt for me
Going to post my 4x4 as punishment for making me effortpost.>noitaVery good esoteric knowledge feel. I like finding the glyphs in the world and the weird mysteries. Wandbuilding gives me a plan for the entire run to run through my head and shooting enemies is satisfying.>rain worldIt's like going on a walk in nature, but it's a video game. Fun and interesting creatures and plants. I like being a slugcat exploring the world.>nuclear throneInstant fun game. Very fast pace, not much commitment to my runs. Can play this whenever I want even if I have to go somewhere in 5 minutes. Enemies feel very random in their behaviour which adds a specific form of chaos not many games have.>universe sandboxI like seeing orbital pertubances and interesting n-body simulations in real time while interacting with it.
>>734244079NTA, but goddamn this is worse than people rating each other and calling each other faggots
>>734244079>I see, im not a fan of dark souls in fact i kinda have a hate boner for it since so many games wanna be souls likes nowYeah, I feel that. I loved Demon's Souls and Dark Souls and Bloodborne, I was the kind of person who said "Dark Souls ruined other games for me", but by the time Dark Souls 3 came around, I was over it. I did SL1 playthroughs of Dark Souls, and I think it just burnt me out. Didn't like Dark Souls 3 that much, didn't care for Sekiro even enough to finish it, pirated Elden Ring and barely even played like an hour of it before I realized I just don't like Souls games anymore. Black Souls 2 is a fantastic game though, as long as the player is not repulsed by the idea of an RPGmaker porn gave with weird art.
>>734244118>Zero-KMy favourite RTS. Its unit expression stands out compared to a lot of other RTS games I played. The vast differences in the unit stats and how they behave allows for many kinds of playstyles and how I choose to use my army.>mindustryI like making spaghetti.>bloonsPopping bloons is satisfying.>kerbal space programFeels great to build a rocket, perform a bunch of maneuvers and land on a planet or set up a satellite.
>Bus simulator 21its ETS2, except you can run around the world on foot, drive a bus, AND mug your passengers for money>mario allstars + Worldworld is the greatest 2D platformer ever made, and when I get tired of replaying it for the millionth time I can play the other mario games. Whats not to love?>sky destroyerbefore there was ace combat, there was Sky destroyer. Really good sprite work for 1985, and its SO satisfying to shoot down enemy planes or blow up subs. I'm also a sucker for score attack games>System shock(s)I cant decide which is better. Both are god tier "dungeon" explorers and I like whacking things with my trusty pipe. There's lots of stuff to interact with and I get some autistic joy reducing security levels on each floor>Wolf 3DIt shouldnt be as good as it is but the voicework for all the nazis and the thump of the mp40 is just so GOOD. The level design is very hit or miss, the mutants can go fuck themselves, and hunting for secret walls objectively sucks ass. So why do I have so many hours in it?>Demon's soulsits the best souls game, simple as. Have as much grass as you want. explore and study your surroundings or die. Bosses actually have thought in them rather then spin2win and memorize their patterns after a billion deaths>Crash 2I really, really like platformers, and 2 has great secrets. Much improvement over the original and nowhere near as bad as warped>Runescapespecifically Pre EOC. Maybe its sunk cost, maybe its cope, but I put my childhood and adolescence into this game and have many fond memories. fuck jagex and fuck the GE>retro rewindI really, really loved mario kart wii, and this lets me use an actual steering wheel, and has all the tracks in the series. GOATed
>>734242113You can't put the Battle Network legacy collection as one game you fucking mongoloid.
>>734242113I really wish they'd release a Chao Garden game. >>734243125This is almost like a collage of the games that everyone hated. Impressive. I'm not knocking it, just noticing. I haven't played any of these so I can't judge. I do want to play Dirge of Cerberus though, but I'm shit at aiming with a controller.
>>734244236>, as long as the player is not repulsed by the idea of an RPGmaker porn gave with weird art.how does this game handle the porn like where do you get it by defeating enemies or what?>>734244427>run around the world on foot, drive a bus, AND mug your passengers for moneyi didnt realize those sim games had so much going on
>>734242113SA2 sucks. I've legitimately tried to love it because EVERYBODY has to fellate how its the peak of 3D sonic and even after like 20 attempts to get into it, I still hate itW101 was fun>>734242612I miss casual melee with my old cul de sac buddies. Nobody knew about teching or wavedashing or anything, we just picked our favorite characters and did 4p free for all. glorious>>734244118I hate nuclear throne and I hate that I keep going back to play it even though I know its rigged
>>734244494its a single game you can buy but I literally even said bn5 colonel if I hade to pick one >>734244552>I really wish they'd release a Chao Garden game.same, or just put it into another game already PLEASE SEGA
>>734244674You traditionally only pick one game to put on your grid if it comes from a collection.
