They did try to gank me once when I was in Silverpine with PVP enabled but I ran into SFK to duke them and came out swinging after healing and buffing up. The bots will never replace humans, but if you like exploring Azeroth and doing the quests at your own pace, in whatever order you want without any pressure then I'd say it's a good way to do it. I didn't bother reaching endgame, I ended up boundary breaking and fucking around in beta zones like the Lumber Mill under Stormwind or beta Quel'Thalas. Those were always my favourite places in WoW anyway.
