I'm not gonna lie I kinda despise these lyrics with "La-li-le-lu" for being gibberish already. We already had a song on this sort of topic and it used the full La Li Lu Le Lo. It's not really a thing you can shorten, it has to be the full sequence to have the meaning it has, not even the characters in universe would EVER say "La-li-le-lu". They can only say La Li Lu Le Lo exactly as it is, because part of the point of it is lack of control in saying what they want to say.

oh! thanks for asking!! thinking about doing Static by Flavor Foley from the perspective of a video game character that doesn't normally have a voice so to speak. i was thinking of doing it about about a pokémon who is scared about being abandoned when time goes on since the gba games aren't compatible for trading and is sad but knows they have to let their trainer go but then YEARS later the trainer uses a hardware hack to transfer the pokémon to a new game. inspired by the tech people have used to connect the gba and switch 2 and the gnc and switch. i want it to be about a specific pokémon because i like to be super specific with my songs and Kanto/Johto are pretty overused so i wanted to highlight a less used or appreciated pokémon if i was gonna do that because every pokémon is someone's favourite and i want someone to smile knowing that this is a song all about that pokémon of theirs that doesn't get love otherwise

we're not here to parody every song in the world. we have no quota. picking a song that is viable to parody is part of the assignment. as a writefag, choosing a song it is impossible to work with is a far bigger failing than getting a lot of syllables wrong and forgetting to add rhymes, because at least in that case you could still put effort and creativity into the task. parodying a song that can only be used for mad libs is like going to a wedding cake baking group and bringing a cupcake tin and dog food as your only materials.

I get their point from the mindset of the skill level of the writefag. Some writefags don't have the skills or knowledge to do anything higher level and they need an existing structure to tell them "you need this many syllables in this many lines and rhyming words go here and here". That's perfectly fine, we don't aim for perfection or ask for high skill. Sometimes just taking the lyrics of barney's theme and adding "you're a jeet I'm a neet designated shitting street" is very funny without needing anything fancy.
It's still an error of that writefag to pick a song they can't handle, realize they have absolutely no way to write new lyrics for it, and then just flip a couple words and submit it anyway. If you realize you can't add anything to a song, just pick a different song. There are millions to choose from, and no reason to have sunk cost fallacy or something on a song you wrote no lines for.

yeah, as someone else that really respects that song, the lyrics need some serious work for syllable/stress/flow stuff. it's a great song that is great partly because the flow is so good that it sounds great even for people that don't know Japanese, and you throw that away if you're adding multiple extra syllables to lines that are supposed to be short and super catchy.

well let's make it educational then. I tried recording Play Hard using the Dolby On app (no clue if it's good, I just googled a bit and from what I understood it automatically does some things that I don't fully understand but I believe it's the kind of thing editfags do to make it sound a bit better) and it sounds different to the regular voice recording app that comes with the phone. I went into the smallest room in my apartment, put a blanket over me and the phone and did it, but my breathing pauses are very noticeable, any singfag tricks to avoid that? Also how to psychologically let go of the embarrassment? When I sing in my car I go all out and I think that helps because I am a terrible singer but at least if I put my soul into it then it's better, but I was not able to do that in my place.
