Races are only as good as your shops, and if you've got a bunch of useful shit in it that you can't pass on, then a race is more valuable then a good training, but conversely, if you're not highrolling your ass off with only the best stuff, you can get everything good in your shops and still afford to skip some races to get good trainings. A G3/G2, even with a rival, is only worth 41 stats, valuing a hint as +10 stats which is likely less because you're gonna end up with a billion mile/medium skills your Uma doesn't want because they're running a different distance, and 37SP, and one without a rival is way worse at 27 stats, much less an OP where you can't get a rival and it's only 17 stats and 30SP. Ending the run with 200 dosh because you kept running races when you didn't need to and had nothing to spend them on is bad and you threw away potential stats.

With your method you can certainly get decent stats, but that's just MANT scenario as a whole, you won't have good skill hints or enough points to get everything you want at the end.
