What's with sudden love for Final Fantasy 8?No one fucking liked it for almost 3 decades, but suddenly zoomers think it's top?
Every Final Fantasy game was received better as it ages than when it was released.
People liked it but they liked 7 better and since 8 came after 7, it got shaded.

It's an easy way to look like you have refined or interesting taste.And the very few people who actually DO play the games themselves don't finish them, or play with save states, the ability to speed the game up, instawin battle options (all of which are now provided officially, not just on emulators) so they basically speedrun through the game with no challenge, no patience, no adventure, and always know exactly where to go, what to equip, whatever.Nobody doing any of this reassessment of old games is playing them like people had to play them at the time, and low and behold, they "play" the games with 0 friction and at the other end say "what was everyone complaining about?" and this is assuming they even bother to do that much instead of watching a longplay at double speed.
