Not even bad. At 80% completion you must have experienced at least 90% of the game.

The Ubisoft model of completion. Game is 70% complete but you finished all main and side quests.

I'm so glad I don't relate to these anymore. Just see things through. It's not hard and you don't have some made up mental issues you are just lazy and looking for the next dopamine hit

Such judgemental image. Most of you normies couldn't imagine being different.

I got out of this partially because demoralization posters on this site really started to piss me off. The fact that someone would so easily say that everything will be terrible and never good again really got on my nerves. Especially more and more as good things happened and I realized that these guys have been saying this stuff for years. My brain became aware of what causes it, it started to suppress it until it finally purged a lot of it from my own mind. I still sometimes feel random bad emotions, but have become a lot better at identifying pointless doomerism.
Tldr: The obsessive mind can sometimes do good things if it becomes disenchanted with bad obsessions.

Honestly at a certain point you should be settled into a single game genre or franchise. It's abnormal to keep jumping to a new game with a new twist.

Most people play a single thing. Whether it's pokemon, call of duty, GTA, dark souls, world of Warcraft, Mario.

At this point I struggle to try new games because my brain is locked into the shit I like. I don't even get past most tutorials before I'm bored and having to learn a new thing.
>>
>>746719995
This
Trying to be king of a medium or genre is a trap. Just because a lot of discussion is about a variety of things, doesn't mean most people are actually enjoying all those things. You'll just burn out if you don't pick favorites and stick mostly to them, only picking up something new when you genuinely feel interested in it.

Some genres of games have so little games worth playing you either expand your horizons, replay them 100s of times like a retard or you find a new hobby.
>>
Your problems are self inflicted, you just know it'll be a lot of work to fix them. :-)
>>
>>746720819
Or you be the change you want to see in the world and make your own contribution to the genre. In the age of Unity and AI programming, it isn't really hard to make a game. Although it is still quite hard to find a solid idea.
>>
>>746721121
The biggest misunderstanding of those like us with obsessive minds, is believing we don't know that it is all our problem. You really don't understand what it is like, both the problems and the surprising benefits.

Just do something else retard. Get into an uncomfortable position where you'd wish to play the boring shitty game rather than staying in a shitty position. Does the medication help? Or is it just gonna turn me into a drone.

Normie used to mean non-4channer before neurotypical became widespread.
>>
>>746724256
The medication helped me stop doing the small mistakes, where my level of focus is now continuous, even months after I last took medicine, apparently because it does normalize your brain development over time. With all the details you describe it seems really likely that you have a case. For me I also stopped getting annoyed by small little delays out of proportion, but at one point after some years of taking it, methyphenidate was making me irate with people against my own will so I switched to vyvanse and had no such problem since.

You are unironically better off getting a sleep study first, and seeing if its actual ADHD or the brain damage variety from lifelong poor sleep.

You are also a lot better of looking up the cognitive therapy, so you can stop feeding your habits.

because endings suck, endings are unpleasant in general
but usually because it goes like this
>start game
>learn systems
>find ways to exploit those systems
>level up
>have fun trying to min max
>not reasonably possible to min max any further
>game presents no new challenges or new systems to let you learn and exploit
>game presents no content that requires you to utilise its systems to more than like 30% effectiveness to actually overcome it
so start a new game, get new systems to learn and progress through until the challenge disappears again
and don't say "well just artificially limit yourself omg" the fun is not in beating a challenge with a level 1 character with a club, that is almost devoid of fun. the fun is in the levelling and choices and progress and exploitation of strategy and mechanics you want to use

Now when I say people typically play one thing, I mean on average it's the same thing they like, and occasionally you go and try something new when you want variety.
Like once a month you see a new movie or try a new game. But most of the time everyone is going back to what they know is good.

I definitely go out of my way to try new things but I replay Elden ring and have thousands of hours in fromsoft games because that's my comfort. Don't lie and say you don't have your go to thing you replay more than anything.

>why do we need to label every negative attribute people have with a mental illness
Because ADHD behavior isn't compatible with modern society.
>>
>>746725330
You really should, NTA but I have ADHD, used to take Concerta when I was younger when I was first diagnosed but stopped during early high school because I let some LITERAL retards convince me that maybe it was just a misdiagnosis when school life became easier with friends and fucked most of my 20s up as a result. I got back on Concerta about 2 years ago now and it's been truly one of the most positive and tangible improvements to my life. Between it and speaking with my psychiatrist (I get it covered through insurance with work) it has made me feel like I've shed my skin and become the more idealized version of myself I wished I could be when I was wasting my time unmedicated. I'm more focused at work, with my hobbies, I've even finally gotten on track with taking care of my health and losing weight. The only thing that sucks is the ~1-2hrs of medically induced depression from the dopamine crash when the effects of the medication start to fade later in the day.

