This in conjunction with the game still selling well despite being devoid of content made them realize they didn't have to put effort in because "you'll buy it anyways" so each subsequent game had fewer features than the previous. The GTS is now in a phone application. Ranked battles take place in a separate game. The games themselves are bare bones and launch with gamebreaking bugs and terrible performance.

They legitimately are a small indie studio tasked with making an enormous game. It was all fine and good when all they had to make was pixel shit but they just can't keep up nowI can't fault them for that, but according to the leaks Nintendo offered to have Square or Namco help them and they refused

Hopefully they invest heavily into spinoffs after the success of Pokopia. I don't really have any hopes for the mainline games anymore, most of the potential is in spinoffs which they ignored over the past decade in favor of shitty mobile games.

>>740183717The most accurate argument I have for gen 2 being the best is during 2010 I had a classmate who had never touched pokemon game before play crystal as I played through silver and would have a link battle after both of us beat red. He enjoyed it a lot, then he wanted to do it again with the other pokemon games so I lended him emerald, and then he barely was able to play for more than a day and said "it just aint the same" Emerald is still one of my favorites but it was an interesting to see that come out of someone who doesn't have any nostalgic ties to the franchise.
