As a game, things like rapidly degrading melee weapons, wonky hitboxes, and an insufficient attempt at old Resident Evil inventory management in 2026 is kind of half-assed. The Labyrinth stuff is just padding, too. After six months to a year of patches, this might be Alien: Isolation tier, but right now it's deeply flawed. I don't regret buying it, however. Zora is best girl.

Treating them as emergency buttons for when you have to deal with multiple enemies and trying to use the knife/ the genesis configuration/ stealth to deal with easier enemy setups is the way. I still wouldnt say that the combat or any particular aspect of the gameplay itself is THAT well done or developed, but its bound to happen when you choose this kind of jack of all trades horror-adventure game approach thats reminiscent of a shitload of other clunktober classics in history, and when compared to those it plays pretty well for what it is
