Finished listening through and this is good. Your choice of instrumentals to use shows a lot of good taste, I was surprised to immediately hear RJD2 and Aesop Rock beats I was familiar with but it also breaks from what was expected, which is hearing hip-hop-ified versions of the game's music. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing depends on the listener, I like RJD2 and Aesop but even then I kind of wanted to hear interpretations of Cave Story's OST.Lyrically I think a lot of it still comes off as kind of a dry interpretation of the events of the game without something like the immature punchups that Duane & Brando have in their take on doing this but I wouldn't have any idea how to write over an hour's worth of lyrics covering every single level of a game without running into the same problem, D&B only ever had to pick out highlights across an entire game and condense them down into single songs.Great job anon, if you continue to want to make stuff like this I look forward to whatever else might come down the line.

Although once you finish your first run you unlock Zangyou mode, which is effectively the game's hard mode where all the levels have remixed layouts and enemy placements to make them much harder. It might be worth pushing through the first run to see that mode and see if that clicks more with you, given the overall length of the thing.