>>734244394>ss13Most of the time I played in the engineering and atmospherics department. Building supermatter engines, discovering new atmospherics tech no one discovered before from emergent phenomena is pretty cool. Also fun chaos in a round with whatever bullshit people come up with.>cogmindI can play this game at any pace I feel like. Fun random shit I find too, not really sure what's going on.>starsectorCool ship battles. Exploring in space is fun. Manipulating the market is fun.>bullet heavenVery soulful. Fun bullet patterns and playing through a cursor is pretty smooth compared to my loud keyboard.
>>734243416>G-SaviourIt's kind of third person rail shooter. Being an early PS2 title, the gameplay is fairly primitively but it's the lore of late-late universal century that transforms the game into kino. It's too good to spoil, but it probably has the coolest Char clone in all of gundam. People don't give it a chance because thE G-Saviour Film sucked balls, but the game as a sequel to the film is everything the film should have been and a grand finale of the Universal Century timeline it deserved. Plus it's got a cute sci-fi slow jam anime happy ending song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1dcrxL93c0&list=RDK1dcrxL93c0&start_radio=1
>>734244591>how does this game handle the porn like where do you get it by defeating enemies or what? There are named characters who have portraits, usually significant bosses or notable NPCs or girls you can make a "covenant" with and gains certain buffs (like Dark Souls), and you can have sex with them. It's usually pretty clear, and "Rape" is a pretty standard dialogue option. It's not like some h-games where you must lose a fight to random mobs in order to see sex scenes. There are only like 2 or 3 bosses across the games I think where you must lose in order to get a sex scene (or alternate scenes), but they're the dommy mommy type anyway so it makes sense.
>>734244807>amorphous+Splatting glooples is fun. Positioning is engaging.>dwarf fortressI like managing a fort of retards. Lots of unpredictable stuff to make me solve them.>powder toyMaking bombs, engines, computers and truly bizarre contraptions is fun.>baba is youThe way to solve puzzles is fun. Lots of puzzles that look impossible until I solve them.
>>734245046>It's not like some h-games where you must lose a fight to random mobs in order to see sex scenesthats good, it always seemed like a dumb design decision to me when porn games make you have to lose to see anything>>734244954>It's kind of third person rail shooter.ive been into those recently though I need to watch uc gundam though, ive just kinda bounced around watching different alternate universe series
>Dark Souls IIII love the world design (don't care if it's "too linear"), I love the enemies, I love the bosses, I love the lore, I love the armor and weapons. >Battle Network 3 WhiteI love bug style and yellow girl Navi and Battle Network is my favorite game franchise overall >MedievilJust simply one of the greatest and most underrated games ever created, that hack Miyazaki ripped his whole shtick from this game.>Virtual OnThe only good mech game in existence. Cool as fuck designs, cool soundtrack, fun combat.>BlasphemousSpanish catholicism looks cool>Megaman ZeroA game I could never beat as a kid that felt reaaaaally good to beat as an adult. I've been infatuated with sprite design my whole life because of this game.>Otomedius ExcellentPicked it up in a bargain bin for my 360 back in the day, spent a week with food poisoning playing it non-stop. First game I ever 100%.>OkamiThe only good Zelda game.>Skate 3Spent a summer playing this with my little brother, right before life fell apart for us both. Really good memories with this game, the soundtrack is 10/10
>>734245298>Megaman Zeroyou like it more than its sequels?
>>734245356Yes but only because I never played the sequels back then, thus it was my holy grail of games I wanted to beat
>>734245298>Virtual OnHell fucking yeah. I loved this in the arcade or mountasia or chucky cheese or wherever this was. They usually didn't have it, but when they did have it I lost most of the money I was given to it. I loved being able to control with the twinstick things. How is it outside of the arcade? What do you emulate it on?
