Can you imagine if the game engines of old were still around? UE3, CryEngine 2011, Frostbite 1, etc...
We'd be playing our games at 4k144 on 4060-class GPUs

Like FEAR? Which this retard board jerks off
>>
>>748785512
Old versions of Frostbite truly impress me, Battlefield 3 still looks pretty good most of the time, and BF1 is basically ”could be released today and I’d still find it impressive graphically” tier.

And to be fair, newer Frostbite games aren’t that bad either, BF6 better than most modern games, but it still feels like it has barely advanced anywhere and it’s still notably heavier than BF1 for example.
>>
>>748785880
but that game actually innovated unlike cryshit 3
>>
>>748786019
what did fear innovate? lol

its a pretty generic bullet time shooter actually

Because he's a grifter. He may make some good points but the dude is doing nothing about it and now that AI is powerful enough and engine alternatives are coming around there's not much of a need for Unreal Engine anymore nor even a reason to really fix it. He says he can't make his game unless unreal fixes all the issues and (you) give him money.

Especially when we have phenomenal base lines like this:
https://www.esotericaengine.com/

Unreal Engine will only ever be popular continuing forward by AAA dog slop studios making the shittiest games ever imagined.
>>
>>748784427
Death Stranding 1 and 2 looks and runs amazing too.
Say what you want about Kojima, but he knows how to pick a good team. He also has the best face scans in the business.

Yeah and Kojima lost the rights to use Decima engine after Sony kicked his ass out. I wonder what he'll switch to.
>>
>>748786462
His only choice is UE unless he wants to blow the budget even more.
>>
>>748783793
Why has this hideous picture of issac shrader been the standard for video game graphics for the last 14 years?
>>
>>748786574
Under microsoft he could use ID Tech which I would reckon would be the best fit. Also they have slipspace (halo infinite engine) as an option. I absolutely do not see him using Unreal.
>>
Nobody ran crysis 3 even remotely close to max settings on a gtx 560 at basically any resolution. Checking techpowerup's database a gtx 650ti is roughly com, parable to a gtx 560 so we can use the vid below a rough guideline.

>>748786914
The problem with those inhouse engines is training his staff on them and the studios that maintain and - importantly - provide tech support for those engines just got annihilated by MS. UE is the only real option because of documentation and support available.

You think ID Tech has no in-house documentation? Kojima's team was helping develop Decima you think he and his team can't figure out the engine? You really think Kojima is going to pick the cheapest out of the box solution? Do you even know Kojima? I seriously doubt they'll be developing physint on Unreal.

Microsoft owns IW Engine (call of duty), ForzaTech, Slipspace, and ID Tech and you think he's going to pick Unreal. Get REAL nigga.

Remember when Prophet died and put the mexican in his suit and then his superior black genes overwrote the guy's weak bean genes and turned him into a real nigga again? I wept and softly whispered "kino" to myself when that shit happened at the end.

You know what I take it back. I didn't realize the nigga was using UE for OD. What a disappointment. I am the one who needs to get real.

lol I'm sure you're right anon but the way I remember it is much funnier to me. I actually quite enjoyed the story of Crysis back then. Pretty good for a tech demo shooter series most remember just for the giraphix

Amazon and the Linux Foundation launched a CryEngine derivative 5 years ago and nobody cared. I don't think a single game has utilized it yet.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend the Horizon and Until Dawn fans. My bad dude you're probably totally right that must be Sony's most expensive engine! Not the Naughty Dog engine the Decima engine; that's their money maker. Retard.
>>
>>748790178
You are seriously underestimate how much games running on the Decima engine were made and how much they sold. Guerilla IS the money maker of the last decade not ND.
