How many hours of Japanese do I need to read/understand this?
>>
>>742031606
probably less than one hour for that specific line of dialogue
>>
>>742031606
read: a weekend, since it's kana only
understand:1-2 years. And the fact that it's only kana does not actually make it easier to understand if you're not a japanese child

just watch all of Cure Dolly and crawl through it with EN > JP and JP > JP dictionaries (Weblio)
that's how I've been playing DLsite games
>>
>>742033032
you could have run all of those through an auto textfile translator genius
>>
>>742031606
Just play the gbc games or the 3ds remakes
>>
>>742035510
but then you did not understand what was said, nor can you without assistance of robots understand what someone means when they say similar shit. "understanding" =/= "being able to read translated text." Understanding is getting the underlying concept.
>>
>>742031606
this is sub N5. no kanji and it's all extremely common words
>>
>>742035668
>sub...
that's not what that means, its JLPT N5. N5 to N1 are not "difficulty" levels but "comprehension/understanding" layers of "how complex something is to understand." Beginner baby shit is usually in JLPT N5-4 range due to the occasional rare-ish word.

some of them are old 480p games with crunched up image text though
but I earnestly want to learn JP is why
>>
>>742036165
you need at least JLPT N3 for most average video games for under 12 years old age category, get to work.
>>
>>742031606
about 4 seconds
>>
>>742031606
I learned basic Japanese to play this game because the translation is never coming out and it only took a few months.
>>
>>742037557
based anon, you are on your way to Japanese Masterbaiting.
>>
>>742031606
My suggestion would be:
>Start learning jiragan/katakana, it'll take few weeks to 1 month.
>Learn basic grammar, it will take you 2 to 3 months. 4/5 if you're not particularly smart.
Then, use OCR and texthooker to read all the kanjis you don't know and enjoy the game.
>>
>>742038994
don't learn grammar, just learn usual phrases until it sinks in and practice reading instead other than just basic: tachi = lots of, and the counter types, wo = verb, ha/ga = to be/is/was etc and go from there. Grammar is for once you have at least some basic understanding of the language. (which is how kids learn, they first learn daily use from their parents and common dictionary shit and learn through stories then they learn through grammar at school etc...)
>>
Is Wagotabi any good, weebanons?
>>
>>742039547
trash, just grind through anki with an RPG/vidya deck.

A few hours if it's just that specific sentence.
It's not homoenglish.
>>
>>742035617
in your effort to sound smarter than you really are you missed the part where he said dlsite games
>>
>>742040896
DLsite games are often in the JLPT 2-3 category, not many require beyond that, some of the gooner games do have deep shit in text though.
>>
>>742040638
chinese/indian made this. Heel does not sound like Heal. "Heel" "Hill" sound more akin to each other due to the connecting "ee"/"i" sound. No English accent makes Flower and Flour sound the exact same either one has a glottal stop and the other does not even in Britbong, even write and right do not sound the exact same, the person who made this is confirmed AI assisted, gay and fake nigger. Only two of these are actual homophones.
>>
ah yes, japanese, the language known to not have homophones.
>>
>>742041901
Too bad for you
>>
>>742031606
Isn't there a rom hack translation of this?
>>
>>742031606
You can learn kana in two weeks or so, and you will be able to read it. This particular sentence should be understandable to anyone watching anime <some name> "so-sonna, masaka, Tori-nano? Do-doushite?".
But if you want to understand real sentences instead of just "omg wtf" then you gotta start learning words and grammar. See >>>/int/djt
>>
>>742042571
it's been worked on over the past decade, so never.
>>
>>742043089
How long does it take until I can form practical sentences like "look at these 2 monkeys having sex. i think that is funny."?

this is a generic english teaching infographic
use reverse image search, it's existed since before 2019
>>

>”Tori-nano”
Think it’s supposed to be “Terii”, the ー elongating to sound like the name “Terry”
>>
>>742043495
Took me a year for basic stuff like that.
>>
>>742043641
Ah yeah, right.
>>
Probably just a few months if you actually use some textbooks and do your anki reps. Think all those early nip jrpgs didnt use kanji since the resolution was too low
>>
>>742041591
>Heel does not sound like Heal. "Heel" "Hill" sound more akin to each other due to the connecting "ee"/"i" sound.
What the fuck are you talking about lol
>>
>>742041591
>retard with region dialect thinks his regional dialect is correct
it isn't. Midwestern fags are the closest to "true" or blank slate English which is why they are easy to understand for most ESLs
