Isn't this the beginning of what Metzen meant by saying "Warcraft is too harsh?" It seems instead of choosing retail as their onboarding system for people that don't actually care for what Warcraft once was, they're instead using Forever as a vehicle to get people into nu-Warcraft. Retail will eventually really hammer that in after The Last Titan, but you never see moderation like that in Retail. People have to report you to force name changes, yet here they're just scraping information even if you haven't played the character and then forcing name changes and bans. It's complete hugbox bullshit and a fairly worrying sign about things to come if somehow things weren't already fucked up enough. Watch those new quests/dungeons/raids when the full thing comes out. It'll be a parallel to the absolute buffoonery of Dragonflight.

It certainly seems fake, because in all my years of playing WoW, I've personally never gotten a warning from a GM that I'm about to receive a temp ban and a name change. The norm is to just hand these out and call it a day, and usually the warning escalation means that if this is his first offense he would only receive the name change and not the ban. I'm of course not saying that this proves this to be fake, but it certainly seems like a fake image created to generate outrage and show how unreasonable Blizzard is. However the fact that he said "maybe google it", makes me think it is fake, and googling "is peon a slur against spanish people?" (or mexican) brings up pretty much nothing. I'm also woke as hell and never heard anyone say Peon is offensive. I also didn't find anything on the WoW forums about this. So yeah, I'd say likely a fabricated screenshot. Likely to generate outrage.
