In most other friendslop games socializing is usually supposed to be the driving factor of the game and it's tacked on as a gimmick, while the regular gameplay is nonexistant. Peak actually has gameplay that isn't just a gimmick, a clearly defined start and finish that can be achieved in one sitting, that works as a solo game, and the social factors are not really that important and only provide emergent gameplay rather than hinging on it. These friendslop games that you play once always remind me of the 98% metric ton of garbage VR games that were developed as "VR first" games, which just end up being dogshit or a tech demo at best, while games that were made as games first end up being the way better VR games (ie. Rimworld, Skyrim, Schedule 1 in particular, etc all had malware at some point, be it from steam workshop, nexusmods, thunderstore or any other location. The only upside is that, unlike Skyrim dll's, they use C# and thunderstore will give you the source code of it upfront (you can use AI to verify it for you). Still could put you at risk with the bundle files but those mods are rare. They're not so rare in UE games though where you have to download a 200 GB SDK just to be able to unpack them and check the code, which is why Meccha Chameleon also had mods with malware recently. Even games like garry's mod can expose you to malware just for simply hosting a malicious game mode.However pc players know this so I don't know why you're larping as if this was news. It's like one of the basic principles that you probably shouldn't download and run every exe without being critical
