I refunded slay the princess. My first playthrough the narrator revealed himself as being arbitrarily in control and able to override my decisions and the princess revealed herself to be an empty mirror, got the romantic haze ending, I told the mound I'd just wait, it didn't let me argue, it didn't let me say no, I'm not going to loop through endlessly to validate you, it just closed itself. Arguably my ending is the best one.
>>746168487You're supposed to experience all the branches dumbfuck
>>746168545lol
>>746168545>YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO PLAY THE WHOOOOOOOOOOOOLE GAME BROuh..........what?
so now that the dust has settled was it a good game?
>>746168808fuck no it just has pretty artflipping through an art book with nothing written would offer a better experience
>>746168487>>746168808Slay the Princess made me cry. I think you might need to not be an autist and to possibly have been in a loving long term relationship in order to "get it". Great VN. I wish their other game didn't look like tranny tumblr art, because Slay the Princess is so good that i wanted to check out their other game... but the other game is too ugly and pozzed looking.
>>746168963>have been in a loving long term relationship in order to "get it".fugg.
>>746168963I was married for 5 years, my ex wife looked like the cow creator of the game. Anyway that aside, yeah I'm autistic as fuck but the author didn't write characters, they wrote a piss poor take at existentialism. Even a simple preface characterizing the princess, the player character, the world, pick any, would have gone a long way towards there being stakes in anything, what was presented instead was what if the demiurge was a tumblrina redditor, and sexy princess art or whatever to sell slop product
>>746168963>I think you might need to not be an autist and to possibly have been in a loving long term relationship in order to "get it"that's how i felt about romeo is a deadman
>>746169091>the author didn't write characters, they wrote a piss poor take at existentialism. The authors wrote a story about how your interactions within a relationship can have unforeseen and unintended consequences that stem from actions you might not have even put any thought into.
>>746169383It didn't let me decisively take any action. It did let me resolve the nature of the situation, tucked its tail between its legs and close itself. Why would I want to read what an infertile fat twat has to say about relationships?
>>746169456I've given my opinion, and you've given yours. I just don't think the game is the existentialism that you think it is. I think the game is the cause and effect interaction between the hero and the princess. The existentialism is just he resolution that turns it into a game.
>>746169534the princess doesn't existthe entire reality is arbitrary and meaninglessand the poor entity that made it is hopelessly confused and terribly cockyit had no mockery option but it was happy to mock methe author was just kind of dumb, honestly
>>746168808the voice acting was terrible
>>746169626Yeah, I get that. I'm just saying to me, Slay the Princess is the interactions between the hero and the princess and the cause and effect of the choices, and I loved it, and it made me cry. To you, Slay the Princess is the ending of the game, and you hated it, and you think it's meaningless.
>>746169780Imagine if you read a real love story.
>>746168571I'd love to see those warlocks unleashed
>>746169827There are different kinds of love stories, anon. You can read the Count of Monte Cristo as a love story. You can read The Book of the New Sun as a love story. You can read Lolita as a love story. You can read House of Leaves as a love story. What do you consider to be a love story?
>>746169091>what if the demiurge was a tumblrina redditorWhich is precisely how you know that the Narrator is full of shit and that you shouldn't side with him. All he does is screech autistically. He never shows any proof that the destruction of the universe is imminent, "two more weeks" away. He never shows any proof that the universe even exists at all, that you and the Princess aren't the only things that exist. And as he himself states, he was mortal, so he can't pierce the veil of what happens after death. The Princess, on the other hand, does know what happens after death because it is in her purview to know, as the goddess of change. And if your complaint is>demiurge wasn't depicted as KEWLWhy? Are you intrinsically inclined to side with FALSE gods? As long as they're cool and badass?
>>746168487One thing I've learned if the game says overwhelming positive It's probably trash
>>746169929I don't care much for them.
>>746169982If you can't name a love story which I might already have read and have an opinion on then your previous post is meaningless.
>>746169979they're both the demiurge you retard and she's just as bad as him, the player character, the person, real spirit that has the displeasure of consuming this garbage is invalidated by them both, she's not the embodiment of change, she doesn't exist unless you let her create variants of herself off of you over and over, and she wants to torment you for it, it's just gross, no appreciation, no gratitude, no love of creation, clearly some tardgnostic that barely scratches the surface of any of the trash they've consumed, but they at least figured out how to sell the whole thing to midwits>>746170019tristan and isolde
>>746170119>tristan and isoldeOkay, I have not read this one. I still don't think that devalues this game as a love story though, and I stand by my earlier statement that there are many types of love stories. There isn't just "two people meet each other and instantly fall madly in love", which is extremely unrealistic and isn't even how normal relationships go 9 times out of 10. I think this game does a very good job of showing how easy it is to hurt the people closest to you, even if you aren't intending to.
