It's kind of true. I "watch" streams every day but really I just have it on in another tab while I play league or browse this site. Actually watching them gets boring really fast. No idea how so many people can just sit in chat for hours.

He invited me to play Dark Souls 1, since I hadn't played it at the time, and while I was playing we got to talking about the notion of watching others play. I mentioned how when I was growing up, I used to watch Lets Players in the early 2010s for stuff like that. I was a lonely kid, what can you do. He obviously had some aversions to it and said that those kind of things just aren't the same as actually playing games and/or going through it together with real people. And on that day, it was like a switch flipped. I agreed, be was right! And basically ever since, I've gone out my way to play games myself and basically stopped watching LPers, unless it was some game I had played before, and put them on as background noise than actively watching, which became rarer over time. Cue to about 5 years after, this fucking retard and others are rambling and obsessed over vtubers to such a pathetic degree, even though it's the exact same thing he said he hated. It was disgusting to see him be such a hypocrite for simping over some bitch and everyone else talking about it like it was the best and funniest thing in the world. So yes, watching people play games is a waste of time, and if you still do it, even if it's your mentally ill digital waifu grifting for money, you're a fucking retarded faggot who should be put down.
