Yes, you can buy multiple copies of an Aircraft at the Aircraft Tree at a reduced cost. I remember getting the F-22, which was like 550,000 credits, but then to buy another F-22 was something like 48,000 credits

Yeah you can buy multiples, though buying extras is only a fraction of the initial cost.

They would, because there wouldn't have been any proof remaining. Even during the next mission, news sources were just repeating EO talking points until the stream happens.

>extremely lame tunnel run, very short and the megafloat was way too small for being hyped up the entire game
>the mission that has the tunnel run in it is also a bombing mission, making me tunnel run with an A-10 is extremely anticlimactic
>the entire game teases the Tonitrus spear but we never get anything cool like us going to space to shoot it or anything
>mention Stonehenge, a weapon specifically meant to shoot down stuff in low orbit, but don't use it against the Tonitrus satellite
>instead we need more copies of Air Combat's final boss over and over again
>the final mission is a worse version of the Hrinfaxi fight from 5 where we just babysit the Endurance, with no enemy chatter or Aces
>tease an early version of one of General Resource's early craft but only ever give them to dumbed down AI, the Shadows never use them
>the entire ending sequence being about social media was super fucking gay

I could go on but I have a lot of autistic nitpicks about the game. It has amazing visuals, music, and some fun characters and it did mostly everything right, but it can't beat 4, 5, or 0 for me.

Is there any other gaming franchise that gets away with so much recycling of old material? Almost every mainline AC game has:

>tunnel run
>canyon/ravine run where you have to navigate a narrow area while staying below the radar
>escort mission
>giant flying fortress super plane bossfight
>a mission where you have to dodge big circles on the map (either a superweapon firing at you or radar detection zones)
>amphibious landing / beach assault mission
>ground superweapon raid (stonehenge, megalith, excalibur, chandelier, etc.)
>stop the missile/wmd launch!
>oh no, the missiles/wmd have launced anyway, now you have to shoot them down!
>defend your current base / intercept incoming bombers
>liberate the capital city
>gigantic battlefield / score attack mission where you can resupply
>final ace / prototype duel

Are the devs lazy and just tick off a checklist for every game or is this all that you can do with this genre? I'm not a developer but I'm sure I could come up with at least some new mission concepts if someone paid me to. I guess never change a running system. At this point, the majority of the fanbase probably expects these missions and will be disappointed if some of them were missing.

I think in general they're just letting Joker move into becoming a legend over keeping the squad active. It's why Kate and likely Rex got shuffled into a King squad which is likely still tied to the Endurance. Most of the protagonists seem to stop after their war, aside from Mobius, so maybe Rex was fine with just being the guy in the backseat. Dude is probably banging Kate so he won.

Kino game, excellent entry in the AC series, basically AC7 but almost everything is better. Downsides: The whole sequence after hitting the ground with Baxter is dogshit, and I don't even mean the mission itself, but the embarrassing Press X to hide garbage. Speaking of that, all of that should not be in the game, it serves no purpose. Also, no proper tunnel run is a big disappointment, and the game should've had at least one vastly different enemy squadron than just Shadows forever. The writers also apparently forgot that Coster exists halfway through.

Yeah, they kind of missed the point of PW's system. There, if you take something like 4AAM on both slots it doubles up and you get 8AAM.

Good. AC3 is extremely overhyped. The multiple routes make it a chore to play and they all end basically the same way and the plot isn't that good and all the characters are flat. The coolest parts of it are the vibe with the art and music and I'd rather they make a new game/story with similar vibes whole incorporating what the new games do so well.

Great. AC3 could definitely use a remake, it's one of the most niche mainline entries, partly due to the fan translation barrier (if you want experience the original story), the abysmal pacing and it being a PS1 game that looks and plays pretty shitty, unless you're into that shit.

I think people are looking too far into it. I think it was just both of them wanting to pay their respects to cope, as it's somewhat implied she was close-ish to cope and could only finagle 1 plane out of rotation for a personal flight.
That and you riding wso ties it up in a nice bow from the starting point and lets them do the cinematic stuff going on around you without the player nosediving for shits and giggles.

They nailed the scenarios and overall design of a fighter jet game really early on in the series. That's not a bad thing, and they shouldn't throw shit at the wall to see what sticks just for the sake of changing it up. That has killed so many other series, while Ace Combat is only getting bigger.

I wish Ace Combat moved into space at one point. I can't just play old games like Starlancer over and over for the rest of my life whenever I get that space dogfighting itch. Starlancer especially has a lot in common with AC, down to the mission briefings, ship/loadout selection, comms chatter and story beats. Plus, you can talk shit to enemies over the radio which acts as a taunt mechanic to get them off ships or stations that you are defending.

Kind of a hidden gem in my opinion that got massively overshadowed by Freelancer which it often gets confused with.