If you take this advice seriously, don't go into it expecting identical results. Everyone's journey is going to be different, but I truly sincerely suggest you take that initiative in getting a sitting to discuss your options with your doctors, no matter how hard it might seem. If you find a plan that works with you, I sincerely believe that you too will find tangible improvements to your life as well. It'll be worth that effort. If anything I wish this whole process was easier for people with an actual diagnosis to get the help they need. (and FUCK the people who just play armchair psychiatrist and just say they have shit like ADHD without a diagnosis. This type of shit is serious and this stupid attitude had only made it harder for those who need it. It pisses me off these days to see people play pretend without ever putting in the effort to get an assessment.)

>>
>>746729549
if you're serious, unless your doctor is SHIT they are going to get you referred to a psychiatrist first to undergo an assessment. ADHD medication are not just some magic bullet, as they can have negative impacts on your heart if prescribed recklessly. Even if they don't, ask to get referred for an assessment first. Don't try to rush it.

>>
>>746729820
I'm actually Canadian too, I understand the struggle, but yeah it can be tough if you resort to just sitting on a waiting list for the referral. When I spoke with my family doctor about getting treatment again I actually did let myself sit on a waiting list for a full year because my doctor wanted me to get reassessed first. After a while tho my mom actually told me the name of the medication I used to take (thank god it stuck in her head after like 20 years) and I just booked a meeting with my doctor where I basically said "listen, I know I have ADHD, I had the diganosis when I was kid, I had to go through mid 2000s special ed for it, and I took concerta and know the very deliberate shift in my academics where I went from a straight A student to a B grade student or below when I stopped taking it in high school, I'm certain I do not need the reassessment and should just go back to my medication."

After that she made me sign a waiver, and then started by prescribing me the lowest volume dosage possible and we progressively bumped it over time until we found the sweet spot (I kept a written log of how I felt throughout the day over a 3 month period) I've settled into 27mg now. I'm not sure the process of getting in touch with the private sector for an assessment to get around the waiting list, but it may be worth exploring if you think you need help sooner rather than later.

>>746719995
I dunno, I feel like this'll lead to having a rather unrefined gaming palette and inability to make cross-genre lateral connections on influences (which is something I especially enjoy as someone who aspire to someday be a dev). Genres also cultivate transferable skills between them you wouldn't expect.

Anyway, back to my 30th+ playthrough of any given Mega Man game.
>>
>>746729984
If you are born with it it is not a fetish, it is natural.
>>
>>746730638
It may vary by province, but you could consider taking a drive around your local area to see if there's any clinics (even walk-in clinics, thats where I go to see my doctor) that have signage looking for new patients. Our population has been going down since the new government closed the loopholes with temp visas (iirc our population went down in 2025 and has been going down all of 2026 as well as temp visas have expired over time) so you might find places looking for new patients now. I know from the last time I saw my doctor in August that they have signs up signifying that they are open to take on more patients, but I live in southern Ontario. If you feel really desperate, again, don't be afraid to look at the private sector.

The hardest part is just getting the diagnosis and the paperwork, once you have it keeping the prescription up is easy because you can take that to basically any pharmacist and have the majority of it covered under your provincial health care service.

You'll have to keep a finger on the pulse then. Don't let waiting to get in with a family doctor get in the way of looking to get a sitting in though. If you wait to get a new family doctor and only then ask to get referred to a psychiatrist you're just doubling the waiting lists you need to sit through (literally all they are doing on their end in this context is just sending emails out and waiting for replies.) It IS possible for you to do that busywork yourself, in your position that's probably the best course of action. Better than waiting to get someone to put you on a second waiting list.

