>Playing from the perspective of a pro car propagandist >None of the pro car propaganda you can spread relates to the danger of the homeless/drug addicts on public transport despite that being the #1 reason people prefer cars to itInteresting. Even in their own fantasy mocking their opponents, they cannot do that bit.

>>749432307It's probably more effective to dump some keys to people to market your game. There's even websites where you get paid for doing that.
>>749432307what do cars have to do with migration and policing policy?
Is there a city planning game about dealing with the homeless drug addicts aggressively shouting in public in every major city?
>>749432945l4d
>>749432307artstyle is cool but the game is basically a meme. theres very little actual gameplay. was hoping th is would be an actual simulator with unique gameplay.not worth spending money on
>>749432945>every major cityTry every city ever.
>>749432307You can rest easy knowing that the creator likely spent years to make this and ended up burning much more money than this will make back. Although, shouldn't the creator like this if they value labor so much more than capital.
>being anti-car but pro-nigger>wanting walkable cities but wanting them to also be dangerous shitholesmake it make sense to me
>>749433897"some of you may die but it's sacrifice I'm willing to make"
The steam forum for this game doesn't have this europe vs american fuck cars culture wars like /v/ does, why is 4chan so political?
>>749433757I was shocked when I moved back to my mostly suburban area and even there, there are homeless people with dogs who panhandle and shout at you.
>>749433897>>749433968There's a segment of leftism that is simply oppositional defiance disorder, they want things dirty and ugly because their parents made them clean their room 20 years ago.

I don't get why he couldn't have just made a Theme style game without the retarded snide political commentary in it. Theme Hospital just has goofy gags in it like curing someone with a swollen head by popping it with a balloon, it doesn't have snarky comments about the US healthcare system or whatever.
>>749433897>I need a car to do anything at allI genuinely can't imagine being a buck broken American
>>749434262>it doesn't have snarky comments about the US healthcare system or whatever. Two Point Hospital does, but you can also actually make a functional hospital that helps people in spite of it. Here there is one win condition: make people reliant on cars, have loads of pollution, and use the government to silence dissent. There is no "happy middle ground" which is what we actually have. If you want to move to a city where there's no car usage, you can pick up and move.
>>749434402Certified /r/fuckcars moment
>game foregoes most of its sim elements to preach about r/fuckcarsWhy bother buying the microprose name and ape the RCT style just to make such a basic bitch game crying about cars that you couldn't even properly program to drive on roads....
>>749434402I can't imagine trying to walk down to the shoe cobbler next to the tea and chippy shoppe and getting culturally enriched by Achmed either so I guess we are even.
>>749433897>wanting walkable cities but wanting them to also be dangerous shitholesLook into New Urbanism, it's basically white people going "why can't we have cities but just white people are allowed?" And even then it just turns into a corny parody of a city, because the only walkable environments encounter are college campuses and amusement parks. That's what it ends up feeling like.
>>749434402A car means the state can't decide how you move, when, and where. As long as you have one you'll never be a slave.
IDK where u live OP but taking public transit is always better in black-adjacent areas because if you drive and park it outside they'll just break into your car and steal your shit. And homeless bums will run onto the street without any notice too either panhandling or trying to do some insurance fraud bullshit and they WILL block your car. Another great thing about driving is all of the fucking retards swerving through traffic in plateless cars who WILL just drive off if they hit you, half of whom do not speak English and the other half of whom are gangster wannabes looking for any reason to start a confrontation. You people can't handle the truth!
>>749434449>happy middle>which is what we have nowI am like 89% sure the people making this game unironically think we are living on the broken extreme end of the horseshoe, like when people try to say America is so racist it's a borderline apartheid state