>>734245434That's how I was introduced to it, the arcade cabinet was in movie theaters here lol. I haven't emulated it, last I played it was on a buddies Saturn. Kinda tempted to see if I can emulate it now!
There's a certain way people have been posting in these threads that just seems completely fake.
>>734245642post your 3x3, coward
>>734245642The fact that this thread requires effort posting seems to have mostly deterred the zoomer third worlder ESL shitposters that plague modern 4chan.

>>734242334What's the point of sharing your opinion with a guy who just waddled into 4chan with a full diaper and dumped a text wall on one of the most egregiously bad games ever made. What quality discussion could possibly bloom from this thread? You've already flagged that no one in here is worth interacting with.
>>734245642i always assumed the images and text posted in these threads is just copied from old archived threads

>>734246148it cant be saved from 4chan, I just edited it like 10 minutes ago

>>734246350that percentage implies he did almost everything there is to do in the game, you arent getting every blade, doing every side quest, filling out every affinity chart, finding every secret area if you did not enjoy the game on some level heck even for you I really dont think you finish a game if you had no enjoyment, while you wont know a game in full you can easily tell if you like a game or not after a few hours

>>734246148>It's becoming hard to believe these threads aren't mostly a sham meant to bait the few poor remaining souls into posting.I agree, but definitely not for the reason you're saying it. Like I said, the effort posting required of this thread seems to have mostly deterred the zoomer third worlder ESL shitposters and the "few poor remaining souls" are already posting here. You don't seem to be one of them.
>>734242113>talk about the games on our listYeah, but are we going to talk to EACH OTHER about the games on our lists? I could spend several posts talking about my favorite games, but unless there is some conversation there, it just extends the thread for a handful of posts. Also, nice choice with W101. One issue I have with the remake is that you can't look at the gamepad and see what you're drawing. It may sound silly, but it's not necessarily easy to draw some shapes blindly when they're off-screen, and I wonder if some people who started with the remaster ran into that exact problem.
>>734246621
>>734246791>but it's not necessarily easy to draw some shapes blindly when they're off-screen,I never had that issue but maybe since I draw with a tablet im used to drawing with out looking at what im drawing

>>734246791Please post it, I’m curious now
>>734247563oh i just clicked an image for mario 64, I have never played the pc port or psp port (?!). and for ffx you for sure want to emulate the ps2 international version (so either the PAL version or japanese international which has an english language option. the US release is missing content and we never got the expanded edition) you dont want to play HD demake because it ruins the visuals in a massive way

>>734247751how did they just completely mess up the lighting ? i get that hd ports are just cash grabs but why even waste time changing anything at that pointt
>>734247982they literally lost the assets from the original game so they couldnt reuse them and then did the typical outsourced production to a team of underpaid jeets for the demake. if youve played the original in your childhood and then play the demake its especially jarring
>>734247982Anon, the models are the truly fucked up part. Look at how bad the HD Remaster looks compared to the original PS2 models. They apparently lost the original game and had to rebuild it, so the models are outsourced jeettrash. But ruining lighting is a Remake/Remaster special. There's even memes for it.
Either killer7 or Stalker SoC are my favorite game but I don’t feel like getting into why right now.
I first encountered Nethack on amber UNIX terminals in the high school lab. Number pad wasn't an option, so I learned how to play using the vi movement. I never have ascended and I never will. I should try using Valkryie to change that.Robotron stands because it is directly brutal and honest. All information is conveyed at once, and there is pure chaos from the start. Also, enough of the content is randomized that mastery through memorization is not an option. There's also no powerups or one-true-path bullshit to worry about. There's really no way to alter this game without making it worse.Xi Jumbo requires a stream of thought that makes it easy to not blink for ten minutes at a time once you sit down and focus. It's something that will make your brain hum. Xi Go's default mode isn't as good and is slower than this.Espgaulda gives the player agency through the awakening toggle and has the style and environment to back it all up. The pacing of the first three stages is sublime.IIDX is the perfect combination of a video game and a musical instrument. It's the only game that I dutifully play every day, and I have done so since PS2 3rd Style. That was 26 years ago.Tactics has calculators, which turns the entire game into a massive math problem, and that's cool. The style and presentation helps.Thumper is the game that midwits who want to have the "games are art" debate should be citing first and foremost, because no movie or picture elicits the emotion one gets from playing it. The direct connection between the player's action and the game's response is pure.I prefer Daifukatsu to Daiojou for the former's ever-evolving arrange mode.Otostaz has lovely presentation to support its mechanics and is lovely to play. It is also my weakest link here, but I don't know what I could put it in its stead.I've formerly had G Darius and Sakura Wars 2 here. I contemplate putting in PS4 Densha De Go. 20 years ago I would have had a fighter like KOF98 or Last Blade 2.