>eventually shit like everything in op image starts driving me completely insane to where I genuinely cant take it anymore and adhd meds are the only thing I never tried so I see a psych about it and try Vyvanse for the first time
It's been like a month now and holy fuck, it's like I've been drunk/high my whole life without even realizing it and im just now sober. Genuinely feels like someone took my brain out of my head, cleaned out all the oily dogshit infesting it, supercharged it and then put it back in, and I would've avoided so much misery if I had at least tried this when I was like 20 instead of waiting until now, any miserable ADHDniggers reading this who have never tried stimulants need to do so ASAP this shit is making me like 200% less mentally ill
>>
>>746719995
This is only true of zoomers, whose gaming demographics disproportionately represent genuinely mentally ill autists and vapid normies. Anyone who grew up playing single player or local multiplayer console games, which is the vast majority of people pre-7th gen, is used to playing a variety of things that are fun in completely different ways.

I play all sorts ranging from 2d platformers, 3d platformers, racing, FPS, JRPG, CRPG, ARPG, Metroidvania, 3D melee combat, imsim, whatever. I genuinely enjoy all of those genres, and what I enjoy even more is each game being different from the last. I'm not interested in playing the same thing over and over with incremental developments. I'm tempted to say you're not really a gamer if what you enjoy is a very specific niche interest and community rather than video games as a whole but I don't know if that's something worth gatekeeping.
>>
>>746731964
Kind of hard to do when your ADHD gets in the way of everything. It would have to be a straight up matter of life or death to be able to get me to put in that kind of effort. Not to mention the matter of extreme social anxiety making me making a phone call physically impossible.
I literally ended up homeless for a month because of that.

One day I had a Ghost energy drink and a canned coffee in one day and I entered a state of euphoria that lasted hours. I was very productive at what I did and felt like I could do anything. Then I decided I'd take some entertainment time and it was fun, but it led to me lazing off the rest of the day. Maybe I should do it again and actually dedicate it all to productive shit this time.

You just outed yourself as the abnormal who only plays games and treats it as a serious hobby. Like i said, the vast majority of people play a few games once in a while and they'll circle back to the same games on repeat because that's normal. It's not in their interest to expand a fucking horizons of gaming, they would rather take a vacation to another country or try a new restaurant and eat something new.
Some people are serious foodies, or gamers. It's the serious enthusiastic specialist hobbyists like yourself who are blind to the vast average of people who treat it as a distraction and comfort.

I'm also on Concerta but sometimes I wonder if it's really working. It sounds like you've benefitted from it a lot more, how much do you take?
>>
>>746732296
Trust me, I know from experience. Even if it's something where you can only make meaningful progress during the rare days when ADHD is not actively working against you it's just matter of trying put in that effort. It doesn't have to be every day, the fact that you're even talking about it and choosing to confront it alone is solid progress. In fact, what got me started on my own process was seeing the same type of images like in OP on Twitter. What kept me focused was trying to keep the end goal that I'll be better off and learning to recognize when ADHD was working against me. Being able to notice it would then lead to me getting frustrated with it, and that frustration would serve as fuel to keep up the initiative. Just gotta keep the eye on the prize and the belief that it'll be worth it in the end.
>>
>>746732761
Some anons were talking about ADHD meds earlier. I remember experimenting with some to see if I liked it. I remember I was also unemployed at the time so I would take a Vyvanse in the morning then make a yummy coffee and feel the most euphoric buzz for hours and play world of Warcraft classic alongside binging Star Trek TNG. Then I'd write a script for a video game essay I thought I'd produce for YouTube.
It was fucking amazing. But I noticed the burnout was shit, and I would get mean to my gf, so I went off them. I had a friend who was taking it and he would be so fucking mean to his gf because you're just taking meth at the end of the day.

Anyway I stick to the legal over the counter stims like redbull.

>try to learn math as a kid
>literal hell

>try to learn anything new
>make no real progress in a day so that means I'll never grow and never bother with it again

I take a single dose of 27mg every morning, it usually sticks in my system until around ~6-7pm (which is perfect for my work schedule.) It helps a lot when you can pair with other sources of healthy dopamine (for me I've been pairing it with going on runs in the afternoon, but I've been blessed with a WfH job with an hour break to find the time to do it.) But don't be too discouraged if it just turns out that Concerta doesn't work for you. There's no magic bullet so it could just be that you need something different for your unique brain chemistry. If it wasn't this complicated there wouldn't be so many different options to begin with (and why I lament we live in a world where this overall process isn't easier)

I have certain things I always come back to, and favorites of course, but I'll never understand people who refuse to branch out and try new things. Like 99% of books fucking suck to read but once you find the one that is well written and interesting you won't have that issue of forgetting to internalize the details. Majority of writers are mongoloids, it's hard to find the good ones.

