In this day in age, wouldn't Elder Scrolls 6 just be a lame version of Assassin's Creed?
those don't really play alike
>>748972232Does Assassin's Creed force you through 10 loading screens and then require you to collect enough garbage to build a house? The Bethesda that made Skyrim is dead.
Do we think Todd still has it, /v/?
Its gonna be starfield but with cats, lizards, and knife ears.
>>748972232why are your character and horse glowing?
>>748972508If stories from insiders are to be believed, Todd actually didn't have much to do with Starfield. It was way too large to the point where the studio's leadership was mostly middle managed into hell like the rest of Xbox at the time.I'm not gonna completely discount Todd just yet. I don't think you just stop being a competent RPG developer overnight.Assuming he's taking cues from Oblivion and Morrowind and not from Starfield, we should be in for at the very least a good time like with Skyrim.
>>748972592why aren't you
>>748972232The Elder Scrolls has three good games and that is it. I have no faith in modern bethesda.
>>748972508Todd never had it, he's just a hype man
>>748972232If they've got their wits about them, they'd make it more closely resemble Crimson Desert.
>>748972232in this day and age, aren't you just a lame version of your uncle?
>>748973278Crimson Desert is really the closest game to the spirit of Skyrim and Oblivion's worlds in the 2020s.
>>748972508But it was todd's "dream game". The one he spent umpteen years actually wanting to make. If he can't properly manage his team to create something he's passionate about then the blame also lies with him.
>>748972508Yeah that guy is one of the best game developers of our time.
>>748972232Don't care i just want to mod next gen coom mods into tes 6
>>748973557>It was todd's "dream game".That was always cope from bethesdatards. He said once on a forum 25 years ago that he wanted to make a space RPG. This totally means that 20 years later he still has passion for the idea and will pour his heart and soul into it
>>748972232I only want a new Sandbox games, so modders can make an actual game out of it
>>748972486DirectStorage makes loading screens literally half a second, but still offers you complete object and state persistence for all NPCs and things, also allows better and more sophisticated AI to scale without breaking the frame budget. And another benefit is allowing interiors of buildings to be what size you need them to be for gameplay convenience. So basically it also addresses the shit problem of a massive ass world but tiny ass houses because they have to exist in the same seamless instance. BG3 had loading screens yet nobody cared there. You losers keep exaggerating the problem, when Gen 4 SSDs make them so inconsequential.
>>748974176fuck off todd
>>748972746> King is good, it's his vassals who are bad.I'll believe it when Todd goes on record to say he is making TES6 for me (a white man) personally.
>>748973735Bethesda wouldn't have pivoted to Saarfield, a completely new IP with no track record of success, after F4 if Todd didn't WANT to do it. Saying that "oh well todd wasn't trying he's only using 10% of his power" is in of itself cope to excuse his poor management skills and extremely dull imagination.
>>748974356Keep coping, you will be first in line to buy it.
>>748974584I think Todd was swayed by the relative success of No Man's Sky which to this day has thousands of active players (unless we dismiss those as bots) and perhaps also Star Citizen.Well, it turned out that women and minorities is where the gamers draw the line. The memes were true.
>>748974769I won't buy any of your games ever again after the shitshow that was Skyrim on the PS3.
>>748974176the "people" complaining about loading screens do so because they saw on youtube that loading screens are now bad and because they saw others complain about themno one cared about loading screens before starfieldand if you haven't noticed, shitting on bethesda is very in vogue currently, so if you don't actually have anything to complain about or if you don't even play video games you can just make shit up
>>748975283>shitting on bethesda is very in vogue currentlygee I wonder why that is
>>748972508The question is does anyone actually have the motivation to make a good game or do they all just want their paycheck.
>>748972508Nope not a chance
>>748972232it probably wont even be moddable oblivion remastered shipped without creation kit lol
>>748975158>21 miliion views on a 30 second video that shows a logo and absolutely nothing elseKeep coping, buddy. See you at launch night.
>>748972508He never had it. He's never made a good game.Bethesda is the biggest lie in the history of videogames.
>>748972232It would be fantasy Starfield.
>>748975524Well I think at this point its less about a paycheck and more about keeping their studio open and their people with jobs. Xbox will nuke them down to single digits or just property rights if they cannot deliver a solid ES or Fallout in the next 5 years. They already missed a huge potential by having nothing for that hit Fallout TV show. They shouldve had *something* by the team season 2 rolled around.
