It's been five hours and I'm still gathering all the lyrics together, I don't think I'll hit my target of finishing Board Culture 2 tonight. Still doing lyric timing all the way to stream, but I'm reorganizing my copy of the sheet so I can tackle them all in one uninterrupted session.

In future years do you think song lyrics should have an additional column in the album order? That way it's easier to just pull the lyrics for timing without tracking them down in the finished tab.

It wouldn't hurt much, but we typically fill them on both the finished and final sheet, so usually I just time them on the Finished sheet then move to Final after.

Timing lyrics is easy, anyone can do it if they're bored.

Download the audio and copy the lyrics for any song we don't have Timed Lyrics for on the Finished tab.

Go to the website listed above. Paste the lyrics into the text area then click 'Synchronize'. Click the Audio button and select the matching music file. Then start the playback with the START button.

Now you're basically just listening to the song and clicking once when each line starts. The "Next Line" button or spacebar/enter will mark the next line in white to show it's tagged. If you mess up, you can pause with the Continue button (now a timer) and click next to any lyric to rewind the song timing to that point. You can also edit the lyrics on the fly if you noticed the singer changed a line.

When you reach the end of the lyrics, the 'Next Line' button becomes 'Get File' to download the .lrc file to your PC. Just open the .lrc file with a text editor (plain Notepad works) and take only the timed lyric lines alongside timestamps and paste them into Rentry. Here's an example: https://rentry.co/ypef847z

To pretty up the file, highly recommended:
1. The new site doesn't keep verses/choruses separated, if you want it to look it's best you need to manually separate those. You can reference the Lyric link of the parody again for that if you need.
2. You should delete stuff like directions on pronunciation too.
3. Add an extra [00:00.00] timing to the start of the text, it makes the start clean.
4. Delete the website's advertising bit at the end.

You can fill the Rentry in on the Temp sheet for now, after you're done doing however many you feel like just make a post telling the thread which you've done if you don't have sheet perms, so we can move them to Finished too.

Ah yeah I like that one. Doesn't look like it wrote itself to me though, it kept the concept of "being alone" but didn't even keep the key phrase untouched, it changed it entirely. Seems like a great example of a song that only left lines alone when they had a new meaning, like "it's perfectly balanced" means something much more specific and different in the context of a vidya song.

This is a strong year, I love pretty much all of these Death Battle songs and they cover some nice variety. Emotional songs, funny songs, quirky songs, and some nice variety in sources and genres too. I'm kinda surprised we didn't get more ELO or Bat Country sooner.

Personally I find it very easy to use. It gives you all the tools you need without overcomplicating things, and it's free, too. I've only been using it since last month and so far I really like it. My only issue with it is that it tends to crash a lot when you enable autosave. I've turned it off and haven't had any crashes yet. It could also be because I use Linux and I imagine they don't update the Linux version as much. We actually did this art before and it lost the vote iirc (at least I think it was an album candidate). That doesn't mean you couldn't do it but when it comes to something we vote on it's a downside imo.

Mix 2 has made some doubling effects more present on some parts of the vocals such as the deep voiced part at the beginning. Also Mix 2 has Esquie sounds which I think is a nice touch.

That wasn't the issue. It's that UVR decided to chomp heavily on the instrumental track as it removed the vocals. Luckily the never versions are better at not doing that when it comes to harsh vocals.

Yeah, right that the artist decided to rep industry with no industry stuff but platforms and BC stuff instead. You might as well have a Vidya cover that's just Janny sitting at a TV and say "well he's playing a game".

The art tries to be 3 types at once and that makes it fail at all 3. It's good art but we have themes for a reason, it's going to be an ill fit no matter what it's used for because there is no theme where everyone can see it on a song and go "this must be an industry/Board Culture/Platforms song". It's a shame because there is no lack of console-tan or anon art, and a severe lack of Industry stuff repped at all. It's not even an issue if us using every idea before, half of the Industry greats (or greats to mock) have never been the focus of a cover. In recent years we had Molyneux once and Gaben once. The suggestion post had a point, when was the last time (if ever) we repped industry stuff like Todd or Sweeney (not to be confused with Sweeney Todd). Or even specific events, like the cuphead journo could have made a great reference. Instead we have 0 industry options and an option that tries to be 3 things at once to hedge bets and end up being none of them.