Chris Wraight is the only author I consistently been able to enjoy and he does short Warhammer stories that are peak to me. Lord of Silence and the scouring were so fucking good and it has ruined Warhammer because nothing has been as peak as these. So easy to understand and know everything from the moment you open them.

Most books I read are like pic related. Pure dogshit.

I actually took a trip to Austin Texas years ago and lived with a girl I was seeing at the time to gauge how I overall felt about the US. I had no issues with the people (everyone I met during my stay were pleasant and kind) but it's just not for me. My family benefited greatly from the various social services here in Canada that I know they wouldn't have had access to in the US, so it's easy to better appreciate those perks even with the knowledge that I could on paper be making more money south of the border (although went accounting for cost of living it's not by much.) If things truly go to shit my plan B country is Portugal, my dad was born there so I got easy access to EU citizenship as a result.

The only things I wish were better is the housing market (not a unique issue to Canada) and overall availability of doctors for others. However I firmly believe both are temporary issues as more boomers die and get the fuck out of the way.

This is what I also notice. Being super happy is great, but if it isn't contained to something brief like a burst of laughter, it often leads to a terrible empty feeling when it leaves which can cause stress and make you more impulsive. I personally also feel like I become aloof whenever I enter a too euphoric state. I view my life like some grand comedy and really want to mess with people because it seems fun. It is almost like becoming too stimulated makes me drunk. The only time I've felt like it doesn't result in much bad is if I induce a euphoric state as I'm going to sleep. Any slump would happen while I'm unconscious and it is good to go to sleep happy and satisfied. This is of course induced by mental process, not taking a bunch of stimulants when I'm trying to go to sleep. Although whether I become stimulated or not from the mental process, since I nearly always have energy anyway I am used to sleeping with it. It is cool to find ways to strategically use emotional states like euphoria and try to minimize the negative ones while maintaining a balance to ensure slumps don't hit too hard.

Anon the reason your family is on assistance is because the entire nation is mismanaged so poorly it's almost impossible for anyone to live a basic life.
My entire working years I've never managed to get above minimum wage. Even after getting educated no jobs wanted to pay me above that. And the only cars I could buy were used, they were beyond worthless because of the shi winters.

Within a month of living here (in bay area California) I got hire to sit on my ass for $26 an hour, and the car I found was in perfect condition at a way lower cost used. The food is amazing and the people are great. I also have health insurance not that I need it.
I'm a completely average low ambition guy. And I've already found a comfortable living out here. Canada is holding you back in a thousand different ways that you couldn't be fully aware of until you leave.

I have this exact same issue. I can get to the end of an entire paragraph or even a page before realizing I haven't been paying attention and can't recall a single detail despite having read every word. Sometimes even when I read it again with the direct intention of taking it in I still find myself ignoring it like there's some sort of screen in front of my brain and only pick it up the third or fourth time.

It's even funnier because I can write far easier than I can read

I sort of "experienced" books, rather than actually picking up on what was written in it

Doctors in the 2010s were handing adhd meds out like candy, so everyone who was in on the joke got a diagnosis. There were law and accounting firms where basically every employee had an adderall prescription. Now people who actually have the disorder(or think they do) are learning about the symptoms from social media, so you have a second wave of people seeking diagnoses.

ADHD has many attributes that cannot be be misconstrued as laziness. You will never know what it's like to have your mind switch to an entirely different topic mid conversation so that you stand there looking like a retard after a losing a solid minute of dialogue, to not be able to gather your thoughts at all or process anything at all because a street is too loud, or to lose your keys only to find that they were in your hand the entire time. Time blindness is a big one too. I literally have to keep a giant clock on my desk or I can easily lose hours while feeling like 20 or 30 minutes passed. Things like CBT helps, but you're just setting yourself up for massive failure if you feel you can just power through without creating a ton of systems to compensate and constantly reinforcing them every day.

you can do it
even if it takes time, you know it won't kill you to delay it, and if it will hurt you to delay it, then you won't delay it.
you'll appreciate the day when you spend less time thinking and more time doing all of the things that need to -eventually- be done
the kicker is that doing tasks as they come gives you more time to think, which is the point you'll appreciate what you e done! remember, thinking itself is a task, and if you can skip out on labor, you can skip out on the internal back and forth
don't shackle your hobbies, chores, or work to praise / criticism.