>>748975606it was literally ue5 hybrid sloppa, obviously it was going to need extra work to get mod tools up to par
>>748975487Video essays from people with very little knowledge of what they're talking about
>>748975524Studios these days are overwhelmingly homos, foids and brown. I'm not even joking when I say that the average day in the studio is those categories talking about their feefees and how they must support troon rights, and any dev who tries to talk about the game will be told they're being insensitive and that while a game can wait, social justice cannot. See picrel's example of the discord server preferring to congratulate the "egg" rather than discuss lore, this is the kind of people you'll find in studios. So if you don't like this nonsense, you shut the fuck up and let the boat sink because they would throw you overboard if you tried to plug the hole anyway.
>>748975283Oblivion was made fun of their loading screens back in 2006. In those days, it loaded as you walked across the map, entered a city, and entered a building. Most dungeons have multiple loading screens. As the technology improved, people expected less loading screens, but Starfield was a slap in the face by adding even more than Oblivion.
>>748975716They delayed ES6 to indefinite/+a few years to make it a launch title for the next Xbox. A new console needs a killer app to start it with a bang. They want to position it with insane scale, visuals, and scope of features, details, and so on with the new hardware. FSR diamond, imperceptibly different 4k, RR path tracing, and so on. They want the BOTW for launch Switch magic.
>>748975906>starts off by insisting trannies don't live in anyones head rent free>proceeds to rage write pages of pure seethe
>>748975637I WILL NOT BUY YOUR GAME, TODD!!!ᵐᵃʸᵇᵉ ᵃᶠᵗᵉʳ ᵃ ᶠᵉʷ ʸᵉᵃʳˢ ʷʰᵉn ᶦᵗ'ˢ ʰᵉᵃᵛᶦˡʸ ᵈᶦˢᶜᵒᵘnᵗᵉᵈ
>>748975283crimson desert is proof that not having loading screens doesnt mean shit. nothing is permanent, things reset or disappear right in front of your face, ai doesn't matter, if you accidentally left something, its gone in the blink of an eye. there are many enterable homes, but they're all puny and cramped, yet are also meaningless and contain nothing.
>>748975897Show me on the doll where the YT essays touched you todd
>>748976432>random seethepost your yt essay so we can critique it
>>748972508>>748972746>I'm not gonna completely discount Todd just yet. I don't think you just stop being a competent RPG developer overnight.Reminder Bethesda games only got worse as Todd got more involved. He had very little role in the actually good TES games (Daggerfall, Morrowind)
>>748976432how about you show us on the doll where todd touched you
>>748977742Even Kirkbride always tells people that Todd was heavily involved in Morrowind and the project would have never been completed without him.
>>748977742>daggerfallplease stop being a retarded contrarian just for the sake of being one
>fallout 3 was jank but had great atmosphere>skyrim was jank and not very deep but can be enjoyed forever>fallout 4 was "next gen" but still stuck with bethesda jank and bad storytelling>fallout 76 was jank + online lag>starfield was a mistake>skyrim 2 teaser trailer was 8 years agotodd and his team are washed up and need to go
>>748972746starfield was his dream game, he absolutely had much to do with it. I think the issue is todd can be easily swayed by those below him into dumbing things down like gutting the fuel system cuz some people thought it was boring, he thinks he can add by subtracting. But i will agree that it seemed that starfield bethesda was a very mismanaged company.
>>748977974Right here. By boring me to tears with his shitty space game.
>>748978262Most of his old team already left for various reasons or was pressured to leave once MS bought them out.
>>748978340starfield is like starsector but if the devs were afraid to say anything or make anything interesting, or difficult.
>>748972508the only time Todd had anything is during development of Morrowind and that's still mostly merit of his dev team
>>748972232YOu give Bethesda too much credit, it's going to be a lame version of Skyrim. Somehow worse than a game a decade and a half old and with zero innovation, like Starfield."Like Assassin's Creed", despite how it'd be bad, would imply that Bethesda would even try to make anything remotely different.
