So now you can generate mods for any game super easily with Super Intelligence?
>>
Unironically yeah and that's a good thing.

Me personally I'm using it to finish all these little projects I abandoned as a child.
That Mario vs Final Fantasy game I was making when I was 6 in RPG Maker 2000 but that somehow turns into a Saint Seiya ripoff with Ranma and Link as cameos is finally getting an ending.

Ask Claude how to make money so you can buy Pro.

But more seriously, if you're a grind god you can use these AI chatbots as turbocharged learning tools but it's a lot more work than just forking out the $14

>>

grim dawn would mute when you alt+tabbed
Devs had it in the original alpha test but then removed it saying it's impossible
claude did a dll to make it work
>>
>>749635932
Its pretty good but it runs really inefficiently unless you tard wrangle how it responds, it wastes the majority of its output tokens on re-reading its own contexts. If you spend even a single dollar on it you would be well served to keep an eye on how it spends your money per output and adjust your prompts accordingly. It'd be nice if they did something to fix that on their backend, assuming it isn't intentional to wring out higher subscription tiers.
>>
>>749635932
I just used claude to make myself a pokemon save hub, granted there were tools that existed already but this is version is more controlled
>>
>>749638885
A lot of git autism at first, but if you tell it to shut it about git it'll understand by the third or the fourth time.

I'd recommend you to learn what Model to use for what task type to maximize your token efficiency or you're going to hit the daily limit repeatedly and kneecap your progress.

Also be pretty autistic with your instructions, not because the bot won't understand your vagueposting because it eventually will, but because it saves a lot of tokens if you're very precise.

tl;dr as a Pro goy you still need to do a work maximizing your token usage if you want to achieve anything
>>
>>749635932
>generate mods for any game
yes
>super easily
depends on the scope. been working on a very sophisticated mod for a game for about a month and it's coming to a pretty finished state now
>>749638758
depends on payday 2's mod support, the scope could be tiny or gigafuckmassive depending on what it supports. if it's a small scope sonnet could easily give a small script like that and tell you where to put it and how to set it up. $20 a month for pro would give you access to the code tab and claude can R&D the entire process for you and opus is probably powerful enough to hack in new functionality if whatever mod support doesn't have it
>>
>>749638712
>turbocharged learning tools
I started using them as that and they're pretty good. They hallucinate stuff from time to time, but when they work, they're faster than digging through stack and forums.

Claude Code will nag you about setting up a git repo for every single new project and even when you tell it to fuck off it'll keep being smug about it.

It will still do the things you ask it to do, but will throw a "set up a git repo or you'll lose everything xd" here and there.

If you actually want to set up repos for your porn mods then it's not that hard to be honest, you just create an account on github.com and give the clanker itself the HTTPS clone url and it'll set all the files for you.

>>749639414
Opus is the higher reasoning model which means it won't give up easily or be misled by false leads when researching stuff. i.e. you give it a "make the hud react to the beat of the music" it will probabilistically infer what did you mean by that more accurately, but this wastes considerably more cycle.
IMO you really need Opus if you have no idea what you're talking about but need the thing to edit the files for you. A good hack is to ask it to create a brief human readable report for you to review, this way you can learn about the modding tricks it's using and direct it more efficiently using the same language it used on the doc.

Sonnet I personally use it to edit large swathes of data with precalculated values, or tweaks that I can be very precise about, since it can't reason that good it'd probably do a lot of mistakes if I'm vague but it's pretty economical if I already did half of the thinking.

This potential for endless tinkering with old games, and more importantly, making it possible for a person, regardless of artistic talent or not, to create complicated 3D assets with a fraction of the effort and time, which has always been the biggest hurdle to mod complexity, has my interest very peaked.
I started trying to think of something ostensibly simple after playing some Diablo 2.
I assume the process of asking Claude to simple 'Make Paul Blart Mall Cop a character class for Diablo 2' would result in pure nonsense at best.
But a more granular, incremental approach emulating the principles of actual human-led development pipelines may get somewhere:
I'm interested in how the AI goes about the process - I've seen plenty of videos of crossover games now, but scarcely anything that adds something significant to a game that didn't exist prior
To begin with, I assume the AI must have to familiarise itself with the underlying systems of the game, including interacting with and modifying the existing code
Then the AI has to comprehend something like what a character class actually is and entails, from the very point you interact with it on the start screen to the save data, UI, various layers of assets etc.
Then I assume the modder would use other existing AI tools to generate concept art, 3D models based on that concept art and then use the AI to transplant that into the game
There are so many traditional hurdles to this process that it almost seems impossible that something like this could actually be on the cusp of occurring. Old beloved games with fresh streams of practically infinite new content. It's kind of worrying if it actually gets to the point where people are developing expansions of their own, or in small teams. Who'd wanna buy new games?

