360 used to have a niche audience in Japan but it's long since abandoned the market.

Hilarious. /v/ told me it was trannies and women that made Xbox "woke" and not grey-haired boomers who are constantly censoring everything and pushing for online IDs. /v/ is wrong AGAIN.

Trannies love anime this was always a shit argument.
>>
>>749376803
xbox was a boys club back then. right wingers hated anime because they thought that it was stupid and gay, they preferred to play "mature" gun and ball games like gaylo and maddenfifa. they preferred edgy ironic adult swim stoner cartoons and looney toons over anime

anime used to be a space filled with liberals, leftists, and libertarians.
>>
>>749378515
Essentially everything on /v/ is a shit argument. The retards here get their news coverage from Xitter brainrot memes.
>>
>>749378571
Anon it's not 2007 anymore. The right wing are all anime loving troons.

This thread reads like you want anime to become even more mainstream than it already is.
>>
>>749378710
bro it's not possible for anime to become more main stream and normie centric.
>>
Wow! An Xbox censorship thread after the Steam censorship thread saged >>749338958. I was able to create some very in-depth replies in that thread because I know a lot about the censorship by Valve, Nintendo (of America/Europe), Sony, Google, and Apple. However, I barely get to talk about Xbox/Microsoft's censorship (pic related) because they have been irrelevant for Japanese games since they censored Gal*Gun on the Xbox 360 and then banned its remake for Xbox One.

Anyway, the idea of Xbox's content restrictions being only because of "one man" is laughable. Unless that one man is Epstein-associate Bill Gates himself.
For example, there was a time when Microsoft censored a Dead or Alive body pillow because of the company "values" after Wired published information about the body pillow in "Getting in Bed with the Customer".
https://www.timeextension.com/features/flashback-how-a-dead-or-alive-love-pillow-gave-xbox-a-pr-headache
>After the piece had been published, Fischer's phone rang. "I get a call from Redmond, and it's the interim head of Xbox Japan
>he says, 'Oh, we've got a PR problem. We also have an HR problem. We have employees writing directly to Bill Gates saying this does not match the values of the company.'
>Fischer's first reaction was panic, and he told his staff in Japan to cancel the pillow.
*Itagaki complained. (See the article)
>Fischer was painfully aware that he had placed his superior at Microsoft, Robbie Bach, "in a tough situation. This was going [all the way] to Bill [Gates]. [Robbie] was very focused on protecting Microsoft's values and integrity, and he wasn't happy about the situation. Finally, he goes, 'I guess we're either in the games business or we're not. You put some more clothes on her; I'll take the heat on this side.'"

There's also pic related. Microsoft is compliant to Anti-Fiction activism that's on par with the American Comic Code Authroity of the 1950s.
https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/games/resources/productinclusion/product-inclusion-actions/help-customers-feel-seen/
>Are you reinforcing any negative gender stereotypes?
>Are your female characters equipped with clothing and armor that fits their tasks? Do they have exaggerated body proportions?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comics_Code_Authority
> Females shall be drawn realistically without exaggeration of any physical qualities.
> Nudity in any form is prohibited, as is indecent or undue exposure.

Admittedly, in pic related, Microsoft is just making suggestions whereas the Comic Code Authority actually banned the content listed. However, as evident in my previous post, Microsoft has censored Japanese games and restricted Japanese fictional expression. What is shared between Microsoft and the Comic Code Authority is the puritan scapegoating of fictional expression for real-life harm. For Microsoft, they believe fiction is responsible for enforcing negative gender stereotypes. Incidentally, Anita Sakreesian was the modern, gaming equivalent of Fredric Wertham. Both caused immense censorship (expurgation and prior restraint) of fictional expression.

>>749378081
Dunning-kruger. A more accurate analysis is that the company owners are compliant to activists. Since social media was created, this actvism has become online cancel culture. Sadly, cancel culture has targeted fictional expression rather than just nonfictional stuff.

A business restructuring is different from regulating art. Any regulation on art must inherently be compliant to activists. Censored fiction sells just as much as uncensored fiction, so there is little economic incentive to deregulate art when a company is an enormous publisher or platform. Instead, they freely allow internal activists to do whatever, and compliant employees comply with both internal & external activists. Additionally, American Anti-Fiction activists are more empowered than American Pro-Labor actvists. Anti-Fiction actvism historically won in the United States, and it has won with social media in the modern era.

Transbians love cuteness. Really, straight women and gay men create problems because they despise the male gaze. Bi women, transbians, and straight men love the male gaze. Lesbian women are a toss up. Then again, straight women and gay men can be tolerant toward the male gaze, so they don't always create problems.

Social media creates an endless, anti-reality (culture) war where neither side can ever win. Every time you see your side and think you are winning, the other side sees the opposite and thinks they are winning. Fiction production struggles in this environment because companies fall victim to online cancel culture from both sides. To quote Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid 4 (now available on Xbox), "When the battlefield is under total control, (culture) war becomes routine."
