Food is extremely abundant in layer 1, probably the best free food in the game, in the form of Geofruits. Anytime you see a geotree you almost always eat all the geofruits it has and carry on exploring, the only time you shouldn't eat anymore is if your expie is full or staked. Just eating all the geofruits you see is enough to keep you very satiated in both thirst and hunger for layers 1 and 2, and you can save all the storable food and drink for the rest of the layers after. You can also make soup from meat, water, and campfires in layer 1, though again that is best saved for later. Additionally, those leadbushes have meat you can eat if you need to.

Playing unchipped for the first time, so far in layer 2 after 3 hours. Not having a time limit makes it really easy to explore and craftmaxx, and no X-ray vision is offset by being able to take all the time in the world. I assume it gets worse.

At least the time limit is more than you'll ever need.I think if I ever do another max settings run, I'll keep traps at max, but disable the increasing traps per layer modifier. All the extra spiders may have possibly been making the game laggy.+4 limb armor setting granted us all 80% damage resistance across our entire bodies. We never really had to worry about damage from falls or jump pads.But many traps were still just as dangerous as normal, such as landmines, turrets, coils, and especially radiation. Thankfully assuming you survive the injuries the maximum healing rate means you won't be crippled for long. We fractured bones multiple times and they healed in just 4 minutes without a splint which was really nice. Infections are really nasty with max settings, their chance is tripled and progress really fucking fast. If you forget and leave them undisinfected for even a short while they will have already progressed to when you first started treating it, or worse, especially with low immunity.The 3x encumbrance cap was awesome as expected. We were basically never overencumbered and could carry minibarrels on top of all our other completely full hoarded gear with little problem.3x attack damage is awesome. It even applies to tools like drills and shit, making digging instant and effortless.100% traders is nice.3x trader item amount is nice.
