The music is ok, not really special though. The mechanic of stealing enemy mechs is interesting but works better on early open space levels than the latter levels with shitton of terrain. I just cleared the game once and then tried scoring for a bit and it's extremely annoying. Like even the pick ups are matching colors, why are the gems the same color as the bells? This makes no sense. The only praise I have for it is that they lowered boss timers substantially which makes bosses way more fun.

I don't mind the RNG in EoSD too much because Touhou itself has a few games that devolve into patterns clearly not meant to be dodged without a bomb. There's a bonus for capturing spell cards but the games definitely feel focused on survival and nothing more. The RNG means there are areas where you probably will end up bombing, and in execution that means another planned bomb. For NB runs it sucks, but that's a bit of a meme category.
