I'm playing through Growlanser 3 right now.
It's "supposed" to be a prequel of Growlanser 1 but it feels like the writer was told to write a prequel and then just wrote their own story they wanted to write while adding small things here and there.
One important event happens related to G1 which was done with as little fanfare as possible and set up the villains of this game. Pretty much everything so far is completely unrelated.
Still enjoying the game though I'm looking forward to playing more games in this series.

Been playing a lot of Battle Brothers. Its hitting all the notes of what I would want in a game about role playing as a mercenary company.
The only problem I have with the game is that its a fantasy setting but all the fantastical elements are just the stuff you kill. You only play as humans, and you never get to use magic. No option to play as a necromancer with a legion of undead, no option to be a witch that can recruit monsters and enthralled minions, no option to play as Orcs murdering and raping villages while building your strength. Its like you play as the protagonists of a low fantasy book stuck fighting high fantasy enemies. I feel like having the ability to play as various monsters would open up a bunch of cool playstyles.
That being said it still amazing for what it is.

Playing SPRAWL, fun game so far, it's sort of a mix of boomer shooter + mirrors edge + titanfall. A prequel just released called SPRAWL zero and I hear that one is extremely good, sort of a HalfLife-like and I'm excited to play that one, but I wanted to complete the original game first.

Been playing a ton of Deadlock both before and after the new update, really satisfied with most of the changes in the patch. Bouncing around a couple old and new fighting games, mostly Avatar Legends and RoA2, but I'm not able to feel the competitive spark that I usually have for the genre right now. I did a lot of courrier jobs to rack up enough cash to buy a cobra so I could do better things than look at pretty screensavers.
Throttle still getting progressively lowered even with flight assist off the closer I get to a target in supercruise pisses me off. Devs are faggots. If I want to overshot let me overshot. It's my problem.
Speed's also relative to the target's distance, won't raise as fast if I'm going for a target 200.000lys away. No, there's no gigantic bodies around explaining that. The devs are, again, faggots who love to make sure that nothing exciting or fun can happen. Enjoy your loading screens.

It's also probably the most fair one I've ever played. RNG doesn't fuck you, it merely changes your angle of attack on the fly. Unlike other games where avoiding combat(a conventional wisdom for survival) is the same as making sure you're increasingly too weak/underleveled, your strength economy goes no further than what you pick up and use until it breaks. In Cogmind, you don't gain levels or skills in combat, just more parts that you can also find laying around.

Sound is important. EVERY machine makes a unique noise, and once you learn them, you'll understand things like "Oh fuck I'm being chased by a death squad, but also oh fuck there's a nuclear reactor in that room between us. Oh look at that, they're way closer to it than me. What would happen if I fired two rocket launchers, one to take out the wall and one to hit the reactor?"

There are tons of alternate paths through the game, with additional danger but additional benefits if you go through extra side-areas.

Multiple factions you can potentially find and align with which offer all sorts of benefits or affect how or if you achieve certain endings.

Lots different machines you can hack for different stuff. Also methods exist for hacking the enemies.

Ive been playing Yo-Kai Watch Blasters ++ almost exclusively for the last few weeks. It's a great mod. If you like YKW Blasters I highly recommend it.

playing elden ring dlc

You just described all barracks in KR games. At least Forest Keepers have a niche uses, even if it's parking them behind bladesingers to heal them and throw true damage spears. For the most part yeah. It's a lot lighter on respawning enemies from what I've seen. So far it seems like they only respawn if you leave a section and come back to it later rather than having floor elevators shit them out every 10 minutes (granted I'm playing on normal and I'm not sure if the difficulty affects the enemy respawn rate). Some of the weapons feel a bit weak but that might change once I access to weapon upgrades. Flaregun's definitely an exception to that though. It's completely ineffective against robots of course but it absolute rapes the shit out of organic enemies.

I just finished Dawnwalker and really enjoyed it. I didn't know anything about it other than the headline that people were big mad about the time limit and were modding it out. I thought the time limit added a lot to my playthrough. It gave a sense of urgency to the main story that RPGs usually lack. It was cool to see the moon change as the deadline got closer too. I got nervous a couple times, but 30 days was really generous. I ended up with almost a week left after I had all the boyars, quests, and legendaries wrapped up. I poked around the map for a couple days and then got bored, so I killed Brencis a little early on day 27(+1). Good sequel hook too. I'll play the next one.

I'm finally playing Divinity 2. Not original sin but the one from like 2005

Also playing Berserk and the Band of the Hawk and it's OK. One of those games where it's all been done before but what it does is at least serviceable, and the back half has been better than the front. Extraction shooter too so game just feels frustrating to play when you're given the impression the game is actively trying to screw you over. all the games I bet this year, currently playing the silent hill 2 remake.
never played a silent hill game before and idk if im liking it, atmosphere is good but it feels like a lot of busy work just going a-b but the puzzles are way better than resident evil

have put 200 hours into dwarf fortress over the last few weeks - with minimal wiki and youtube guide usage

used some dfhack commands and savescumming to learn particular things about lava , water, and through trial and error more quickly

i can build a mostly self sustaining fort at this point, biggest hurdle is trying to keep the most important stuff automated without suffocating the production line

trying to master the art turtlemax before i unleash the clown car in my most recent fort. would rather not totally cheese the encounter. thinking about airlock systems with bridges, in the hopes to send waves of waves of dorfs into battle against those pesky clowns...