>>748972232Is there a reason forests in video games are never dense? You can always see through them
>>748977742utter fucking retard
>>748972508Despite their BS the last 10+ years, I actually think so. Especially now that Asha is running quality control and is making Todd report to her. We'll get less content from the firings, but higher quality content no doubt. And, for as much shit as Starfield got, if you remove the procgen (Todd already confirmed that it's being made like a traditional TES game), tweak/improve its systems and transfer it onto Skyrim, then add a sailing feature, it's pretty much guaranteed to be at the very least good. Also to note, is that they have a team much larger than the team they had on Morrowind+Oblivion+Skyrim combined, even if we account for the firings.
>>748977742Seeing Bruce Nesmith's name in the Daggerfall credits is like seeing the villain in the background of season 1
>>748980107its crazy how 1 interview basically tanked any goodwill towards bruce nesmith. He admitted to being grima wormtongue basically
>>748972746Yep. Pagliarulo Design Director/Lead Designer for Starfield and thus had the most influence in it's process, especially as Todd continued to dilute his time on other side projects. But the entire process was bogged down with confusing and alienating administrative layers. Quite a few of the oldheads mentioned this. That's why Asha's announcement that she's going in and cutting down those administrative layers from bogged down companies spells good news for Bethesda and the development of TES -- or at least it's one of a few reasons why TESVI is going to succeed.
>>748978859>it's going to be worse than Skyrimkek no chance + will only be true for nostalgiafaggot Zoomers and young Millenials
>>748972508You have to be genuinely challenged to still expect anything decent out of bethesda when they havent made a great game in 20 years
>>748972232You don't understandPutting one thousand cheese wheels in a pile in someone's house is absolutely key to the enjoyment of a game.
does anyone know who the director is going to be for TES6? I know Kurt Kuhlmann claimed he was promised it and then was passed over, but who was he passed over for?
>>748980434Morrowboomer detectedThey didn't block 4chan in the retirement home, I take it?
>>748972232All I need is a game that puts a sword in my hand and points me to a dungeon full of bandits
>>748980514Nope, lips are shut tight. I'm surprised there haven't been any credible leaks this entire development cycle.
>>748980578That's good because it'll be essentially that but with boats and deep sea exploration.
>>748975283no its because bethesda had like 5 loading screens in between you going to other planets. There is literally no reason it had to be as bad as it was other than shitty game design>walk to ship>interface with computer>select different planet to travel to>game shows cutscene of you going into ship and taking off as its loading other planet>you spawn in on another planetthats how it would be if the devs werent retarded. instead its>walk to ship>need to go into ship LOADING SCREEN>walk to cockpit>tell ship to take offLOADING SCREEN>you are in space>go to menu, select planet>LOADING SCREEN>bruh u liek only hate on loadan screen cause a youtube man told youfuck off retard
>>748972575lazy low IQ take
>>748980514Alan Nanes and Kurt himself was one of the people who confirmed it.
>>748980763>thats how it would be if the devs werent retardedThat's how it works if you're near your ship and been there already, the game stop you if you have contraband to roll the evasion roll or if you never been there, so space niggers can sodomize you if your ship isn't strong enough.Yes you don't even need to enter your ship, you would know this if you actually played the game instead watching meme tiktoks about it.
>>748972508you'd think starfield was enough proof
>>748981858Space sim boomers who are autistically obsessed with properly simulating the use of ships are the ones raging about loading screens. They want to walk to their ships, drop the ramp and seamlessly enter, walk to the cockpit, watch 15 minutes of launch sequence animations and then see the full takeoff.
>>748981451oh he was the lead designer for nuka-world and the skyrim theives guild...why the fuck would you pick him he sucks
>>748974459You're going to get your non-binary body type 1/2 redguards and you're going to like it
>>748982037There's nobody else left. Will Shen quit, Kurt was fired, Nesmith left because he wanted someone younger to take over. Apart from Nanes and Emil they don't have any serious quest designers, only a few literally who guys who occasionally make some joke side quest.
>>748978985Gameplay wise it’s kinda annoying, but in this case it’s also because Britain’s forests aren’t too thick except for some areas (like the Weald forest in Cent). Also if you want really thick forests try AC Shadows. They were made specifically to be almost impassible.
>>748982161god they really do have no-one left.cant wait for the swordborn to be forced to sell his soul to a daedric prince in every single faction quest, with no option not to do that.