>>746170286How?
>>746170328The game is pretty explicit in telling you. Pretty much any of the red text.
>>746170463She didn't red text at me until the narrator decided my decision was bad and discarded it. So she didn't tell me anything.
>>746170508I mean, there are different branches. Anyway, I think I've said basically everything I've had to say. I don't think the existentialism at the end of the game is the game, at least to me it wasn't. That certainly wasn't the part that made me cry.
>>746170119No, you cretin, the demiurge is clearly the Narrator. He implants fear and doubt in your thoughts when there is no reason for you to fear or doubt anything. >create variants of herself off of you over and over, and she wants to torment you for itYou create those variants because you are ignorant of your true nature at first. And when you consider your true nature, nothing bad even happens to you. You don't actually die when the Narrator says "everything goes dark and you die", you fucking idiot.>no appreciation, no gratitude, no love of creationThe one thing the Princess wants the most is to escape together with you. Even as she realizes that she can't rejoin you after the Narrator forced a mitosis upon the being the two of you were once before - the true God. And the first thing she says after the two of you escape the construct as newly formed gods - "It's beautiful". Referring to the universe. She doesn't destroy the universe as the mustache twirling villain that presses a big red button that launches nukes. She destroys the universe as a natural force of entropy, and even then she says that a new one will be born after. Reincarnation is literally confirmed to be true in the setting.
Whatever man, I just really liked Witch and Thorn
>>746170785nonsense I only "died" once when the narrator forced the situation then got the mound after the smitten and her freely left of their own accord, there was no point repeating anything, it made me look in the mirror and see my "true self" too all she had to say for "herself" was just go through the loop a few more times not for any particular reason, I just want to experience it. I did everything I'd have done, she hardly motivated me on her own merits to fulfill her, so in a way I killed them both, and refunded the game, soul sucking garbage product
>>746168487>I quit game because <arbitrary bullshit that triggered my autism>congrats
>>746171167ty
>buy game>slay princess>game ends>less than 10 minutes have passed>refundMy first and probably last VN.
>>746171257based
>>746171105>she hardly motivated me on her own merits to fulfill herThen don't make claims about her true nature when you don't know anything about it. You only completed the Damsel route and then you say that "she's the demiurge". Get outta here.
>>746171439She could have indicated otherwise, "she" closed "herself" when I pressed on it. There's no point collecting garbage princesses when I already made the best one.
>>746171489>best oneYou are actually tranime brained
>>746171698A loving gracious princess that is naturally submissive and gentle is ideal and true to women. Anything else is transdelusional pornographication. Thanks for posting that hideous "art" to confirm.
>>746168487>>>/vg/
I kinda checked out of this game when I realized I basically had a checklist of options I had to all test out in the very first chapter, but when I reset after each time by refusing to enter the cabin it eventually gave me a shitty ending where i dissolve. Not a huge fan of these types of games where you need to map out your entire choice tree just to advance and no I don't usually play VNs, though I kind of doubt it is as pervasive in those.
>>746171840The creators of this game are high on their own farts and it's apparent in the first choice sequence.
>>746171780Not beating the tranime brained allegations with that one, chief. You were not fucking married for five years, no way.
>>746172087you sound like a foid or a simpor an actual tranny lel
>>746172109>simpSays the faggot who only did Damsel
>>746172150>treat her kindly, receive kindnesshow terrible
>>746172202>recieve kindnessYou missed the whole point of the route
>>746168808Yeah it was fun and I had a nice time with it. If you want to narrow the definition of game to not include it then whatever, you do you, but whatever you want to call it I enjoyed it and it was good.
>>746170286>I have not read this oneno one tell him
>>746172252that the mound is a retard and couldn't handle me not wanting more?
>>746168545Nah not OP but I just play games like this once, get my ending, and leave them. Why play it again? It spoils the authentic first experience.
Game includes my fetish. That's the only good thing about it.
>>746172875Can't. She's nopan. Seriously, all the art I have of her is nopan, I haven't seen any images of her panties.
>>746168487>y-you'll come back, just wait and see>never didthe best way to win the game is not to play
>>746168963>the other game is too ugly and pozzed lookingI do find it very amusing that despite it being just a side project for them STP was a massive hit, meanwhile no one cares about Scarlet hollow despite it being their passion project
>>746168808It certainly wasn't from a technical standpoint. A renpy VN shouldn't be 20 GB and raping your CPU just to render some basic animations.
