Physical games going away sucks, but the core anxiety is a lack of ownership in the digital age, and limiting your advocacy to "bring back physical games grrr!!!!!" won't solve shit, especially when access can still be revoked if data isn't entirely on-disc.Physical games are cool, I like collecting them, I like having something I can hold, but they're slowly becoming items for enthusiasts. Trying to stake everything on shaky ground like that is not going to play out in anyone's favor. There's also the fact that I want to be able to buy digital games with confidence. They're convenient! Everyone should have the same rights regardless of their preferred format. What we should be vocalizing support for is greater consumer protection legislation globally so these companies can't get away with stealing your shit, even if it's a digital copy.
