Reviewers are obviously biased fags but to be fair Crimson Desert WAS pretty fucking janky at launch and was apparently worse before the day one patch. The Greymanes camp (that you have to constantly visit for everything) did NOT have a fast travel point in the review copies. It only had the shitty one across the hill that most people don't even unlock until 50 hours in. Plus, no storage chest was a massive kick in the balls. Literally no way to even keep all the loot the game gives you constantly. Also, remember how sluggish Kliff was in the first few days before the early patch that un-Rockstar'd his movement?

That's if you completely ignore the baffling disjointed story and actually enjoy exploring stuff. I'm hoping (coping) that PA keeps patching it and shoring up the weaknesses to make it better in the long run. Gameplay wise there's a real issue later in the game where you start running out of shit to fight. I finally put enough points into my character to make him a badass and now there's no enemies because nothing respawns and most shit dies too fast to really have a good battle. And yeah, the game needs more graphical settings like a LOD slider so I can use more of my spare VRAM to stop distant objects from looking like play doh. I'm not holding out much hope for ghosting to ever get fixed or for interiors to not flicker like crazy without RR turned on.

article is a mess. i expected it to define what an unfinished game is. instead it went to compare the game to cyberpunk. these journalists are a joke. crimson desert may had and still has issues but it was always a complete game on release. there wasn't additional content hidden, there were no massive performance issues. it just the developers vision was dumb. so they quickly patched a few fixes in a couple of weeks and now the game is great. this is nowhere near the disater that was cyberpunk. some people are just jealous there are games that succeed like crimson desert even though they don't like it themselves. that's the only explanation.

The game actually has really fun combat, a lot of great bosses, a huge world that’s fun to explore and has a lot of varied puzzles that are usually more complex than your standard Skyrim claw hand tier baby shit but obviously aren’t going to be some Myst tier shit either, really fun movement abilities, and a lot of fun ways to combine skills and abilities à la an aRPG like PoE or Diablo. By the later stages of the game there’s also a ton of interconnected mechanics that are quite fun and addictive ie expanding your base and sending companions you find and recruit on missions to gather rare resources once you have enough to spend, allowing you to start new projects which in turn unlock new mechanics or rare gear and so on
