>>736583140Good for them, they should be thankful to have avoided this absolute garbage.
>>736583225There appears to be a mistake! The picture in the OP is The Last of Us Part II, which was absolute kino. The absolute garbage you're referring was likely one of the many gacha and weebslop threads active on this board. To avoid future embarrassing posts like this one, please ensure that you're in one of the aforementioned threads and not the thread of a masterpiece like The Last of Us Part II. Thank you, have a nice day!
>>736583140When TLOU2 came out, I thought it would be funny to feverishly defend it in every thread but sadly I'm not autistic enough to commit to doing that.
>>736583140>only finish good games>don't finish tlou2I guess I was filtered.
>>736584004You contradicted yourself
This is the game that convinced me to stop buying Sony games. To this day, I have yet to purchase a first-party Sony product for PS5. I will still buy any old gem I've missed but there's a cutoff point from 2019 and today where I won't buy Horizon, Returnal, God of War, or any other thing because this game ruined the "Sony vibe" for me.
>>736583140The first game was already pretentious slop.
>>736584427There was a Sony vibe?

The first game was dogshit and the second one was so bad I was done with it after "that scene." Neil really fucking ruined the studio and he better hope he never crosses paths with me again.
>>736587167Why did you play it
>>736583140I don't know why people love this game so much. It's just a basic "revenge is bad" story.

Apparently Leftists think TLOU2 is Zionist propaganda
>>736587308>Leftists>reacting to Zionists"maybe if I used a bunch of buzzwords I heard on 4chan that I don't understand people will like this shitty game"
>>736587308It's literally an Israeli referencing the Israel-Palestine conflict. Lefties are virulent anti-Semites, so that's a bridge too far and they'll go back to replaying Depression Quest.
>>736587292The first game was shit and I didn't play the second game, also I'm not OP
It's a shame they cancelled the multiplayer because it really does have the most visceral feeling TPS gameplay I've ever experienced. But I can't really force myself to slog through the story bits again just to replay it and picking the combat scenarios out of a menu feels kind of lame. If I want something close to how it feels I'll just replay RE4R or RE9 again.
>>736587308no i don't

>enter Spec Ops thread>tons of back and forth on whether the WP scene or the Konrad twist made sense or were effective storytelling>enter Bioshock thread>tons of back and forth on whether Ryan did anything wrong, whether 2 is better or worse, if Fontaine is a good villain or not>enter SOMA thread>coin flip coin flip coin flip coin flip>enter TLOU2 thread>nothing but bait and hornyposting for EllieYou can shit on a lot of supposed 'narrative masterpieces' in vidya but there's a certain standard of quality where even if you think the writing is weak there's still a lot to discuss and break down as to why it's not as good as people typically believe. TLOU2 doesn't reach this standard of quality. There's really nothing to argue because every single interesting idea in the game is executed so horribly that there's it's just about impossible to make a compelling defence for it. It's not just 'not a masterpiece', it's shit, and I think everyone knows it's shit whether they liked the game or not.
I was totally on Abby's side throughout the game. Joel lost likability when he condemned mankind to death
>>736583530>R-revenge is le bad!>KinoPick one, retard.
>>736583140I actually like the gameplay quite a bit (was playing on Survivor) but by day 2 Seattle or whatever I was starting to get burnt out by the writing and dropped it to play something else and never returned. The writing lacks balance it's just too focused on one end of the spectrum (misery shit). I might revisit it someday just for the gameplay and to try out the roguelike mode or whatever it was they added though.
>>736583140Nah they were gassed, some turned into soap and the rest shot.
>>736587823All I see in Spec ops the line threads are "le war is bad" jokes or calling the game reddit. Which is sad cause I think the game is decent
Would you sacrifice your soul to the false prophet Dajjal in order to gain a cuddly Ellie gf?
>>736587864>condemned mankind to death>several large communities are growing and thriving in 2 to the extent that two factions can engage in sustained warfare against each other for years>and travel across the continent is quite feasible for experienced survivors>Ellie doesn't even try to have kids, Abby doesn't try to learn medicine, literally everyone just gave up on "saving the world" because a single dude diedNot even Neil actually thinks that what Joel did was wrong.
>>736583140idc care about the drama around the story, how does the gameplay compare to the first game?tlou 1 was pretty fun but I never got around to playing this.
>>736588000>digits*gulp*
>>736588107it's basically a straight upgrade in every way
>>736588107It's better
>>736588107It's better, the encounters are more engaging and the kills are more brutal and the weapons feel better to use.
>>736588107It's slightly worse, AI is fucked in a lot of situations and the melee mechanics are easily exploitable.
>>736588107It is better not because it's amazing but because the combat in the first game is so mediocre
>>736583530KYS jewish child molesting troonnot playing the bust of crust
>>736588689Ryback doesn't approve of you saying that
TLOU2 has great fucking gameplay but enemies are way too fucking passive even on grounded, there are many times where they will just hunker in place when they're alerted and then go back to search mode and let you pick them off one by one. they REALLY need to pursue disturbances more aggressively to force you to act, they're already pretty good about flanking you in combat situations, but if there's grass and you're crawling then they basically turn retarded and blind. still a great game though, also has my favorite trope in stealth games where the last enemy is wondering where the fuck everyone went.https://streamable.com/33rwj4
>>736588721I knew everything about the wokeslop story, but yes, in terms of the gameplay, I went in completely blind and played on grounded on my first playthrough, and got absolutely demolished. However its extremely satisfying gameplay. Resources are the scarcest I've ever seen in any of this kind of game. You really only get "rich" with ammo and supplies once you hit NG+. The first run was brutal.
>that one faggot who still refuses to admit the game was ass 10 years later Give it up dude
>>736588951I think I'm gonna do a chapter permadeath run sometime just to stop myself from savescumming so much, I had an excess amount of ammo by the last encounter and didn't even need all of it. Just kind of what happens when you play this game four times. TLOU2 is pretty much the only reason that other game Naughty Dog is doing is even on my radar.https://streamable.com/h9cav1
>>736589265Yes it seems naughty dog are still very good on the gameplay front. Sad that its Neil at the helm.
>>736583530calm down, epstein.
>>736587823I think there's a really strong idea in the DNA of Last of Us 2. Brutally killing a popular established character with the intent of making you play as their murderer and trying to slowly make you sympathize with the perspective of someone you once hated. It just falls completely flat if you still don't like Abby by the end, which I didn't, because there's like fifteen hours of playtime dedicated solely to desperately trying to endear her to you while demonizing Ellie. So instead of appreciating both sides of the conflict, I was just miserable about all of them.
>>736590025>So instead of appreciating both sides of the conflict, I was just miserable about all of them.this is also kino thougheverbeit
>>736590502Nah, there's a key difference between "every side has its own flaws and merits" and "every side is annoyingly retarded".