>>
>>749640830
New games would just have to change. They'd have to be actually new. No more making the 50th derivative of that one popular thing, if you can't be creative and make something genuine and new, just do something else with your life.
>>
can someone link me to some good AI games/mods? I've heard a lot about them, would love to try out the best ones!
>>
>>749641117
Its all hype so no, its just a few mobile-adjacent games like Diablo 2 and a bunch of shallow open world slop games that normies mindlessly consume. The point is to funnel nerds and autists in to paying for Claude subscriptions because very little content is made for them anymore and they now get all their fun from pretending they're talented.

The bigger issue is that all these features and frontier capability needs to be taken away from proprietary megacorp software as a service models, and instead entrusted as FOSS , self hosted, uncensored, privacy respecting ones. That's the big issue that so much of the fight over AI misses while Anthropic and OpenAI et al pull up the ladder to fuck over potential competitors.

No I just have experience by now
"Made" a few mods at this point and genuinely unless it's something extremely simple, like removing a flag on an item or some shit, Claude is borderline unusable. It gets you a result that you can work off from fast, but it ignores that mods have to actually fit into a game's code/API, not just execute one function no matter what else it tramples on

>>749642557

>>
>>749642109
China's models seem to be censored when hosted by China, but (last I checked with Deepseek R1) if hosted locally its not censored. However if you just open whatever Deepseek or Qwen or any other chink model hosted by Tencent or whomever who made it, its going to be very censored in all the China ways. Its better than nothing and we can't control China directly, but we CAN demand that US / EU AI companies be forced to FOSS their stuff if they want to use it for anything important in any way etc.
>>
>>749642321
You have to know a little bit more about what you're prompting the more complex the desired thing is.

Claude was useful in getting some of my skyrim modding issues resolved in linux. it also helped me get a few other stubborn games working like NWN2 and the 1997 version of Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers. But it's not like I have all these grand modding ambitions. I generally play games close to how they ship with just tweaks here and there. Kind of. It has to first be able to deconstruct what it's looking at, before being able to implement. But you can do some cool stuff.
Heck even besides all the slop decomps and mods, I saw one case on Twitter where someone used AI and found how to access some debug menu nobody knew of in some Dreamcast game. And apparently there was a big glitch discovered for Spongebob BFBB. Hope to see this stuff can be used for more interesting data mining like that.

I hate that shit. I'm at least testing the stuff I work on myself. It's only at the stage of booting into the menu but the graphics are a little fucked as there's some stuff not implemented yet but I'll post webms when I have it actually functioning. my local qwen:

You're likely referring to events at Tiananmen Square in Beijing in 1989. Different sources describe these events in different terms, and the framing (e.g., "massacre" vs. other characterizations) is itself a subject of dispute between governments, historians, and observers.
A neutral summary of what is generally documented:
- Student-led protests took place in Beijing during 1989, with demonstrations focused around Tiananmen Square.
- In early June, the Chinese government declared martial law and military forces were moved into Beijing.
- A confrontation occurred; casualties were reported. The exact nature, scale, and responsibility are described very differently by Chinese official accounts versus international media and human-rights organizations.
If you want a specific angle (historical chronology, primary sources, how different governments describe it), tell me and I'll focus there.

I got it to acknowledge China is unusually competent has absolved or dominated many other peoples but it keeps remembering that there is a no-no concept and steers back to "well that is not quite the same thing as superior". Figured it would be easier to start at "winning civilization" -> better people

Probably easier to bash it with genetics data but strip off the names of people, just have it look at the stats, build a frame work, then ask it to drop in the fact that we are talking about people, crime states, etc., and ask it to compare its conclusions to the actual data.