To be clear, they're not "on assistance", my sister developed a chronic illness. There was no "holding back", she was simply born under a cursed star. At best you could look at it as a stroke of bad luck lol. I gave the US an honest shot when I lived in Texas for a month, it just wasn't for me. I'm very comfortable about where I'm at, but I got lucky and landed a great stable job here, I get paid well and above the curve, so I make it a habit to count my blessings. I wish it could be as easy for others.

I'm glad you found happiness in the US tho. No shade in making the decision to immigrate, in truth I have more respect that when you felt unhappy in Canada you took the initiative to seek opportunity in a place that suites your needs better compared to people like those fuck-ass alberta separatists too cowardly to do something as simple as applying for a work visa to just move to the US as if it would be difficult for someone with even a baseline Canadian education to find work compared to the nations most US companies import labour from.

I don’t think it’s good to just wallow in your own difficulties and be a perpetual doomer about it, but it is in fact the case that the brain is very complex and people are different and some people have significant trouble with focusing and attention, and we know this through looking at brain activity. That’s all. Of course you can always learn to remedy that and break bad habits and learn to work with your difficulties.

The worst one is when the indecision causes you to become stressed and feel insufficient and then your mind takes this negativity and lets it flow onto the entertainment your wasting time on and it ruins it for your by creating irrational feelings and then you are left with nothing to do but sit around and feel dissatisfied. Always be mindful of where feelings are coming from before you let them control your behavior towards something else.

>were handing adhd meds out like candy
they still are
>were law and accounting firms where basically every employee had an adderall prescription
there still are
even today in 2026 every other finance faggot, IT monkey, and college student has an Adderall script
t. IT monkey with a Vyvanse script

Tried all types of ADD meds and they do make me focus but they also have me tweaking and unable to sleep, and I already have severe insomnia. I got diagnosed with ADD when I was 16 but I sometimes wonder if I really have it because I always hear how stimulants make ADD people super calm, but I’m super sensitive to them. But I have literally all other symptoms so I dunno.
Now only meds I take are low doses of antipsychotics+melatonin+magnesium glycinate in order to sleep and I still get 6 hours if I’m lucky. I hate my life.

it doesn't even matter
after spending the last couple of years forcing myself to finish the games I play it has become abundantly clear that most devs give up when they game is like 60%
The last levels are always shit you've seen before but multiplied and tedious and always feels like it's testing your patience. and then you get to the 15 phase final boss fight with 3 different ending fake outs and I'm just done

have you tried weed for sleep

I smoked a lot of hash when I was younger and it did help me sleep a lot from what I remember. Sadly very illegal where I live, basically seen and treated the same as heroin. I don’t have contact with any of the people I used to buy from and I can’t be assed to do the whole dark web thing. I used to when Silk Road was online. But I’m trying to stay away as much as I can from substances now, I don’t drink anymore either.

This and what I believe to be AVPD are destroying me
>all the free time in the world yet spend most of the day lurking or jerking off and then squeeze in maybe two hours of vidya before bed
>have actually important shit to do now but I flip flop through my priorities so much that nothing ever gets done
>want intimacy so bad to the point of mental anguish but I'm too lazy and afraid to download a dating app
>takes ages to work up the courage to talk to anons outside of here and then I never talk to them again
>always feel like I'm not welcome or I'm in the wrong place no matter how close I think people are to me or how familiar I am with my surroundings
>always feel like I'm doing something wrong, and when I do something wrong for real, I swear off ever attempting it again
>always feel like my friends are going to abandon me and move on with their lives while I'm stuck the way I am now
>confidence and self-esteem are non-existent
>will never be in a relationship because the stress of finance, living and sleeping together, meeting relatives, and all the drama that can come with it destroys the few good things that make it worth it

I've notice this sort of shit being much easier to overcome when I don't use 4chan much. But at the same time, 4chan is the main place where I can discuss a variety of subjects so completely giving it up for a long period of time isn't too feasible. Maybe if I got a girlfriend I could use her for social interactions I don't want to burden my family with (like all the weird shit I discuss here). But I don't want to start looking for one until I have a decent amount of money to make me not look like a loser. I want to develop games to maybe get a bit of extra money I can use for investing and shit. But this shit of course destroys productivity so it takes me longer than it should. My problems feed into each other. If I don't do my best and succeed eventually I'll get forced into some desk job or some shit and then my life will collapse because my mind simply isn't structured for that shit. This fear is the only thing that really drives me. But it can also put me in a bad mood at times. Sigh

I relate to all of this. The worst part is that I have overcome all of it multiple times in the past but I always regress back to it eventually.
