I stopped talking to most of my close friends at the time in my late 20's
and the ones I didn't stop talking to were not ones I spent a lot of time gaming with
happened because a couple of them decided they want to move to another city across the country together. I had no desire to do this as not only did I have a solid job here, but my family were here, and a lot of other friends, I also had no interest in the city they were moving to. One of them was doing it for a job and the other 2 just jumped on board because they had nothing on in their lives and two of them were working basic entry level 0 required skills jobs so they could just find w/e when they moved.
when I told them no and that I had no interest, one of them got one of their partners to move with them as well to make an even 4 and they flipped out on me about this.

was funny because I saw the girl who one of them was dating and moved with them back here and she told me she didn't know what was happening before hand and that two of them had broken up with their partners to move and she didn't realize the exact situation that was happening and moved back after a few months, it really fucked up her work and housing situation. The one who initially wanted to do this ended up moving again for work when she fucked off and she realized the whole situation was going to be a mess and he had tried to get them to do this again with him.
the other two still apparently live there and constantly between jobs, a mutual of ours says one of them really regrets it and he hates it but he isn't in a position to move back but apparently comes back regularly to visit his parents.

no idea why they all got so upset for me not wanting to move and flipped out on me

Me and a few other anons from /a/ have successfully found each other on 4chan, skype, IRC, other forums, and most recently discord, but we mainly just shoot the shit and watch anime together. Not exactly a friendgroup per se, more like people who happen to enjoy each other's opinions.
