AI hate is purely performative at this point.
Like I get it, you don't like the horrible burger restaurant posters or whatever, move on already.
>>

If you know what you're doing then Ai is fine. The issue with Ai is the vast amount of digital shit being smeared everywhere
>>
>>749648294
You don't know the meaning of "performative".
>>
AI cultists should be hanged
>>
>>749647659
I'm not surprised. I started using AI pretty regularly in my work back in July and I've found it to be incredibly useful. I am no longer constrained by the speed at which I can slam my fists against a keyboard, I can now get the AI to do the fist-slamming for me.
>>
I'll keep my intelligence with me instead of surrendering it to the machines, thanks.

I don't give a fuck if your game was made with AI, but I want it for free. If you didn't program anything or even do the art, why should I pay you?
If you don't want to give me your game for free, then there will be millions of other idiots who'll do the same thing as you (because now you don't need any talent at all), and if just 1% of them give their stuff away for free, that'll be enough to flood the gaming market so much that no one will need to buy anything anymore.

In other words:
Anyone who wants my money will have to do all the work and then document what they've done
And even then, there's a good chance I'll pirate the game lol
>>
pretty soon we won't even need him.
>>
>>749649058
Same. Dark times ahead my friend.
Butlerian jihad soon.
>>
>>749649923
Eventually yeah, but right now agentic orchestration in the hands of a senior/staff engineer is just insanely faster and the quality loss is usually low
>>
>>749649843
In fact, if a future where anyone can hire "agents" to clone games, and where more quality games are released each month than a person could play in a lifetime, the video game market will no longer make any sense at all.
From then on, the only real people working in games and making a living from it will be those in a patronage system, supported by people who believe it's morally right to sponsor human artists.

The mainstream market will die, because people will interact with games the way children interact with Roblox, that is, they'll have tens of thousands of free "slop-options", and they'll click on any one of them, play for a bit, and then forget about it.
>>
>>749650021
>hey claude, analyze the jobs of our senior staff and do it instead

>>749650129
>for a much lower price
Not true in fact, you forgot to account for the massive subsidization of token costs in the last few years to push LLM slop into everything.
When the bubble bursts prices will skyrocket even more than they already have, and LLMs will be confined to what can be implemented on a typical businesses closet server rack, or in a second hand gaming PC running in the IT department.
>>
>>749650129
Tokens aren't gonna get cheaper, and just building a bunch of planning, authoring, reviewing, triage agents etc without fine-tuning them is just asking for insane monthly bills.

This study looks at async code gen and not sync code gen. That's the difference between mass generating everything and then reviewing at the end vs generating blocks and editing on the spot. Studies show a night and day difference between the two with the former being ass and the latter being highly effective. The bottleneck in the best cases is human review still has to occur no matter if its 100% human or AI and humans only review so much code at a time so even if we can make code 25%+ quicker with sync methods or autocompletes with 0 bugs, the shipping train only moves so fast

anyone who is under 30 has no memory of how fast tech changes used to move back in the 90s where companies would make it or break it based on what technological innovation they chose to adopt.
and it would be decided by about 3 months.
within 3 months you would either realize you wasted your money adopting something that just became outdated (despite being only a year old) and doomed your company to fall behind, or that you managed to jump far ahead of your competitor that decided to wait those same 3 months, and whom is now ALSO fucked because they didn't risk it.

He's not wrong tho, LLMs are good for static analysis in practice. It's a common trend in machine learning, the neural networks are good in pattern recognition. For example, one was trained to tell men from women by rib form, something that was deemed impossible by human doctors before.

It's when John Talentless uses AI to steal art pieces and tries to sell them as his own that AI is a problem. Of course not mentioning the environmental and social impact of data-centers, but it's pretty much besides the point if you can run a local model with a 5090 and a couple sticks of RAM.
