This whole thing really bothers me because $40 is a fucking absurd price for a DS game from over 15 years ago, but having actually played the Etrian Odyssey games on DS I know that they're all genuinely excellent games and well worth the price in terms of both playtime and enjoyability. I can easily get 40 hours out of each game. And the fact that they didn't change much aside from upgrading the graphics to HD is a positive thing. All the updated art looks very nice and clean (the completely new sprites look weird and out of place, but I suppose inconsistent art isn't a new problem for this series). But the only reason they're charging that much is because they think the series has enough diehard loyal fans that they can get away with it. And the fact they threw in some PNGs of Persona characters as a $3 DLC is just insulting.On the bright side this is a Sega game and not a Nintendo game which means it goes on frequent deep discounts, and this actually came out three years ago so the fact that I forgot about it till now means that it often goes as low as $11.99. So I guess that kinda solves the problem because that is an excellent price for a game of this caliber.
The font is so disgusting in these ports. I swear sometime starting in the late 2010's developers just stopped giving a single fuck about decent looking fonts. Playing without a second screen is kinda soulless too.