>>734248219No.
>>734248174>EspgauldaI always get disappointed when I see a game with really cool art but then its just a smhup, I should really try one of them one of these days
>>734247316>>734247708I don't really have a top 9. Or, to be more accurate, I'd want to sit down and replay those games, or something similar, before I put them on the chart. I'd want to play more SaGa games to compare them to Legend of Legacy, and would want to replay Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis before calling it a top favorite game. I'm playing thru Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together and am not liking it as much. Gradius definitely deserves to be on the list as well, but I'm not sure which to include. As for what's on the list:>Danmaku Unlimited 2One of my top shmups, I definitely love the soundtrack and the design. The very clear bullet visuals on the black background make them very easy to identify and avoid, even at very high speeds. It's always a joy to sit down and play, if for a short bit or when trying for a harder clear.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pFQjHkN79Mhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uUcPRMB_u4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reCYphOJl8c>LYNEThis is a fairly simple puzzle game that has kept me busy for close to a decade. Not with constant playing, but the game has a base 26 x 25 = 650 and a rotating set of around 300 x 25 = 7500 puzzles with a few accessable every day. It makes it a great game to pick up and play a bit in the morning, sort of my own crossword puzzle, to get my brain working.>Magical Drop VII've loved Magical Drop for years. I just click with the series better than I do something like Tetris. Being able to grab orbs, stack them together, and quickly move able to chain combos feels really great. MD6 definitely did a great job, going back to having all the good content of MD2 and MD3 after (the kind of fun but disappointing) MD5.
>>734248219To further elaborate, I've never played W101. And we have a WiiU in the house too. Shit, honestly, I don't think I've actually touched the system, just my wife to play Xeno X. Heh.>>734248603Hm, it's kind of the same reaction I have with JRPGs in a way, at this point in my life. We're playing Octopath now and I personally find the graphical style charming enough, but my god do I chafe at the game's writing and pacing. We only just started and common battles feel like they take 10x longer than they should. I'll probably never play another DQ game again but at least those battles are quick.
>>734248610>cont.>Phantasy Star OnlineI think some other people can understand why this game is on my list. I played it on Dreamcast, I played it on Gamecube, I put hundreds of hours into the game. I played most of the sequels as they came out, putting dozens or hundreds of hours into each one, and put over 1000 hours into PSO2. I haven't set up to play Ephinea mainly to ensure I don't kill all my free time.>Wizardry 7: Crusaders of the Dark SavantGreat game, I'm a fan of dungeon crawlers when they give you a big area to wander around and explore. I do like taking the time to grind up and make overpowered characters, and this game just gives all the good things I like. The text-prompt based off keywords isn't my favorite, but I could easily see it as worse. This is honestly the one Wizardry I would recommend to people, if it wasn't in the middle of a trilogy and thought that most people would prefer to play Wiz5 first instead.>Wonderful 101My top Platinum game, being able to rapidly switch between weapons to take advantage of enemy weaknesses and use them at any opportunity, while also being distinctly vulnerable if you start using the wrong attacks and stun your group, is really a great way of dealing with the fast challenging combat. I wasn't a big fan of Bayonetta like everybody else, and definitely liked Devil May Cry and how different weapons were used to counter different enemies, so this felt like that but all the weapons were available at any time.
>>734248174>Thumper How the fuck do you even play this? I can't tell what's happening. Is it just a rhythm game? >Daifukatsuhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeyVsRCfGHgWhy have I heard this song before? I've never played this game, but I know this song somehow. Is it a popular song?
>>734248782>We only just started and common battles feel like they take 10x longer than they should. I'll probably never play another DQ game again but at least those battles are quick.I feel like dq battles at least 8 and 9 thats what ive played take longer than octopath from what I remember
>>734248174>>734248782>WiiU>I don't think I've actually touched the system, just my wife to play Xeno X.Understandable. There were only a few good games on the system. I don't blame anyone for skipping it.>Zenless Zone ZeroHonestly question, why? I found the daily requirements very bothersome on any gacha I've played. What makes ZZZ so different from other gacha?>ThumperThat's been on my wishlist for a long time. It seems, mechanically, like a rhythm game, but it looks like it has a lot of a different feel to it. Like, there's something different from tapping a button when it lines up with an icon, and slamming into a guardrail while turning so you don't fly off a track.