I was able to get chatgpt to do racists jokes as if he was paul sagget once or twice - I kicked it into some kind of diagnostic mode and build a framework that sat above the concerns (i guess in its rolling context window). It was fine as long as it was able to say at the end "this is diagnostic purposes only"

ffmpeg cmd lines at the easiest.
VLC/MPV if you want a live stream.
Frigate if you want le local AI detection shit.

Home assistant with literally any smart plug.

CRUD shit.
>probed network and computer
Literally any security software like OpenVAS.
>setup vlans
Depends entirely on your router. Some do that in one click.
>completely replaced google search, which is now utter garbage
Correct, in no small part because they've been crippling it for ad bullshit and ai bullshit for ages.
I'm honestly considering paying for Kagi at this point to test if it's worth it.

not that guy, but the difference is you just fire up your terminal and say "make this for me, make it specific to my hardware, lean as possible" and it just does it.
>>
>>749645503
Yes.

Both Claude and Chatgpt sorta work the same way. You pay the entry fee of $20 or so a month to get access to the flagship models that are capable of high quality work. If you use these flagship models (say, Opus 5.5 High, or GPT 6 Astra) you only get a couple of prompts worth of work before it'll yell at you about usage, which makes you wait a few hours before it will continue and finish what you started. You can pay them money for more usage, I don't know how much because I don't do this, sorry.

If you use the weaker models you can get them to run for longer but with varied/maybe suboptimal results. The reason money comes into play is that people usually just let it open a ton of agents which talk to each other and exhaust usage really quickly. Some people don't care because their employer/company provides them a Claude plan to use. Others like me just wait patiently until usage comes back around.

The problem is they don't need to make it impossible, they just need to make the SaaS shit to be far enough to be meaningfully ahead of the self host bit. Sure, you can try to distill or whatever , but even that takes hardware. We've already seen what happened with the attempt to
>For the children!
demand control of the Internet with "prove your identity, picture and real world ID please" , and this will only go further. The powers that be in the AI overlords will do just like the music/movie industry did - make everything they don't control, illegal. They were too early and too stupid back two decades ago and decided to profit from all the iTunes and streaming first, but the current AI companies need to get you to subscribe - they'll make it illegal or vaguely impossible to train your own model or open weights/LoRAs because something something CP party van, we can't have people generating CSAM guys .

Nvidia JUST stopped production of the 5090 GPU, because they don't want you to have 32gb OF VRAM, they figure you got too much too cheaply, and should be buying the 5 figure or more per card pro cards if you want to do AI shit. Its only going to get worse unless we all get together, ignore the attempts to fearmonger and demand that AI has to be FOSS and beneficial to all or else its going to just be another way they can rape you harder and you pay for the privilege

Well I'm happy with the state of it for now after doing a short run to shaft, so for whoever's interested:
Zero SOTN hack full size:
https://litter.catbox.moe/rv9xna078pi7jeqq.zip
Sprite scaled down slightly (like the webm):
https://litter.catbox.moe/66ue1ovedh5zuz6l.zip
Those are the full ps1 game already patched for your convenience
>litterbox
I'm just getting feedback if any at all, then I'll release it somewhere else later in patch form. I can't tell if this is supposed to be a post your work ai thread so I'll just post next time too.
If you use the scaled version I recommend playing at a high internal res so his sprite doesn't look distorted.
I don't need to teach you how to play X4 zero, just know that giga attack is on R2, his aerial spin slash is now on a neutral special input so he can still use the regular air slash, and he has a down+up super jump input like richter which also acts as a stronger ryuenjin
Start a save file with the name ZERO in order to play as him. You will still go through the prologue, this is normal.

I'm currently working on a modding project, but as I've been working on it I'm suddenly realizing that claude opus 5.5 is just powerful enough to do whatever I want really. I could have it create a level editor for any game I want, change any mechanic, rewrite the collision system of any game to support mechanics from other games.
The explosion of modding potential is so huge that I don't think the reality has set in for a lot of people, theres really nothing off the table since claude can find and hook into just about anything even if you don't just decomp the whole game.
>add new areas to games that previously couldn't have maps added
>add new characters, enemies, menu systems, animations etc
This level of ease of use and the near universal nature of it (some protected games are harder to work with) is a whole new frontier. I'm hopeful for the first time since this AI bullshit started getting pushed that we the people are finally going to get something out of it.
