I use Astra on Max and Opus 5.5 and the code their produce, while functional, is filled with tons of boilerplate and dumb decisions (like hardcoding debug controls in an addon I'm making instead of separating it by demos, or creating dumb unit tests for small changes). If this is the top of the line AI code generator, I cannot imagine the kind of garbage people were making with lesser models.
But granted, they are specially useful for brainstorming, they have more broad knowledge so they help me consider avenues I've never thought of. The meta here is to let AI create a roadmap for your project and see if it makes sense, and keep polishing it until it has all you wanted with milestones and deliverables. I have a roadmap for a game, is basically Eternal Darkness but as an open-world RPG.