>>749434731Ask the leftists who group together multiple different attitudes to different areas of policy that harm each other.
My question is: How deep is the game in these areas:1. BusinessDo you need to plan anything? Do you need to think strategically to win? Do you have to consider things like not growing too fast, not building too much, not acquiring too much land because of taxes, etc.?2. CustomizationHow customizable is the game? Can I create unique things like in Rollercoaster Tycoon? Can I put up signs with the phrases I want and rename things? Do the maps take on my "personality" after I create them?3. MechanicsAre the game’s mechanics complex? Will different elements interact and generate interesting outcomes? Can unique things emerge if I decide to do things in an unconventional way?
>>749434402>he thinks he can live as an adult without a carmove out of your mother basement you fucking retard
>>749434707I looked up this town specifically and there's no arts or culture, it's just bars and places to get coffee. Again, because the only experience Americans have with walkable places they aren't afraid of are amusement parks. They had to stop themselves from building bumper cars I'd bet.
>>749434632>state can't decide how you move, when, and whereDriving is a humiliation ritualEveryone drives 35mph in a 25pmh road, so technically anyone can get pulled over by a cop at any timeLicense plates and driver's licenses are tracked everywhere If you get on a bus with cash, it's much harder to track your location

I love how every racist argument is always a confession that you are physically intimidated by brown men lol, so fucking weak and pathetic
>>749434051Cars unironically did this. You can bus the drug addicts out of the cities and into outlying neighborhoods now. The homeless of the semi-rural and suburban areas used to be self-reliant in the same way mountain men were. Hobos eating cans of baked beans cooked over a campfire in the gravel pit do not exist anymore.
Did this game nerf rent yet? I know in the private play test you could just buy every square of land and charge rent, and pretty quickly get infinite money
>>749432307>it's in the style of RCT2 but you can't do anything nearly as creative as building a rollercoaster or themeing your areasthen why bother?

>>749434731You basically become cattle without a way to independently move yourself. At any moment they could hike the price of public transportation, bar you from it, dismantle it, etc. Roads will always be present in a society and cars can go off it if they really needed to. The simple ability to drive yourself whenever you want means you can quickly get anywhere connected to the same network. Walkable cities, other than going counter to aforementioned values, also make a city smaller. They encourage people to live in unowned blocks and walk around everywhere. They also let things like pavement apes that can't drive reach into every place you could ever go. It is like a form of radical equitarian city policy and is as destructive long term. It is like asking what being hobbled has to do with living with an abusive person. Public transportation only works in an extremely high trust society like Japan where the government is too afraid of disrupting social cohesion to screw people over.
>>749435291>everyone before Henry Ford was cattleebin
>>749432307Chicken and egg type problem. The car dependent society was in full swing by the early 1970s, long before there were problems with drug addicts and homeless in public transport. That car dependence left public transport underfunded and most wealthier people no longer using it which THEN attracted homeless and drug addicts, especially since public transport now only remained in the poorest neighborhoods.Best seen in countries were there is still a lot of reliance of public transport: if a lot of regular people use it, then druggies and homeless won't really be much of a problem in it. Essentially if a lot of regular people use it, then undesirables don't feel attracted to it, only after it has been abandoned by politics do the homeless and drug addicts appear. It's a supply/demand problem. The demand is a demand for mobility, which was construed to a demand for cars, which is NOT the same. A demand for cheap transport can also be met with public transport and bikes, it depends on the individual. Because only cars are now an option to meet the demand for transport, the supply doesn't REALLY meet the demand, which is why the price for the demand of transport just keeps climbing and climbing. (Look at how the average price for new cars has exploded, or the prices of ticket fares. Or the prices for toll roads). It also affects housing prices because roads being clogged by space inefficient cars makes housing close to where you work FAR more valuable. The smoother the traffic the less of a requirement to live close to work. Public transport and bike friendliness makes traffic smoother and thus reduces housing costs.

>>749432307The only reason public transport is associated with the homeless is that our public transport systems have been gutted in favor of cars. So only the desperate will still use them.In countries with good public transport they don't have this problem. Everyone uses it, so the trains are full of normies, creating safety in numbers.
