This is replying to the Rapist Man full take from last thread. It's insane to think it's considered far from finished, it sounds fantastic already, just brilliant. 1 nitpicky note, the lyric for the pope line is "shot" to match the tense of the other lines, but is being sung "shoot" in the take. If it's intentional for the consonant sound perhaps I might suggest just adding a quick soft s for "shoots" instead, that can work for the tense too. The names and everything else all work perfectly, and it sounds amazing.

lowering the volume of the 1:12~ section and adding light reverb to both of the backing bits probably gets them to a pretty good spot.

The linked zip contains the movie audio in 7.1, and all the 7.1 tracks separated into mono files. The file names tell you how to pan, _L for left, _C for centre etc. _LFE is just for subwoofers so if you're not mixing for surround you can delete it. Annoyingly they mixed vocals into every channel so you'll have to UVR them all.

The silence could be removed, but it would be better used for jokes, if anyone has some good ideas.

So I took great offense to 0 sung Sneed songs this late into the year, there's 1 open on the sheet but I can see it's probably not a type of song most singfags can force their throats to handle, so I took it upon myself to add a new option. I wanted a slightly new angle, so I went in with the mindset of "what if the reason the sign even mentions Chuck is that Sneed was gay for him and was trying to honor his legacy with the sign's mention of him". I'm actually shocked at how good our progress is now that I take a closer look at it. Last year was our 2nd highest year in total songs done, keep that in mind. I do sheet backups, and have one from last year Oct 6th early morning, so like 15 hours from now. Here's some screenshots of that finished and editing tab, take a glance.

Now the current sheet we have this year, which is a little earlier?

Total: 71

Now keep in mind it's rough numbers, we don't know how many songs people are holding quietly onto, how many have demos but not in the editing pile, how many finished songs aren't listed but did exist, ect. Still, we actually have MORE songs, and more importantly, we're not stockpiling anywhere near as many things to edit which will help a lot since the deadline for the stream is going to be even stricter this year. I'm sure there are other factors, like we totally have more short cartoon songs this year, but still, this is fast progress!

Story time. Skip to the last paragraph if you don't want the context.
We started as a project where people wrote, sang, and edited pretty sloppy for fun. Quality went up and eventually we even got a dedicated "editfag" who specialized in really good editing. This meant people that didn't know how to edit didn't tend to learn, they just put it on the sheet for editfag or similar to edit for them.
Then in recent years, editfag has been less able to do as many edits for us. But a lot of people still didn't know how to edit. But we still need to edit the songs in time for the album and stream, because why would we waste sung songs?
This is where the Editor's Special comes in. It's the name for a rushed, shitty edit of a song done due to necessity because we are well past our time limit but the songs are not edited yet. They are generally just the vocals slapped lazily on the instrumental, maybe a little reverb is applied if you're lucky. There won't be time for harmonies, or editing to improve the way the vocals sound, and hell sometimes the instrumental ends up fucked up and missing instruments because there's no time to double check that sort of thing, it's packed up and shipped as is. We want to avoid these at all costs, hence the cat image as a scare tactic to remind people "edit the songs, or this smug fucking cat will".

Another aspect of the Editor's Special I rarely see brought up: we extended the deadline slightly for editing, but we still NEED the vocals to be done and posted before the deadline or it's banned.

If an editor edits your song on Oct 14th and notices you forgot to sing a line, they can post in the thread, you can see it and go "oh shit, I'll record a take of that line this minute", then they put it in the song.

If an editor edits your song on Oct 16th and notices you forgot to sing a line, it's too late. The song is now missing that line forever if it's not pulled from the albums.

This is a really strong reason for people that know how to edit to try and do what they can early, because it has to get done either way, and we have far more power if it's done on time.

Thank, anon. I think my main problem is that it's a lot shorter and simpler than the other DHMIS songs, so there's less room to be flexible with the lyrics, but I do want to change more of the lyrics, I feel I've left a bit too much intact, most especially the first few spoken parts.