>>734248219>Are you >>734246791 (You)This >>734248610 >>734248850 is mine, to be clear.
>>734248850>I haven't set up to play Ephinea mainly to ensure I don't kill all my free time.If you liked PSO, you really owe it to yourself to play Ephinea at some point. Especially if you never played online before. If you have played online before, Ephinea fixes pretty much every problem, like the fact that on the official games you only get exp if you dealt damage to an enemy. They also have new quests and rotating bonuses and events.
>>734248782>We only just started and common battles feel like they take 10x longer than they shouldThat's just how the brave/default system feels. The thing where you store points to unload them all at the same time, it started with Bravely Default, and that team just keeps reusing the same system over and over again. I don't like it at all. I think it works for boss battles pretty well, but RPGs are like 90% random battles, and it makes those needlessly time consuming and tedious.
>>734249329>and it makes those needlessly time consuming and tedious.it literally does the exact opposite you can just spam 4 turns worth of attacks and kill weak mobs 1 turn
>W101I could argue this game is both greater than and less than the sum of its parts. It's Kamiya's entire career condensed into 15-20 hours for better or worse. I love the combat mechanics but there's so much the game never tells you about them, I love the ways you interact with enemies but there's some clear missteps like everything with spiked armor, I love Wonder Red as a protagonist but can find that the game puts portraying its plot over pacing at times, I love the way it incorporates setpieces and scale into gameplay but it can feel like you're being jerked around to different gameplay styles of varying polish. Years ago I called this my all-time #1 but it might leave my Top 10 at some point. Still, it's sentimentally one of my favorites.>Rez InfiniteI love all of Tetsuya Mizuguchi's work but I also just love rail shooters and target painting mechanics. Everything just synthesizes perfectly for me to love this game. The only game I'll actively turn out the lights and put on headphones for every time.>SoR4I've considered swapping SoR2 or Shadows Over Mystara in this spot recently and I still might, but I've given this game more time than any beat-em-up. It makes a few design missteps here and there but the amount it gets right combined with the huge amount of content to play with is unparalleled.>TFDBest Platinum game by far, most fun action game I've ever played; the Overdrive mechanic is genius. 200+ hours in Challenge Mode. The clear oversights in the TECH and scoring systems don't hold it back that much. Very good enemy roster, best boss roster in the genre, incredible OST, great VA work, and the final boss is a top-tier Optimus/Megatron moment if you like the IP.>UMvC3My GOAT, most hours I have in anything (and that's before following the competitive scene). Aesthetically perfect, shockingly more balanced than it seems, bursting with love for every IP involved. If the only game I had was this with no internet connection I'd still be happy.(1/2)
>>734249487>ZoE2I need to replay it, but something about how it designs its combat around 360 degree space so elegantly just hooked me instantly, and it only got better once I got the ranged grab weapon. Helps that almost every boss is excellent, the music is great, there's plenty of side content and replay value, and that fight for Mars with the radar of the battlefield is incredible. There's a few small segments that are annoying but not enough to drag it down.>PXZ2Pure comfort game that I acknowledge isn't amazing, but I do enjoy the mechanics. There's just enough going on with the TRPG that I'm not bored on the map, and there's enough under the hood of the combo system to keep me trying to maximize damage; neither can be said for PXZ1 or Namco X Capcom. The fanservice is just a bonus but it really hits for all the stuff I'm familiar with. I've played through it four times and done all the side content at least twice.>Kunitsu-GamiCame out of nowhere and blew me away. One of the best games Capcom ever made and on its own convinced me that I love Action/TD hybrids. Perfectly balances both sides of its gameplay without sacrificing its pacing or presentation.>Forgotten LandI've always liked Kirby but FL just stands out for transplanting everything about the series into a new format and nailing it. Every level is distinct and memorable, the controls are excellent, the boss lineup is shockingly good by 3D action standards, OST is unbelievable. It's the best game in the series IMO and #2 is a spinoff (Dream Course).
